As they crest the rise, Ku'Hania's eyes widen at the stunning yet unsettling sight of the bone-white trees with their crimson leaves and oozing sap. She searches her memory for anything related to such strange plant life, rumored to exist here or elsewhere.

Smiling at Becky's response to Ankha dismissing her injuries, Ku'Hania nods before moving forward to cross the river.

"I don't think anyone else was harmed." Ku'Hania replies, taking stock of everyone. "Are you alright?"

As the shell tries to latch onto Ku'Hania it is met by her most capable personal defense as Haplo latches onto the offending creature, delivering his venomous bite.

Meanwhile the shamaness takes a step forward, driving her spear into the remaining zombie.

Ku'Hania gestures, as crystals of ice begin to coalesce on the furthers of the enemies, slowly encasing its legs.

Hex: Beckoning Chill (Su): The shaman causes one creature within 30 feet to become more susceptible to the sapping powers of cold for 1 minute. When a creature takes cold damage while under this effect, it is entangled for 1 round. If the creature takes cold damage while already entangled by beckoning chill, the duration of the entangled condition increases by 1 round. When a deep shaman uses beckoning chill on a creature in the water, that creature becomes fatigued due to hypothermia for the duration, and it also becomes entangled if the creature takes damage from the deep shaman’s spirit abilities and from spells and abilities with the water descriptor. Once affected, the creature cannot be the target of this hex again for 24 hours.

Stepping up behind Ankha, Ku'Hania extends a hand, uttering a chant as the wet, sandy ground beneath the water freezes solid, radiating supernatural cold.

"This icy ground is treated as normal ice, forcing creatures to spend 2 squares of movement to enter an icy square and increasing the DC of Acrobatics checks in the area by 5. A creature that begins its turn in the affected area takes 1d6 points of cold damage and takes a –2 penalty on saving throws against spells with the cold descriptor for 1 round."

Wary, Ku'Hania moves up a bit behind Ankha, her spear raised in a defensive posture, as the alchemist prods one of the corpses.

Looks good to me

"It makes sense to navigate on foot for now." Ku'Hania agrees.

And where on the map are we?

"Then we will just have to be prepared to deal with them harshly if it comes to that." Ku'Hania says resolutely.

Ku'Hania listens intently, calling up what she knows of the monstrous aquatic people known as the Sahuagin, her mind already made up to aid Koloshkora and her people, as much for the sake of their colony and its safety, as for thier new potential allies.

Far from the most talkative of the group, Ku'Hania simply observes the exchange.

"Well met, Koloshkora." Ku'Hania says with an amiable nod, finding the language rolling off of her tongue rather fluidly. "We mean no harm."

Listening to Becky's explanation, she could see why the fishwoman and her people would be wary.

I think Ku'Hania could make good use of the Galleyblade if no one has any objections. The FOM vs water-based impairments makes sense, and having a close weapon to deal with being grappled is a good idea.

For the life of me I can't find the post with the details of the Galleyblade. I think Pryson might be the only person with proficiency with a scimitar, and silver I'm sure will be useful at some point.

Let's finish up with anything anybody wants to claim/purchase and sell before we set out.

During the downtime one of the things Ku'Hania would be doing it trying to pick up Azlanti (will put a skill point into linguistics for it next level up)

So then the 6120 if split 3 ways would be 2,070 each.

Ku' Hania listens with great intrigue, fascinated by the possibilities of the island and its surroundings. "When you say sunken, do you mean underwater, or underground? While the laboratory would be very interesting, maybe it would be better to check out the Ulfen settlement first if it is the closest thing. If only to make sure it isn't a threat."

Ah

From the description, I gather the bubble vault is only in pearl form when empty. It's definitely something we should keep, though, in the event we really need to hide something at some point.

I don't know how we want to divide loot. Braxton has 2050 GP in items from the +1 mithral shirt and the ring of protection. Ankha has 4657 from the +1 Seaborn Fauchard and the shield cloak. Ku'Hania has 602.5 from the +1 darkwood buckler. Beck's took the cloak of resistance so that's 500 GP.

@GM How many days of our 6 weeks downtime could Braxton have used to generate Capital for his tavern? Also did we ever crack the Bubble Vault open to see if anything was inside?

Shouldn't the 220 Platinum be 2200gp? That would make the total 8,190.

If Ankha is forgoing a share this time around that would bring an even split to 2,730gp

Ku'Hania listens, taking in everything Ramona has to say, and nods, somewhat eager to explore more of the island, especially the prospect of interacting with other indigenous peoples of the region. "We would be happy to do everything we can to further the colony."

Awakening disoriented and disturbed, Ku'Hania heads down to the beach to clear her head with an early morning swim, the total immersion into the cold ocean water instantly soothing both mind and body.

Much refreshed, she makes her way back to the hut, getting dressed and joining her companions. "I think we all had the same dream. I wonder if it was from the ship, or that unsettling dog thing. I think I remember hearing baying in the distance."

Ku'Hania gives the guard a very pointed glare at the implication that he bet that they were dead.

"Your mother will be happy that you're alive above all else, Becky." she says reassuringly. "I suppose we may as well turn in for the night."

Shaking her head in amusement, Ku'Hania sets the boat in motion to head back to shore.

