What ways have my fellow players determined to be the best ways to keep your spellbooks safe and secure?

Cast Shrink Item on spellbook. Turn it into piece of cloth. Cast Magic Aura to remove the aura. Wear cloth as your loincloth. Nobody ever takes your loincloth.

Best Plan Ever

Until you walk into an anti-magic zone and your pants/loincloth turn into a book and fall off. although at that point being pants-less is the least of a wizards worries.

If your DM genuinely dislikes prepared casters, which seems to be the case with clerics being spontaneous casters. Then I would ask the DM if other prepared casters could be treated equally and be spontaneous casters as well.

The Exchange

Something I've been thinking about doing lately that would work well with a younger audience is a short campaign about the current meta-plot in the Pathfinder Society missions(the shadow lodge stuff). The Pathfinder Society is well suited for a PG audience already and you can pick and choose which scenarios you wish to include. You would have to do a little work to connect the adventures, as the PFS scenarios don't usually cover travel to the distant places that are featured in the meta-plot (Absalom, Kaer Maga, Katapesh I think). Although that gives you a little freedom for more adventures if you want.

I arrived with kikai13 yesterday. Didn't go to the crab pot this time. When does the zuxius beer gallery open?

The Exchange

I'll be there as well. Assuming there's room.

oh and I almost forgot,

R.F.B.U.2011!

The Exchange

Hey folks. I recently entered a miniatures painting competition at a local gaming convention and somebody seems to like my paint jobs. I entered a Pathfinder Red Dragon mini in the large category (50mm or larger), and the Pathfinder Lini and Droogami mini's in the small category. The red dragon (the same one I posted pics of in the "reaper red dragon chronicles" thread) didn't win the large category, but Droogami the snow leopard took the small category. I had this mini at PaizoCon last year so some of you may have already seen it.

and here are the pics.

Ooh! triple post! forgot one last thing.
A very good friend of mine and painting mentor(one of many) started a miniatures painting blog. I would highly recommend checking this site out.

you can find it at http://www.scootergirlpaints.com

updated dragon He has a belly now!

This is my idea for a diorama that I would like to have finished when I go to PaizoCon.

spoiler:
Yes I know that Seoni isn't holding a staff on the cover of the PFCR but I thought she looked more "magicky" with a staff than just her arms flailing around.

The Exchange

Wow, it's been a long while since I posted on here last, sorry to keep everyone waiting. I had some things come up and had to put painting on the back burner, but a local painting competition has me re-motivated to work on my dragon.

what size did you go for? It looks like 50mm, but I'm not sure.

Yes, that's a 50mm base from Malifaux

Larry Lichman wrote:
What brand of paints do you use?

All of my paints for this guy are P3 paints from Privateer Press. Don't ask for specific colors though because I did a TON of mixing to make custom colors.

I'll be double posting in a moment to link the updated photos.

The Exchange

Hey guys, I just started working on the Red Dragon Pathfinder mini from Reaper and I was very happy with my first day of work on him. So happy in fact that I thought I would show you my work and hopefully keep posting until completion. Remember, this is about 3 hours of work and he's far from done.

Sorry to bring this up this late into the thread but this sentence really grabbed me on the first page. I don't know if anybody said this already (I haven't read all 9 pages) but there's no such thing as reverse sexism. It's called sexism no matter which way you go.

That's all I had... do continue.

The main thing to remember as a fighter, and at 12th level is that your dice damage doesn't matter. At this point you want to focus on crit chance and bonus damage.(the number after the dice damage) You would also benefit from using the same weapon in both hands so that Weapon Focus and other feats that require a specific weapon will work for both weapons. the bad thing is your DR mitigation sucks when using the same type of weapon. I personally prefer the kukri as my TWF weapon because, it's a light melee weapon, and it has a high crit chance. Some people would say scimitars instead but I can't see why, it has the same crit chance, it's a one handed melee weapon, and your dice damage only goes up by two points. That's not enough to justify the TWF penalties for using two, one handed melee weapons, especially at 12th level.

Kikai13 and I are here finally in 249.

The Exchange

Kikai13 and I are at SeaTac just now, so close I can taste it.

If it helps any I have a room for Sunday and Monday night that I'd be willing to split. If your interested shoot me an email at bradleymcnear@hotmaildotcom.

Pay for that plane ticket and luggage check then we'll talk. Owen, I may take you up on your offer. would it be possible for you to get any farther north? It's about 32 hours to Seattle from Tulsa, If we stop for the night somewhere, we would have to leave at midnight-ish on Wednesday morning. If we drove straight through then it would be two eight hour driving shifts each, which would be kind of rough. what are your thoughts?

The Exchange

I may be able to get you Chris. It's about a 4 hour drive to Iowa city from Columbia, not a problem for me. Google maps put the trip from Iowa City to Bellevue at around 30 hours. I intend to make it up for the meet-and-eat on Thursday so that puts the departure time from Iowa City anywhere between 8:00am and 11:00am Wednesday if we drive straight to Bellevue without any stops.(that's about two, seven and a half hour shifts of driving each) If we intend to stop for the night then we'll have to leave around 12:00am or 2:00am Wednesday stopping somewhere in Wyoming or Montana.

