Thanks for all the feedback guys... I think I'll take the advice and subscribe to the AP in a few weeks (to start the new adventure path) and get the CS book and PDF. Buying the hard copy off of Amazon is almost too tempting, especially as I have a credit there for about $40, so it would actually be 'free', despite my desire to order direct from Paizo when possible. Speaking of which, if I subscribe and pre-order the Ruleset, I would qualify for a discount to that, right? Right. So that's the plan then. Thanks again, folks!

Welcome, Knight of the Gate! It's nice to see you also here (in addition to Candlekeep). :)

Hey there, Asgetrion and Ashe! Good to see other CK-ers here. I can't imagine ever abandoning the Realms entirely... but this Golarion stuff is pretty sweet. I (and my group) are SUPER excited to kick off the new game.

So, (again, to avoid a new thread) a n00b question: What PF products, in which order, would you get to DM a Golarion adventure with (say) a $100 budget? I have all the free stuff, and now need to start spending my filthy luchre. Would I be wise to get a subscription? if so, what level? Sorry to derail the thread a bit, but since I know a few of you posting on this thread, I'd like to get your (and anyone elses') feedback.

I'd like to echo KEJR's thinking: My players are notoriously reticent to shell out for expensive (above US$25) books, and this leads to them using my books at the table, as well as borrowing them for character advancement, etc. Now that my table is going full-bore PFRPG, I will be insisting that they each purchase a PDF, and for $9.99, i can't imagine any of them balking. This is in addition to the hardcopy I have pre-ordered and the PDF I will be buying for myself for search purposes.

To wit, that's 5 PDFs sold to people that would NEVER have bought a $40+ book, plus a PDF sold to a gamer (me) that was gonna buy the dead-tree product regardless- that's 6 extra copies to 1 gaming group, and I'd bet there will be a lot of that going around.

I didn't want to start my own thread for this, since it's just a hearty 'aye-aye' to the OP, but I'm in the same boat. I downloaded the beta 3 or 4 months ago, but hadn't really switched to it whole hog, as I had a long-standing 3.5 FR game going on.
Now that the players and I have decided to take a hiatus from that game (a group of 18-20th level that they've been playing off and on for years) I shared the beta with them and I've seen a level of excitement that my group hasn't had in years. The OP hit it on the head with the main reason: Pathfinder is of ridiculously high quality. I CANNOT wait to start the new group next weekend.

I am gagging for epic rules that make sense. I am certain that Pathfinder is capable of delivering it to me.

BTW, thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you for asking.
