I think it's reasonable to try to finish within the allotted timeframe, if possible. Since starship combat is so new, it's still hard to really figure out timing for things like this.

Hi guys! This is Cartmanbeck, ready to go with Kimp the ysoki vidgamer/mechanic. :) "Griefer", as his former friends called him, has spent his whole life playing vidgames, but the servers for the game in which he made the bulk of his money recently inexplicably shut down and cut him off financially, and he has decided to take some of the skills he learned in that game out into the universe. He'd like the Pilot role during space combat, if possible, but he could also be the Engineer. Note that I spent almost all of his money on a dataport (for roleplaying purposes, mostly), so while he does have a gun, he has only 12 shots in it until he gets a little money to pick up some additional cartridges. :-S Chronicle: 1