What do you think?

The Exchange

I'm going to be driving up to Washington from Missouri by myself as of right now so if anyone needs a ride to PaizoCon I'd be willing to split gas with someone. Your hotel room is your own affair but the travel would be cheaper than a plane ticket. my car can only hold one other person so I can only get one taker. thanks!

The Exchange

I will be there as well if i can drive up fast enough.

Journal of Many Travels

Aura: Faint transmutation and divination CL: 3rd
Slot: none Price: 500gp Weight: 1lb

This small, leather bound journal, sometimes bears the symbol of Cayden Cailean or Desna, is secured by a leather strap wrapped around a small leather clasp, and contains 100 pages. When a command word is spoken the Journal of Many Travels writes down by itself everything the speaker dictates to it. When a second command word is spoken, the journal will draw any item or creature it's pointed at taking 1 minute, though the item or creature drawn must be still for the whole minute.(any text or pictures created by the journal is nonmagical) The journal also keeps an active log of everywhere it's ever been, giving the user of the journal a +5 to survival checks to find her way to anywhere the journal has already been. The Journal of Many Travels can understand and write in every language its creator knew at the time of creation and cannot write or learn any new languages although anything may be written in the journal by hand. The journal cannot copy or contain magical writing or reproduce specific handwriting or signatures. Pages ripped out of the journal lose their magical properties. The active travel log cannot be ripped out of the journal and simply moves to the next empty page available. If all pages are ripped out, the journal looses all of its magical properties and becomes a useless, pageless book.

Requirements: Craft Wondrous Item, message, know direction; Cost: 250gp

Ah-hah!

You've fallen right into my trap. By saying there are 32 of them, you must think that we will believe you. But, we know that you are prone to deception, therefore, there must be some number other than 32. But, you know that we know that you are prone to deception, so maybe there really are 32 and you are telling us this to make us doubt you.

Would Bless affect a combat maneuver that takes the place of an attack?
The spell Bless reads: pg249 PFRPG

"Bless fills your allies with courage. Each ally gains a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and on saving throws against fear effects."

When making a combat maneuver that takes the place of an attack would Bless affect that roll?
The first sentence of Trip reads: pg:201 PFRPG

"You can attempt to trip your opponent in place of a melee attack."

Our group pondered it for a few minutes but never came to a definite conclusion. What do you guys think?

The Exchange 1/5

My friends and I were wondering about these this whilst rebuilding our Pathfinder Society characters.

- Can you make your character in the advanced age categories such as middle age, old age, etc?

- Is the feat: Additional Traits, available for use with the Pathfinder Society? (the wording on the society guide is a little confusing.)

- What book do we use for the spell: Summon Monster, until the Pathfinder Bestiary comes out? (I would assume the 3.5 Monster Manual but I just wanted to make sure.)

Thanks for you help!

-Thanks to Jason Nelson for watching me die a slow, painfull, color sprayed death at the Grand melee.
-Thanks to Nethys for running an awsome PFS #24. that was a good time.

And thanks to everyone for getting me remotivated for Pathfinder again.
I look forward to seeing you guys again next year!

I've just returned from Paizocon and whilst I was there I got a chance to meet Neil Spicer, Jason Nelson, and Clinton Boomer along with other creative minds that contribute to Pathfinder and I want you guys to know that you've really inspired me to give the RPG superstar a try. Thanks guys and it was really nice to meet you.

I have ventured to the top of mount Paizo and will venture there once more... next year. Oh and make another trivia contest. I'm sure with Yoda getting married and me being poor, we will need all the free stuff we can get. RFBU#107 lives on!

For the unlucky ones who can't make It. Check twitter there's new stuff going up all the time. Right now we're geeking out over this awsome fanzine.

Are there any more spots left. If there are then I'm in. I'm. Not in anything at that time.

The Exchange

Arrived with kikai13, ate Lunch too, had the chicken melt, it wasn't worth $9. Bored now, it's about. 3 o'clock.

The Exchange

Kikai13 and myself have arrived. We're at the eastside bar and grill for now.

The Exchange

I hope seafood joints in the pacific northwest are cheaper than they are here in Missouri where they make my wallet cry.

The Exchange

Sign me up too, I love food, and drunken gaming. And if Kikai13's going then I'm pretty much going anyway. See you guys there.

The Exchange

Woo! Yoda8myhead's Goin' to washington! Kikai13 and I will see you there.

Kikai13 and I have been working out when and where and who to play, and I've found three or four people including myself who want to play a society game. Kikai13 said he's good to run once a month on saturday nights. It's only once a month but at least we're playing. We'll keep you posted Krome.

ps: ooh, Taldan faction, tisk tisk.
