"Their choice of landscaping is a little...sickening," Kennen says, going a little pale. If this was the place he was probably going to regret going in there. If not, he'd just as soon avoid it. "I lost track of where we were a few hours ago. Aren't we looking for a hidden city of giants? I doubt this is it."

Also, hold on there buddy. I didn't say the whole chest. Just a portion enough to continue this one or fund another. I doubt that would take the whole chest.

Kennen looked at Dolpho at the same time the wizard looked at him. And unfortunately, he could see the same conflicted emotions. That was not what he expected. He expected Rodolpho to be the voice of reason. To tell them that these people would be fine and they would move on. Kennen would hem and haw and offer poorly disguised reasons to stay with the pretty half-elf woman but he'd relent in the end. But nooooo, he had to go and be the responsible one and save the world possibly. Kennen scratches his head and cries out in frustration. "We...gotta leave. Fate of the world maybe. Important mission and all that."

Kennen hefts the small chest, medium chest to him, and walks out the door. "Shame we couldn't find a cure. Looks like rest is their only medicine. A little bit of this," he says, indicating the chest, "should help fund a new venture. I don't think her current one is going to get too far too fast."

Kennen holds up his hands and backs away from the goblin in a non-threatening way. He walks around the house looking around but not actually accomplishing much. He had no idea what he was looking at in here. She may not have had a cure or antidote at all.

"Well done," Kennen says in congratulations. He leans over to help Kee-rik onto the raft but it sinks dangerously. "Oh, right. Can you swim back? This thing probably can't handle even your weight." He paddles back to the house and hopes off, looking around for the goblin girl. "Um, not sure what the circumstances are for this." he says indicating her situation with the hag. "Sorry about your boss? Teacher? Master? I think you are free to go if you want. But if you could, do you know if there is a cure for whatever she did to the people that passed by her previously?"

Kennen rows 20ft closer to the underwater battle. He wasn't sure what he would do once he get there but he'd probably think of something...probably.

Kennen inhales deeply with his fists touching in front of his chest to recenter himself. Kee-rik and hadn't come up yet so he assumed he was still fighting. This hag was a lot tougher than he thought. He looks around for a means of fighting her and spots the raft. He walks over to it and shouts for Dolpho. "Let's go."

Standard to regain a maneuver (Encouraging Roar). Move to get to the raft.

I delayed until after the hag which moves me to the bottom. Then I used Encouraging Roar and nothing else. I am done. Everyone else can go.

"Seems Kee-rik has a bead on her," Kennen says to himself. He then cups his hands around his mouth, takes a deep breath and shouts. "Go get her little buddy!" The shout is far more powerful than one would think his little body could produce. It makes all that here it feel empowered.

Encouraging Roar. All allies within 30 ft get a +2 morale bonus to attack and damage rolls for a round. Hope Kee-rik is close enough. Hrungir probably isn't though.

Kennen clambers out of the water and tosses the hair out of his eyes.
"Well I was helpful." He looks around. "Where'd she go?" He sees Dolpho looking at the water and Hrungir disappear and reappear on the other side of the swamp. Catching on, he scans the water to but sees nothing.

One moment a door is there and Kennen has his ear pressed against it. The next, he and the door are gone. A splash is heard several feet away. Kennen and the door resurface, a dazed look on the halfling's face. Someone get a description of that charging bull?

Kennen walks up the door and listens first in case any incantations were being cast.

If not, he knocks on the door. "Ma'am. You can't poison people for what they might do. We find the people you spoke of not to far away in awful condition. They said they started feeling bad right after they left here. Now they are stuck in the wild, sick, trying to get over what you did to them."

"Guys. What. Ugh," Kennen starts with a frustrated groan. "Of course something isn't right. You pounced on old woman. Granted she is very suspicious but c'mon." He looks over at Olki and asks, "Can you take me across so we can sort this out?"

Kennen looks at Rodolpho confused. His expression turns pained as he let's the cat out of the bag. He couldn't wait until they got across the moat? Within attack range should something happen. Kennen really hoped that blinkdog Hrungir could get them across.

