Kevin steps forward pressing the attack on the woman.

Kevin looks annoyed at the fire on him. He places a hand on his chest briefly and heals some of his wounds. He then steps forward and attacks the woman as he says "You are the one serving the imposters and will suffer the consequences when you die."
Kevin shakes his head as the weapon misses him as he moves in. He is appalled when the woman attacks Amelia and moves off taking a swing at her as she goes. He then moves over Amelia and attacks the woman again this time putting everything into he has, "For that attack you will not get the chance of surrender!"
Hearing the scream Kevin runs into the next room, drawing his scimitar as he moves and comes up behind the one who attacked Amelia. He yells "Take on someone who can challenge you fiend!"
Kevin smiles at the boys "My name is Kevin, while I have my own burdens to bare I am not quite like you but know the fears others have in those different all too well. We are not here to kill you. I didn't even want to kill them but they refused to repent their evil ways and had to be redeemed by the sword. I would much have preferred they surrender to us and give up their evil ways and step into the light. Let's get you out of those chains and get you looked at and fed. If there is anything left in that pot you are welcome to it. If you don't want it we have food we can give you."
That sucks Joska. I am glad to hear you are all right. Hopefully things will get back to whatever is normal for you quickly.
Kevin sheathes his sword and approaches the slaves empty hands out, "We were sent this way from Neatholm. Chief Sull told us of the evil ones living here and of their working with the demon cultists. I gather from these chains you are not of the evil tribe. Do you know where the keys are for those chains so we can set you free?" He uses his detect evil ability to make sure neither is evil.
Kevin steps up and attacks the remaining enemy.
Kevin steps up and attacks, "You had a chance to surrender now you go to tortured by the demons you serve forever!"
Kevin looks down at Missy and nods, "You want to grab me an ax from their weapons? I'm not dulling my sword on that door."
Kevin sees the door slam in front of him and says "Help me Joska, that sounded like a solid thud."
Kevin smiles a toothy grin and says "Rempent of your evil ways and surrender or die like the rest!" as he swings at the first in line.
Kevin moves down by the hallway and nods, scimitar at the ready.
Kevin stands up straight as the robed one falls and looks around. He walks over to his scimitar and picks it up and then cleans both of his weapons and returns the morningstar to it's place. Kevin looked at his wounds and says "I did take some hits there. Thankfully I am able to heal wounds as well as attack at the same time. I am still wounded though not as badly as I would be otherwise. Let's see what we can find here and then search these other rooms."
Kevin again heals himself and attacks the robed one saying "Your allies are down! Repent and choose to live!"
Kevin slaps his hand against his chest healing some of his damage and surveys the scene. Between two foes wasn't a place to be but moving would expose his friends. He attacked the robed one, hopping his demise would cause the others to yield.
Kevin drops his scimitar, frowns, shrugs and pulls out his morningstar as he takes a step forward and attacks the cultist. He says "Your tricks won't make you any less dead."
Kevin returns the attack from the cultist and says to those in front of him "Give up now and get to live! You don't think we made it this far without being capable of killing all of you? You have a chance at redemption."
Kevin moves forward into the room.
Kevin waits with Joska and when they are all ready he will take his place in the doorway waiting for someone to open it. "When we are ready I'll be first through the door. You can take the next one Joska. We'll just need someone to open it."
Kevin moves through the rooms gathering gear and adding it to the pile. After it is all gathered he says "If no one else wants it I'll take that bow and some arrows. I'm no archer but it may prove useful if we have to engage someone at range." He then studies their options and says "If no one heard anything through those closed doors it may be best to leave them for now. I would close that other door to limit sound getting through and then say we head down the stairs."
Kevin tries to take out the last mongrel and then makes room for Joska.
Kevin waits to see what happens up front.
Kevin looks around and sees all of their enemies down and says "Good work everyone! Looks like we have more company." He then moves toward the other door.
Kevin attacks the mongrelman hopeing to eliminate one more of them. He says to the group "We have the better of them! Let's finish them off."
When the door opens Kevin attacks with his scimitar hoping to score a hit on the mongrel before it is ready.
Kevin looks around and says to everyone, "Grab your gear then we hand the ones outside. Joska and I at the front and the rest behind us. It would be good for two of you to guard that door the bowman went out. When we are ready if someone would open the doors. Does anyone need healing?" He then begins to put the rest of his gear on and readies his scimitar for battle.
Kevin tries to clear a path to go after the archer attacking the mongrel again.
Kevin again stabs at the one he bit. He then tries to follow the one to the south door.
Kevin spits flesh out out his mouth and shouts "Oh! That is disgusting! Not going to do this again! Nope!" as he pulls his dagger and attacks the mongrel he bit.
As the mongrelman licks him Kevin frees his hands and then bites the creature!
Kevin looks around the room and waits to see if anyone closes the door. As soon as it is closed he will free his hands and attack.
