Kor drifts back from his subconscious and glances down at the board. "Soon, milady"he unfolds his legs and stands offering his hand to help Izura up,"I'm sure we have all the tools we need. Our companions are hard at work ensuring out entrance. I eagerly await the moment this unhallowed place spews forth its defenders. No lich of this one's power rests unguarded."

The trox barbarian nods absentmindedly at Izura,"Let me know when my strength is needed, milady,"Kor settles into what appears to be a meditative position, something they all wondered at in prison. Strength of mind trumps that of the body for now...
I am stumped then, lol.
"The spirits here mock us,"Kor looks on dumbfounded by this turn of events,"surely there must be some way into this wretched tomb." Kor gestures exasperatedly to the rest of the party,"What now, comrades?" The barbarian storms from the alcove under the hill and breathes deep the evening air. Accursed hellhole... A trap for naught but a dead end... This lich is more insane than I thought...
Kor grins widely and stretches a bit, his plating fanning out and then resetting itself. "Me, of course,"the trox centers himself on the door,"I'll need two of you to open the doors for me, slowly, please." The barbarian lifts his hammer to his face and kisses it,"May our ancestors guide us and watch over us." Kor takes a moment to recite the intonement in each language he knows and nods solemnly when finished.
"Good thing you caught it,"Kor moves aside to let Valen pass,"I can carry a lot but a small mountain is beyond even me."
"I see nothing out of the ordinary,"Kor whispers to Zoren,"What do you think?"
"Back in formation, friends,"Kor hefts his hammer to the ready,"after we check this area for traps."
The trox barbarian stops smashing the skull, which has now devolved into a large bowl with teeth at the bottom, and plops to the ground. "I apologize,"he huffs to Valen, Kor's voice is back but weary,"I can't cage him for long under certain conditions, but he's resting for now. On to the task at hand, yes?" Kor stands and shakes off rivulets of sweat that shower the area near him,"Unlike that rash fool, Rok, I don't think this is an entrance, maybe a warning of some kind to ward off intruders,"he turns to Zoren,"We can circle around or slide down the gravel, time is the only difference here."
Rok reaches the crest of the skull and pauses to surveil the area and then lifts his hammer high above his head with both hands. "Knock! Knock!"he growls as he smashes the weapon into the top of the skull formation.
Rok saunters past an obelisk and scoffs,"So much for a fight. Maybe the rocks ahead will offer up a fresh corpse to put back in the ground."
"Pretty ponies have gone,"Rok sounds genuinely distressed,"Izura, what happened?"
Ceasing his display, Rok turns to face William, a maniacal smile still stuck on his monstrous face. "I appreciate the thought,"Rok's face droops into a deep frown,"speaking of thinking. Have I ever told you about what my master thought in his last moments?" The crazed trox puts a hand on his chin thoughtfully,"I'd like to think it was 'Ahhh! Kor'rok, don't kill me, I'm your master!',"Rok snorts,"Never could find his thoughts in all that brain matter, musta' been hidden pretty well." Rok claps William on the shoulder,"I like these talks. We should have them more often."
Indeed! Rok wants some lamb chops with his mutton goo!
A genuine split-personality disorder. This will be... Interesting.
"My people are bred for labor or the fighting pits. I come from a long line of fighters, a rare thing given the lifespan of the average trox gladiator." He wipes the goo from his face and frowns,"The toll of such a breeding program produces certain conditions, one being a schism of the mind... today you met Rok, what you have seen so far is but a fraction of what's to come..." Kor watches as the void creatures breech the circle. "Only blood and death sate the hunger... Maybe that's why I am here? To glut myself on one final feast of DESTRUCTION!!!" Kor's voice shifted to a sibalant tone with the last sentence and he grips his hammer tightly while screeching the last word. His maxillae chatter discordantly. "Do I make you nervous,"Rok leans in close to Valen's face,"Don't worry your pretty head. Kor's friend's are Rok's friends."
Kor bends down and dips his hand into the goo and smears his face with it. "Less than satisfying but it'll do for now... thank you..." Kor makes an extravagant bow to Izura, a look of genuine joy on his slime-covered face.

