Il try to elaborate a bit, I’m working on my char and hade this idea about him having a weapon that he was given by his grandfather that he carries and I didn’t want to do the stereo type old Gandalf wizard with a staff.
So I was thinking about having him carry sword instead and even if he was not able to use it in a strait up fight, and after looking over the power I was thinking that I could use it on the sword.
It doesn’t say anything about what weapon I can use for it.

You cause your melee weapon to fly from your grasp and strike a foe before instantly returning to you. As a standard action, you can make a single attack using a melee weapon at a range of 30 feet. This attack is treated as a ranged attack with a thrown weapon, except that you add your Intelligence modifier on the attack roll instead of your Dexterity modifier (damage still relies onStrength). This ability cannot be used to perform a combat maneuver. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Intelligence modifier.