"Thanks." Ku'Hania says, giving Becky a grateful smile. "You need a good night's rest."

Ku'Hania pulls herself up and into the boat in a single smooth motion, for all the world looking invigorated by their wild underwater adventure. "It definitely was...there seems to be much in the way of time-preserving magic here. The old Azlanti magic was clearly very strong!"

She looks up at the stars, taking a deep breath of the cool night air. "I wonder how long we were actually down there."

As the wounded hound sets its vile glare on her again, Ku'Hania braces herself, her body this time shrugging off the eerie gaze with nothing more than an intense prickling feeling passing over her skin for a moment.

Everything seems to slow as the bizarre hound vanishes, the magical bubble shattering in the same moment. With only moments left, she straps her spear across her back, taking a deep breath in preparation of being engulfed.

Blinking as the creature disappears, Ku'Hania spins at the sound of the beast tearing into Becky, racing to help her, striking with her spear with her spear.

Monstrous Insight (Su): The shaman can identify creatures and gain insight into their strengths and weaknesses. As a standard action, the shaman can attempt a Knowledge skill check to identify a creature and its abilities (using the appropriate skill for the monster’s type) with an insight bonus equal to her shaman level. Rolled in 1st round Whether or not the check is successful, she also gains a +2 insight bonus for 1 minute on attack rolls made against that creature and a +2 insight bonus to her AC against attacks made by that creature. These bonuses last for 1 minute.

Ku'Hania lets out a scream of agony as the bizarre creature's literally piercing gaze tears through her like a hail of daggers. With no idea what this otherworldly dog thing might be grits her teeth in anger and pain, striding forward as she calls upon the spirits, sending forth a wave of power meant to instill fear and unease in her enemies.

Cast Bane DC 14 Will negates (50ft radius). Each affected creature takes a -1 penalty on attack rolls and a -1 penalty on saving throws against fear effects.

Ku'Hania nods with a small smile of appreciation for Braxton's compliment, before turning her attention to watching the deck, and peering up at the edges of the bubble above them.

Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

Ku'Hania shudders slightly at the searing chill of the negative burst, though she manages to shrug off the worst of it. As the undead captain collapses, she strides over to pull her spear out of the zombie's head, flicking a bit of gore off of it as she looks over the deck, ensuring no further enemies are forthcoming.

Ku'Hania can't help but smile, as Ankha delivers a wicked slash to the zombie advancing toward her. Shifting her spear to her dominant hand, Ku'Hania heft's the weapon. She shifts her grip and throws it past Ankha to strike the last zombie as it advances to aid its Captain.

Spear throw at the remaining zombie behind the zombie Captain, assuming zombie facing me is dropped by Ankha's AoO. If not will strike that one in melee instead (attack roll/damage would be same)

Focusing on a spot just ahead of the cluster of zombies, Ku'Hania completes her spell, causing a burst of positive energy to erupt in their faces.

Positive Pulse: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 (DC 14 Will Negates)

Those still on the ice also take another 1d6 ⇒ 1cold damage, and -2 to saves vs cold spells for 1 round

If it's okay I'd use that attack roll to throw my obsidian dagger at the one 20ft from me. Same attack roll as my Str and Dex are the same.

I'm gonna assume the guy in front of Becky is dead with that mega crit from Ankha

Ku'Hania's eyes narrow as she sees the thick fog rolling in, her affinity for water magic immediately recognizing the effect. "That fog will completely obscure your vision unless we can summon a strong wind!" she says to her companions.

With the gifts granted her by the deep spirits, she is unaffected herself, eyes effortlessly peering through the spreading gloom. As Ankha utterly obliterates one of the zombies, the shamaness takes a step to the side of her protector, plunging her spear into the body of the zombie right in front of Ankha.

Appreciating Ankha's protective stance, Ku'Hania begins a shamanic chant, reaching out to draw on the moisture and cold of the vast ocean all around them at the edge of the strange barrier, drawing it in and focusing it to the center of the deck, as ice encrusts the deck's surface, radiating supernatural cold and making it hard for the strange zombies to maintain their balance, and substantially slowing thier advance.

Ku'Hania warily studies the zombie crew, and looks to the edges of the strange air bubble, considering the possible results should tampering with whatever was embedded in the captain undo the effect.

Ku' Hania simply smiles at the exchange, as Haplo crawls down off of her leg and across the floor, easily climbing the table to take a few bites of the fish.

Finally back home! Will get caught up and posting.

Ku' Hania moves into the room, pausing for a moment and leaning closer to the beds in the room before stepping back with a somewhat disgusted look on her face. "It looks like there's bits of flesh on the beds...as if they've been sleeping in them...which I'm pretty sure isn't a normal thing for undead to be doing."

Ku' Hania warily moves through the space, her eyes watching the odd drowned zombies, expecting an attack at any moment, though none comes. She follows Ankha into the room, noting the chest and the unusual medallion.

"I have no idea who that would represent." she replies, once again shifting her vision into the magical spectrum with a bit of concentration.

I really need to invest skill points into Knowledge Religion next time we level

Ku'Hania takes the pearl suspended from the rope, holding it up and studying it as she feels for magic of any type.