Kennen looks at Rodolpho, then at the raft, then sighs. He got the feeling the old woman wasn't evil, just really paranoid. If they could convince her they weren't bad, they might be able to get a cure from her. He gives one last look at the forest and his apparently overly paranoid companions before hoping on the raft. "Uh. Thank you." He tries to smile winningly at the goblin girl but it was hard. He'd never been comfortable with goblins and the outfit did not go well with goblin green.

Were we invited in or not? She sent Olki to fetch us but then says good bye.

Kennen is about to correct the old woman and say he could handle himself but shuts his mouth a moment later. Wasn't worth it.

Kennen's eyes widened a bit at the goblin girl. How in the world did that happen and why? As first impressions go, Kennen was leaning towards foul play with the men in the clearing rather than accident. He did not fancy going into that house alone. "There you guys are," he says turning back to the woods. "What took you so long?" He takes a few steps in his companions' direction and subtly signals them to come out.

I don't think Kennen knows what a Blink Dog can do so its up to your own initiative but I think Hrungir can teleport across no problem. He could stay hidden and out of sight just in case.

Probably should have handed over the lead before going on vacation. But I am back.

"Ha. I bet I look like a child," Kennen says with an amused grin. "But no. I am a Halfling. And I am a not alone." He turns to look at a different section of the forest that others are waiting in. "My companions are around here somewhere. I tend to go ahead a lot. The wanderlust take me many places but I've seen nothing quite like this. It is impressive." Kennen waited for a reaction to the fact that he had friends nearby and if she'd still invite him over as she had Celia's men.

"An excellent idea," Kennen says, agreeing with Dolpho. He waves a hand at Hrungir saying, "Certainly not abandoning, just a slight detour. Also, she's a half-elf. But the Warden is right. Best to get these guys on their feet first. Might be the old woman was a witch. If that's the case she might have an antidote we can...persuade her to gift us. Or if it was a mistake, she still might know of way to help correct her mistake. Which way did you come from?"

Whose Morgtii and Raigh again? Are they the two we replaced?

Kennen lightens at the chance to rid the area of Mukar an his roving band but deflates at the suggestion to move on. "You sure you guys can handle it? I mean this is a good defensive position but we broke in pretty easy," he says, hopeful they can stick around a little longer.

Then a light appears in his eyes as he smiles at Varamar. "He's also undead and can't feel. We can shove him a very small box with just his head poking out. Then drop him on his smarmy face if gets uppity."

"Mukar. Mukar." Kennen mumbles the name a few times trying to remember where he heard it. Then he snaps his fingers. "Oh yeah. Harrol, one of the mercenaries we brought, mentioned him. Hobgoblin that's been hitting all the farms nearby. Pretty big bounty too. So this is he's fort?" he says looking around. Mukar either had a pretty good tactical mind or was lucky to get this place. Probably the latter since it was so under-maned.

He turns to the prisoner, a wicked smile on his face. "Unfortunately Mukar is still out there and you just told us he doesn't have the book. The giants do. Now, my silent friend here is a pretty good tracker," he says pointing to Warden. "So are the ones up stairs. We could probably find the giants ourselves but it might be faster if you tell us where the ambush took place and which way they went. Unfortunately, you haven't been the best conversational partner. Very aggressive. Very demeaning. And we don't exactly need you. We could leave you in there. Once Mukar comes back and finds his fort ransacked, I am sure he will not be happy. Then again, he now has a talking corpse to play with. I am sure he find an entertaining use for that. Probably something verrry embarrassing for a man of your capabilities and intellect."

He looks around the tower and back at the group coming from the top. "How exactly did you get in here? Pretty solid defenses out front." As if he hadn't just negated those defenses with a single bound.

"No I said Dolpho. That guy," he says, pointing at Rodolpho. "Also I am not human." He gestures to the humans height as if that should be obvious. "Also also, greetings Hrungir. I am Kennen. Do I sniff too or shake a paw or what?" How did one greet an obviously intelligent animal?

