Krrys'tall squeaks as the hobgoblin's sword nicks their soft skin. Krrys'tall's concern for Neppka now seems to have gotten them straight into the fire. Action 1: Krrys'tall Strides 5 feet to the North and holds the remaining movement. Action 2: They unleash a flurry of non-lethal gripper blows to White Soldier.
Action 3: They Step between Festus and Candalreth, then begin circling back around Red Goblin with all remaining movement.
With the 1st level stats, I think I actually serve better as a flanking post than a ranged attacker. Haha.
If the goblins get sassy.
Actions 1-2: Krrys'tall moves up, giving all enemies a wide berth, coming to a sliding stop just behind the only remaining hobgoblin. Action 3: Now that the hobgoblin is facing enemies from the front and back, Krrys'tall uses the sliding momentum and lets loose a Flurry of Blows with their feet.
If the forums go, surely they would replace them with something else.
My fault for stepping on Vako's toes.
Action 1: Krrys'tall narrows their eyes and Steps forward. Action 2: They rear back on their haunches and enter Monastic Archer Stance. Action 3: They unleash a Flurry of Blows with 2 arrows from their gakgung to Black Hobgoblin.
Krrys'tall shoulders shrug down in utter despair. The cool drinks and long nap in the Rusty Dragon were now further away than ever. With a long sigh that crescendos into petulant groaning, they look at their companions. "No rest for da exhausted, ey Bredren?" With only the briefest moment to be stopped, should one of the others have reason, Krrys'tall launches forward with frogish momentum to dart toward the burning town in need.
That ruling makes the most sense. Very close to how my physical games run it, too.
For Vako: Is Vako constantly using the Scout exploration action? For DM Doc: I understand the basic rules on exploration actions but have used them more in a house-rule sense. Could you give a brief explanation of how you want us to use them?
Probably should have brought a burglar to the party. Was a little honed in on the jumping frog thing. Krrys'tall's level plan shows that at 5th level, they will be taking Thievery as a trained skill. Until then, we are out of luck for locks and traps, though.
Krrys'tall sighs, having been roped into more work, but keeps their mouth shut out of respect for Festus and his deceased brother. They climb around to look in places that may have been missed the first time this decrepit graveyard was searched and use their tripkee grippers to reach crevices humanoid hands might have trouble finding purchase.
Krrys'tall is nearly asleep in a nearby tree, before the others even finish the conversation. They nod along in agreement to Vako, not comprehending a word he said.
Krrys'tall lazily raises an eyelid for a moment, then lets it fall shut once again. There's just enough movement to indicate they are indeed awake and listening to the chatter of the group and enjoying the precious moments before having to do anything today.
Krrys'tall agrees wearily. It's been at least 4 hours since they had a nap, after all.
Krrys'tall smirks approvingly at Neppka's rough response to the ruffian.
Krrys'tall shares a concerned look with Neppka, as Festus reveals the dead dwarf is probably his brother.
Hoping that Vako is correct, and that the job is truly done, Krrys'tall nods and helps the others gather their belongings for the journey back.
Krrys'tall shakes their head and makes a fearful croak while answering Festus's question. "Bad stuff. Black magic. Guys comin' back from da dead and grans turnin' bandit. We might not have enough mouth for this bug, Bredren."
No worries, Boss. I'm only going to get concerned, if no one posts for like a week.
Problem solved? Do we go back to Sandpoint now? Krrys'tall pats Vako on the shoulder, more in an effort to focus him than anything else. "Not quite yet, Breden. Le's talk to da men just a bit more, before we start back." After that Krrys'tall simply smiles and waits for the Varisians to answer the energetic bard's first question.
What do we do with our captive? They are not our captives. The understood agreement was they talk and chill out, but we leave after we get our information. About to catch up on the gameplay now.
Krrys'tall rubs their head and asks, "What could dat dwarf have offered to make ya gran so willing to turn to violence?"
Krrys'tall breathes a sigh of relief and rests up against the nearby pine tree. After a moment to allow everyone to stand down and take a breath, they ask both of the remaining Varisians, "Start from de beginning: Why have your people taken to attacking travelers?"
Krrys'tall nods at the man but adds. "Too much killin' today, as is. We need answers, dough."
Krrs'tall steps back to give the man some space, more than allowing for an opportunity to just run, but leaving no room for any harm to come to Melaria or any other companions.
LMK if this game is working for you. I like the game so far. Being level 1 is stressful, but that won't last forever. I also love that my weird bird-man isn't the most unusual PC in the group. :) Didn't expect goofy plant child and lazy frog person, did you? lol
Krrys'tall holds a gripper out to get Festus to back off, and addresses Green.
I think chance to surrender would be great. Krrys'tall is all for the non-violent option.
Low level enemies normally do not have attacks of opportunity. We would need knowledge rolls to make sure. DM might throw us a bone, but I would just say to risk it. Also, do we like the phonetically spelled out speech for Krrys'tall more, or should I revert back to normal spelling?
Action 1: Interact. Krrys'tall leans back to the druid expertly sliding their gakgung from off her arm. With a wink, they say, "Tank ya, Gyal."
Action 2: Monastic Archer Stance. Action 3: Flurry of Blows to Yellow.
Getting Neppka back up is paramount. I don't really have many options for a fight like this, and even my crits don't hit very hard.

Following up on Neppka's breakout, Krrys'tall darts out and tries to divert the crone's attention from the fighter. Actions 1 and 2: Stride to the crone. Action 3: Flurry of blows.
I wasn't sure if we were supposed to, on account of traps and other such things. That's my bad!

Krrys'tall's Round 2 First Action: Stride 15' over to the West end of the cage. Second Action: Flurry of Blows to Green.
Third Action: Strike against Green.
Movement Continued: Move away from the bars 5' (or 10') to get out of reach.

Krrys'tall moves up to back up Neppka. They allow Neppka to actually hold the door while they ready their grippers for beatdown of any guards that try to get through.
Krrys'tall is about to settle in for Neppka's retelling of what occurred when they hear Vako's Courageous Anthem and feel its emboldening effects. They spin around to see the Varisians reacting to the unperceived Haunting Hymn and sigh. "Breden, Vako done started the party!" They brace themselves for the inevitable fight.
"We did not find much. What we did, Neppka here carried for safekeeping." Krrsy'tall indicates Neppka and allows the swordsman to take over.
Up to you. Strategically, it might work out.
"You worship the Forgemaster? We have grim news. We found one of the faithful slain in a graveyard near here. The creatures that slew him are dead." |
