Hp rolls for Erna, his pet roc:

1d8 ⇒ 6
1d8 ⇒ 7
1d8 ⇒ 3 so 4

Kompden is updated to 4th level

Kompden hp rolls:

1d8 ⇒ 1 Yikes! 4
1d6 ⇒ 2 Yikes! 3
1d6 ⇒ 1 Yikes! 3

Good grief! Poor gnome!

I too would have to upgrade him, but here is Kompden Rizzlewind, a gnomish sorcerer with the sylvan bloodline and a pet roc...the flying kind. He will dip one level of synthesist as a manifestation of the First World influence that has taken over his life, and I'm contemplating a one level dip in nature oracle as well (depending on the GM's interpretation of how one of the revelations would work). His history and personality can be found in the profile.

Should be cool then.

But wouldn´t you like some more versality?

There's not much that's more versatile than summon monster spells, especially at later levels when they basically equal other spells (like lantern archons for the aid SLA).

Upon reaching 4th level, and at every even-numbered sorcerer level after that (6th, 8th, and so on), a sorcerer can choose to learn a new spell in place of one she already knows. In effect, the sorcerer loses the old spell in exchange for the new one. The new spell's level must be the same as that of the spell being exchanged. A sorcerer may swap only a single spell at any given level, and must choose whether or not to swap the spell at the same time that she gains new spells known for the level..

Am I mis-reading something here? He'll be taking summon monster 1 at 2nd sorcerer level as normal, then at 4th level, he'll take summon monster 2 as his second level spell and exchange summon monster 1 for some other first level spell. Then repeat at 6th, 8th, etc.

So, a list of who and what we have here:

Kompden Rizzlewind: gnome sylvan sorcerer with roc animal companion (dipping synthesist)
Tamaell: pitborn tiefling abyssal sorcerer (summoning and melee)
Tessara Bereleniel: elf synthesist summoner
Dolok Kadarn: human cavalier (order of the shield) (sword and board melee)
Leto V. Derexhi: halfling cavalier (order of the paw)
Tanith Petrovitch: human cleric (Ragathiel) melee

We have a lot of arcane support and summoning power (as a sorcerer Kompden will always be keeping the highest level summon monster spell learned, swapping it out for the next highest level every even level when he gets a new spell level). We have the divine covered for healing and status removal, and we have 2.5 (Tessara does double duty) melee brutes to keep the bad guys away from the squishy people.

With all the mounts and summons, not to mention a big party, these battlefields are really going to get crowded. Fortunately, that style of combat play really works well in PbP, as opposed to face-to-face where combat gets bogged down. Combat always gets bogged down in PbP, so it makes little difference what style we choose.

Looks like we could use a bit of ranged capabilities...

Kompden follows Desna, who inspired him to travel and explore, and whose agent led him to Erna, his pet roc.

Did we settle on 20 or 25 points?

Indeed, though tbh the first two parts literally calls for all mounts/familiars/animal companions to be out of the picture. So Erna while not being able to help you out in the beginning, will more then be able to help after that.

The other option is that you bring her with and she dies before he first player posts even happen and I don't want do that.

My math sucked I only -6, not -12. So yeah 8 and 13.

The first two parts as in the first two of the six modules, or the first two chapters if the first module? The latter is not a big deal, but the former is about 18 months of a PbP game.

So I guess Kompden would have plenty of opportunities to bring Erna, his roc, into battle. She starts as a medium-sized roc, so she'll fit in dungeons, etc. She might have to make a few flying checks to navigate really tight quarters, but that's okay.

I am fine with either the 20 point buy or the system you posted above. With Niesen, a rearranged scores on your 1:1 system into something that approixmated the array I felt he needed, and ended up with a 12-point buy. With this guy, he's a 17 point buy.

May I ask, does this campaign involve a lot of indoor/dungeon adventuring, or more open outdoors like Kingmaker? If the former, Niesen would be much more enjoyable to play, the latter Kompden here.