The appearance of the void creatures causes Kor to stand quickly, his head hanging low. Eerily he turns to look at Izura, his face in a rictus of rage and the tendons in his neck taut. "Pretty ponies, dark one,"a thick gobbet of drool smacks against the ground,"it seems we all have to bare our teeth sometimes..." Kor's voice has taken on an almost playful quality as he contorts his head to face the rest of the group, his mouth open in a twisted smile with the bizarre maxillae inside buzzing softly. "I think I have a beautiful smile, don't you all?" As the shadow horse barrels toward him, Kor cocks his head to the side, drool oozing out in a syrupy string. "A gift? For me? You shouldn't have!" Kor swings his hammer is an overhead arc, laughing maniacally all the while.
"We need a foe soon,"Kor manages between gritted teeth,"my mind is... slipping, a throwback to my race's beginnings... the rage is becoming... harder to control." The trox slumps to a knee and holds his head in his left hand. His massive tail flicking wildly. The killing urge is palpable here... not again... you will get release against the enemy... patience
Kor backs away from the obelisks, the stone dropping from his hand as he grips his hammer with both hands. "I want to hit something..."anyone close can see his features go rigid and a thin line of drool dripping from his mouth,"...soon... I guess..." Kor backs away and lowers his weapon, angry chittering issuing from his maxillae. The urge is back... I won't be able to resist for long...
Kor nods to Izura. "Strange indeed,"he stops rolling the small stone and heeds Zoren's advice,"What do you make of them, Zoren?"
No sign of anything beyond a black/white screen :(. i do see some menu option and my and your (DMTFY) pics at the bottom but beyond that the map is a blank ::sigh::

Kor moves towards the obelisk-ringed clearing, his hackles raised but for no discernible reason. He stops just shy of the nearest obelisk and forms a large fist above his head and then splays his fist open,"Fan out,"the trox whispers while he leans down slowly to let Izura down gently,"these stones are... off..." Kor picks up a small stone and rolls it between his fingers and whispers again,"What do you all make of them?"

Izura, that sounds more involved than any campaign I've ever been in. I'll be honest, my in-person campaigns have largely all flopped cause the DMs end up bailing or the other players do. I've never finished a campaign, adventure path, or otherwise :(. Eventually due to my incessant rules-lawyering (yeah, am that guy in-person) I started DMing and have since stopped because my in-person players were too individualistic to run together :/, it was like they were allergic to team work. I am building a campaign setting of my own atm complete with its own races, world, gods, and history but solo it's slow going. The maps are the most time consuming part, sooooooooo much detail o.O
DMTFY, just a personal observation, but I think my toon has evolved into a Chaotic Good character by accident. If you need me to shift alignment I'm cool with that, though we haven't hit a battle yet... He will have a much darker side when raging.

The trox barbarian closes his eyes and listens to the silence for a moment,"The spirits are silent in this place, they don't heed my requests for guidance,"he opens his eyes and turns towards the jungle once again, his tail held taut behind him,"Let us destroy the rotten heart of this forsaken place! Fall in and stay sharp!" Kor takes the first few steps into the jungle...
I would think a half-orc pally to be brooding but just. A kind of van helsing type of character that's needed but not wanted most places it goes.
Gnomes are tricky, I always play them as intense. Very verbal and expressive but a bit crazy. This one I just made is going to be more on the intense/eccentric side. Maybe a slight egomania will be fun to play especially if I get to keep the monkey (Coggles), at which point I project on him, like a borderline split personality disorder. Should be fun :). That marriage concept is something else, though :D. Marriage in-game would be pretty crazy to RP I'd think.
Just finished making a Gnome Iron Priest of Brigh for an Iron Gods game. I decided to work in a back story involving him training a monkey to assist him in his Crafting skills. Thought it was an interesting touch, lol.
"Alright then,"Kor faces the rest of the party with Izura hanging on to him,"once you are all ready we will delve into the jungle." If I survive this... I may rethink my path. It lead to such a dark and forgotten place. What good is a leader to the trox if he is so far from them...
"Good,"Kor's tone sharpens,"when I sign it will be with my left hand. Keep focused and always on guard, this lich isn't going to let us just stroll in." He turns to face Izura,"If you feel you'd be unable to communicate rapidly in this way I can carry you on my shoulder,"the trox barbarian taps his right shoulder with his hammer,"but you must hang on or jump off if we get into battle. "
"I seek only the book. My freedom is my reward,"Kor's massive bulk shifts to face the jungle,"Are any of you familiar with silent communication, as in with your hands?"
Kor grimaces. "A dead city with a dead ruler,"he hisses guardedly and then clacks with his maxillae,"to rule over the dead... seems fitting." The two large mandibles on his face flare out and snap together at the tips creating a sharp cracking sound every few seconds. Once ashore Kor stretches and nods to the rest of the group,"I can take point if none of you are opposed?"
Kor walks slowly into the stateroom and hefts his hammer, his plating flaring as he lifts the weapon up and checks to ensure that it's his. Glancing over at the feast before them he dons his lamellar armor almost ritualistically, the dark purple leather almost black in appearance. Everything appeared to be in his haversack. Propping his weapon against the table and sitting down he grabs a whole lobster and chomps through it in a matter of seconds. "At least our last meal is a grand affair,"the trox warrior pauses to guzzle some wine,"It's never a good omen to go to battle on an empty stomach."