I have 2 lay on hands to use before bed on others, I'll use one on myself only down 3 so even a 1 roll and the rest will bring be back to full. If you want a LoH here are 2 rolls just claim them.
Kevin stretches out the stiffness from the night and then rummages in his pack. He pulls out a coffee pot, a bag of coffee and a silver cup. He fills the pot and puts it on the fire and waits. He then removes it, barehanded and adds the coffee. After a few minutes he pours the steaming black liquid into the silver cup and takes a drink. He says "Mmmmmm. Nothing to get you going like a cup of hot coffee in the morning. I'm not myself until I've had a cup. When Horgus has his outburst Kevin looks at him and says [b]"I am a paladin of Sarenrae. I keep my word. He is offering those not use to combat the option to stay safe here. You are welcome to do as you wish but I for one will not abandon you here except upon your request. Would you care for some coffee?"
Kevin shakes his head and says "No we can't and we shouldn't leave a bunch of demon worshipers here if we can get rid of them. They might even have information about what happened on the surface."
Kevin smiles largely at the Chief and says "A good home cooked meal would be a delight! I have had to subsist on my own cooking or dried meals since my mother's passing. Many thanks to you."
Kevin looks around in awe as they enter the large chamber. He mutters "It is tremendous." and lets out a quiet whistle. He keeps his eyes open as they walk through town taking it all in. When they enter the City Hall he nods as he sees they banners. He then says to Callen "Yes they do. I recognize many of them from my parents time here and talking to the veterans." As Chief Sull speaks Kevin notices the small bat but says nothing. Kevin then speaks "It is better than it was up there. My parents left Kenabres when I was born to avoid the persecution even though they were devout followers of Iomadae and Sarenrae. I have only just returned to the city of my birth to see it besieged by demons, it's great protector dragon slain and the Kite destroyed. We ask you help in getting us to the surface and ask for help against the demons there."
As he is handed the poition Kevin says "I have two of those plus the ability to heal, someone might be better of with that than I. If not I will take it."
Kevnin falls in beside Lann and marches onward, "If it's ok I'll join you at the front in case we run into any more of those traitors. I know all too well that looks on the outside are not a marker for what is on the inside."
Kevin runs in ready to fight the monster and pulls up short seeing the scene of death. He turns to the group and says "Well that was anticlimactic." He carefully looks through the corpses and helps gather their gear. "Some of this may prove useful. That abomination of a bull's head needs to be destroyed though. It looks like the crusade has been infiltrated by worshipers of the demons."
Kevin smiles at Missy and gets down on one knee. "Thank you very much."
Kevin pauses for a minute at Lann's question not sure if he is asking when or where he was born and decides to answer both questions, "I was born up in Kenebras in the second half of the first crusade. My parents spent a long time fighting before they met and were inseparably after they met and married. When I was born they felt they had to step away from the conflict seeing what the Demonic energies did to me. The Tempering Hall in Absalom trains paladins from many faiths and most end up here. My parents helped train many who came here and fought. My siblings have all spent time here as have my nieces and nephews and too many cousins to count." When advised of the danger ahead Kevin says "I will be happy to fight by your side." He is set to lead the way in when Nicolette and then Callen sneak in. He shakes his head and waits a few moments for them to signal before entering.
Kevin steps forward to walk with Lann and smiles at the gesture he makes. He smiles a large toothy grin at Lann and says to him "You bring back pleasant memories. I haven't seen that sign since I was a little child and my mother used to make it. That was so many years ago. She was a paladin like myself except a servant of Iomadae; my father a cleric of Sarenrae. She returned to Absalom with my father when I was born like this up in Kenebras. They are both gone now and I continue the family tradition of serving in these Crusades. I will be happy to take the lead with you through these caverns if you will allow it."
Kevin smiles as the man is freed and approaches Lan afterward with his hand out. "My name is Kevin. Nice to meet you." When Gwerm explodes Kevin rushes back to him "Did you forget so quickly! Look at me! Are they worse looking than I? Have I not bleed for your safety? If it makes you feel better I am able to detect evil and will do so on each of them!"
Kevin shakes his head at Callen "No, I won't try to trick them but I can stand ready. Go ahead Joska and Missy take the lead and I will back you up."
Kevin listens to the report and says "If they are hostile they will attack when we approach. We go in and offer help and see what happens. I would lead the way but they may not like my looks. Joska would you go with me?"
Kevin looks at Aravashnial and says "Do you think you could hold on to me and I will take both of us up? Someone else could carry my backpack and gear."
Kevin looks down at the dwarf and says "We gave him a chance at surrender, redemption and life. He chose not to take it. Let's move on. Maybe fate will intervene on his behalf, that is unless that book condemns him some how or saves him."
Kevin steps up as he says "I gave you a chance. Now be redeemed by the sword!"