That is another thing. How are you casting any spells? Every single one of those spells except True Strike has a Somatic component and that one needs a material component. If he can't open a door, how can he cast a spell or retrieve a materiel component?

Polymorphing:
When you cast a polymorph spell that changes you into a creature of the animal, dragon, elemental, magical beast, plant, or vermin type, all of your gear melds into your body. Items that provide constant bonuses and do not need to be activated continue to function while melded in this way (with the exception of armor and shield bonuses, which cease to function). Items that require activation cannot be used while you maintain that form. While in such a form, you cannot cast any spells that require material components (unless you have the Eschew Materials or Natural Spell feat), and can only cast spells with somatic or verbal components if the form you choose has the capability to make such movements or speak, such as a dragon. Other polymorph spells might be subject to this restriction as well, if they change you into a form that is unlike your original form (subject to GM discretion). If your new form does not cause your equipment to meld into your form, the equipment resizes to match your new size.

I didn't realize we were going to level 5 so a caster is probably best since they don't get a lot until after that but how is he going to even cast?

Now that Hrungir is back and the fight is over, I'd like say that I have some reservation about a Blink Dog PC. Seems very unfair. Just to point some things out.

Ability Scores: You receive +4, +4, +2, +2, +0, and –2 to your ability scores, placed as you see fit
HP: Creatures whose 1st HD come from racial HD do not receive Max HP, so you'd receive 18 + (half+1 class HD)+ (con bonus x4)
Fort+3, Ref+3, Will+1, BAB+3
Permanent Blink
At Will 400ft teleportation as a swift action.
Full Caster
Scent

I don't know if the character sheet is right but you currently have a full BAB, one extra HD over us, better saves, 50% miss chance all the time, essentially permanent ghost touch, swift action teleportation, and full casting. AC is the only thing low but spells can fix that too.

Well, it seems the creatures in the pin were on their side now. That was good. And they could teleport. Oh boy. Really good they were on their side. Kennen drops the bow and makes for the keep behind the mercenaries.

Double move towards the doors. Next to Harrol I think.

Go to Play-by-Post at the top. Click Focus and Show Hidden (circle with a line through it) and do a search. You'll have to use ctrl-find. Focus shows you things you have viewed previously and show hidden is self explanatory. You'll have to unhide the thread. There should be a circle with a line through it next to the gameplay thread. You can't use the search bar because that won't have the button to unhide it. Ctrl-Find and search through the pages manually. Good luck.

"Aw." Kennen was a little disappointed in the end there. He made such a good showing getting over the wall and then the others come in and steal the glory. But there isn't time to think about that. There was dog...things to save. What in the world where they and, "What the hell is that?" he asks, pointing at the heart. It looked like it was harming them. Kennen looks around and spies the bow the now dead goblin had dropped. Hmm.

Shortbow: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Pick up bow from dead goblin and shoot for the heart...thing.

Emboldened by the appearance of his allies and their thunderous entrance, Kennen dives and rolls out from between the enemies to circle behind the goblin. Once behind his foe, he waits a moment for it to turn toward him, "Oi. Ugly," then delivers a palm strike to its ugly face.

Acro vs Goblin dog: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 11 + 2 = 18
Acro vs Goblin: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 11 + 2 = 28

Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 2 = 10
Damage: 1d3 + 4 + 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 4 + (1) + 2 = 8

Swift to declare Acrobatic Gambit against Goblin. Move to acro around goblin, one for goblin and dog. Standard for attack +gambit reward. Only the acro needs to be successful to get maneuvers back. 2 in this case. Rules are in the gambit section of profile.

Three on one? Those were good enough odds. And he might be able to make them better if he took out the biggest threat, which in this case was also the biggest target. Kennen roars out like a lion as he charges the bugbear.

Kennen's main damage came from striking sensitive parts of his opponents body. His first strike was to the solar plexus but the bugbear was fatter than he thought and all he hit was flab. The second he aimed for a guaranteed soft spot. A high kick to the jaw.

Swift for Encouraging Roar. All allies get +2 attack and damage for a round. Flurry Strike for standard attack.
