Anatomist +1 to confirm critical hits.
Combat Expertise +/-1 Bonus to AC in exchange for an equal penalty to attack.
Improved Trip You Trip at +2 and don't cause an attack of opportunity.

-So the basic idea is to make this a controller-type fighter with a trip-capable reach weapon.

- In the future, I'll add
combat reflexes,
dodge,
mobility,
spring attack (?)
combat patrol (?)
greater trip,
improved critical (guisarme)
lunge (?)

Other feats?

- The sword 'n' board are more-or less temporary, until I get more manouverability in combat.

- Before anybody criticizes me for wasting points on INT and Wisdom, given the increasing marginal cost of higher dex, it works out better this way in the long run. I'll probably put two points into dex to get another AOO and +1 to AC.

Liberty's Edge

So I had my first session two wednesdays ago (great time) but I'd like to possibly use the char with another group. Can I just go ahead and claim the XP, gold, and PA when I show up with my chronicle sheets or will the world explode?

Liberty's Edge

Does it make sense to take a 1-level dip into monk, and then max out wisdom for all it's worth? (In order to tie offense, defense, and casting into a single stat.)

My goal is to get a good utility caster who also has a solid *non-magical* offensive option. And archery is just fun.

This will be a PFS build, most likely.

Liberty's Edge

So the polearm template for fighters in the APG looks like a great deal of fun for a tactical-minded melee build.

What feat progression looks like it would capitalize most on the pole-armer's abilities?

- At first glance, the dodge/mobility/spring attack tree looks like it could be a lot of fun.

- A second thought would be the expertise/combat maneuver feats (particularly tripping) in order to maximize the battlefield control aspects of the build.

Thoughts? - this would be for a PFS character, so it's limited to a maximum of 14 feats.

Liberty's Edge

. . . and it was great!

I've played a fair number of pnp roleplaying systems, but had not actually sat down at a table with anyone and gamed since. . . 1992. So it was a bit of an odd feeling coming back into it.

Our group was well-organized, friendly, and helpful in a very newb-friendly. I had forgotten how much fun it was to throw some dice around with live humans. Thanks PFS!

Liberty's Edge

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

Sorry if this has been beaten to death. . . I spent several hours looking through this site and have found contradicatory info.

Anyway,

Can a wizard perform somatic spell components with hand that holds a (single-handed) bonded weapon?

Common sense seems to suggest "yes" if only for reasons of flavor. rapier is a *great* tool for gesturing and pointing at things. Otherwise, I can't see any reason to bond a weapon as opposed to a ring.

Finally, has this been definitively ruled on or is their merely a lot of well-intentioned speculation? Normally I wouldn't care (and houserule it), but this is for a pathfinder society character. Thanks!
