Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber

My group is about to start book 6. They have just cut the head of the snake so to speak. Literally taking Uri's head. I was curious if other groups have done some interesting things with the portals or the citadel in general.

So my group had the idea to start their own trade consortium. It started with the elves in the jungle. As things progressed they later made a deal with kovlar for quick transportation of goods across the world. Then before going to Katapesh they made arrangements with cypress point and ravounel as well. Our barbarian became the guild master of the gladiator arena. As well leading up the events in katapesh our rogue had already dropped the idea of a new trade partner to many guilds in katapesh. Once the events were done and because of how well they performed I allowed the trade consortium to take over the guild position formerly held by the scarlet triad.

So next step is making warehouses near each portal. As well a set of message stones for each gate. That way someone stationed in the ring knows when to open a portal. Also they brought in the labor unions from kovlar and used the chisel to make it so the citadel entrance to the ring is via a now hidden door. That way trade and goods arent cluttering up the citadel. They had a mine cart system built in the goblin blood caves that comes out into the new home of the bumblebrashers. Who can then guide travelers to breachill for a nice break or they continue through another portal.

As well they filled the portal room with a golem dedicated to each of the major factions they have made friends with along the way. The first floor of the citadel the court rooms have been converted to an embassy and housing for their friends from other parts of the world to stay in.

As my group has truly made friends, allies, and a home. They have retirement goals and relations. Our champion has been romancing Nketiah, and our rogue has been romancing Tarindlara who may be carrying his child. I'm really excited for book 6. (laughs in evil dragon god)

Before the apg came out I allowed my group to get a free archetype feat. Just for more options in their builds. I did this around book 4. I have also given my guys the option to retrain just about anything since this was our first official pf2 adventure. This way they didn't feel like they had to play another rogue for the long haul to make use of the new options that have come out since. I don't feel like this power spiked the group in a bad way. In fact they feel well balanced in the system still.

If you have experienced players, and the new options fit the image of their character more so. I'd say let them do it. At the end of the day its about the story of these player characters in this setting.

We are starting onto book 6 now. Currently I am debating if they do things well in Hermea and don't make a huge mess. I may give my guys the level 20 feats presented as a bonus feat.

We are also playing Hells Vengeance currently. We started the first book in pf1. Took a break after book one. We converted it all over to pf2. Then did book 2. We went on hiatus till the apg came out. This way our tiefling could have actual pf2 rules. Also we went with the free archetype variant. As well most of us rebuilt our characters fully. Our rogue switched to master mind. My ranger with animal companion switched to fighter/beastmaster cause it fit how the character was played out much better.

My party has a titan instinct barbarian. I have included a few extra goodies for him. Also you can also find craftsmen that could custom make things for you if you have the gold as well.

Also its a really cool class option, that with huge size and whirlwind, jumping like the hulk. Its crazy fun to gm. Even when he crits for insane damage.

I ended up running the first book of serpents skull as a stand alone. I had intended to run the whole thing, but it didn't happen at the time. The first book of that can be altered for the reason why the pcs end up washed up on an island after a shipwreck very easily. It also makes a great template to modify with your own flair. A lot of it deals with surviving and finding a way off this island. There are a few npcs as well. As presented there is a lot of gm upkeep, keeping track of attitudes, illness, weather etc. So consider altering this system it gets tedious after several in game days.

My group ended up finishing last night. They did survive! In a lot of regards Embermead ended up being more of a slog fest for them. I had her blade barrier to separate the group, and the golems tried to push, grapple, and hit them back into the barrier. While Embermead was casting spells and tossing her hammer. Spiritual epidemic went off on the titan barbarian. So once they struggled to hit her they moved on to grappling. They eventually got Embermead restrained and cuffed in multiple sets of scarlet triad manacles and tossed her holy symbol into one of the forges.

The dragon fight they went in very prepared. Potions of flying, quickness, salamander elixirs. As well everyone forked over the money for an ice rune before going in. The dragons first breath weapon attack goes off on the whole party. 3 crit saves, 2 nat 20's, but the cleric crit failed and would have went down had the paladin not taken all of his damage for him. They then proceeded to knock the dragon from the sky once. The rogue got a great crit off. The cleric also crit failed vs the 2nd breath weapon attack, but barely had enough health to take it.

My group just met with king Harral last night and hit level 14. So should be entering the temple of all gods next week. Their dice were on fire last night too, back to back crits from my barbarian on the random encounter i made before the Kings summons. Plus the ST members in the old workshop could barely put up a fight against my guys. The champion hit 40 AC last night too. That amazing shield in the hidden forge, and that amazing full plate in the workshop made him more of a power house then he already was. Giant instinct barbarian got whirlwind too. (good bye large groups of enemies)

After the encounter with the Grikkitog my group keeps at least one potion of fly on each of them at all times now. Constantly being held by a maw in the ground wasn't fun for them.

Thank you for your feed back Ice Titan. This is quite far into a new AP so I wasn't sure how many groups would really be passed this point. I'll post how and what my group ends up doing. Just in case it gives another GM some insight. After all this is the highest level I've ever ran through any system and I'm sure other GMs may be in the same boat.

How did the last fights go for your group? Specifically the Embermead and Veshumirix fights. They seem quite hard on paper. As they should be, but im curious if any of these TPK'd your group, or if things went better for the players then expected.

My group consist of a giant instinct barbarian, champion paladin, ruffian rogue, and warpriest cleric. So far they have been really good with damage mitigation. Otherwise i'm pumped to run a dragon encounter.

When attempting a High Jump or Long Jump during a
Sudden Leap, determine the DC using the Long Jump DCs, and
increase your maximum distance to double your Speed.

So i get with a long jump you can set the DC to allow yourself to jump up to double your speed.
For high jump you use the long jump DCs. So a normal high jump is 3 ft vertically and 5 ft horizontally. Is the DC 8 making it easy for the crit success to jump 8ft vertically? Does this allow a higher jump then High jump would normally allow?

I realize I am replying to a two-year-old thread, but in my campaign this week they hired him for 50 gp/week.

Of course, I will do my best to see him dead before the book is done, but he may balance some scales when the final assault on the fort happens.

In my group we hired Zaggar, after getting some info from him. He is the doorman to the One Knight Stand tavern and brothel. Formally the last stand tavern. We have been very rp heavy and really taking our time in this ap. Our GM is quite accommodating and likes to get creative and feed into the heavy rp aspect.
