Male Human Bard 1

Meanwhile at the Dragon
Kendrick finishes pouring his glass of wine as Bethana heads upstairs to prepare Amekios bath. As he sits down he toasts Ameikos own glass and says, "to your health milady and to surviving where many would not."
After a few minutes, and another glass of wine, he continues, "Well Lady Ameiko, it is fortunate that it was I that brought you back and not one of the others. You see I understand something of the culture Tian Xia and how important appearance is to honor there. The event's of today, if allowed to portrayed in the wrong light could unfortunately leave a stain upon your families honor that would be impossible to remove, I'm sure you agree."
Taking another sip of his wine he continues, "I was thinking an really it seems to me that you brother must have been under the control of a goblin shaman. At the very least it would be foolish to rule out that possibility until he's been magically interrogated."
Noticing the halfling coming back down the stairs he says, "Ah Bethana! I'm glad your back."
Turning back to Ameiko he says,"I'm afraid that I must leave you briefly now, in the care of your maid milady. I have need of haste in reporting the events of the day to the authorities. Unfortunately certain well-meaning yet foolish members of my party are unlikely to see things as clearly as I do and if they report what happened at the glassworks first, well lets just say that I'd rather spare you from having to defend your honor, life, and home from a torch wielding mob."
Kendrick stands, grabs his hat off the table and places it on his head while finishing his glass. Then he says, "Bethana I leave your lady in your care briefly, fear not for I shall return shortly. Farewell!"

Male Human Bard 1

Finally arriving at the Dragon with Ameiko, Kendrick opens the door and helps the lady cross the threshold. He then calls out "Bethana! Bethana!" Looking around he helps Ameiko to a seat. When he sees Bethana he says, "there you are my good Bethana. Your lady has had a terrible experience today. Would you be kind enough to bring some wine and then draw a hot bath in your mistresses quarters?"
He begins to massage Ameikos shoulders as he says to her, "well milady we have arrived safely. Soon the events of today will be naught but a bad memory."

Male Human Bard 1

"Of course my lady, it'd be my honor. Let us depart this foul place with all speed and return you to the comfort of your quarters" replies Kedrick.

He observes her to see if she could use any more healing. If so he'll cast cure light wounds

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick will of course offer to escort the lady.

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick will ask the others, as he cannot see into the room from his vantage I suppose, "what was that whimper?"

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick will spend a moment looking around for any signs of a secret passage, perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17. If he doesn't find any, he'll head back towards the closest side passage.

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick will inspect the crates and sacks to see what's in them. Also to see if there's any indication where they came from.

Male Human Bard 1

"Well nothin's going to get accomplished just sitting around here talkin' about it. It's time to find an answer to your question Tregar, about what is at the end of the long passage." With that, Kendrick heads cautiously down the passageway.

Male Human Bard 1

Casting light on his rapier, which he has just drawn, Kendrick says, "Well now, this looks interesting. Who's going first? Personally I nominate young Drexel here."

Male Human Bard 1

"Hmmm, you do have a point at that, Ensu." Kendrick then quiets down, but continues to look for anything that may point to Ameikos current whereabouts.

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick will start moving around while continuing to yell out Amiekos name. But he'll also start looking for any kind of clue to where she may be.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Male Human Bard 1

"Thank you my friend," replies Kendrick. "Good shot yourself. I think that these poor fellows may be beyond help, but regardless I've come to find the lady Ameiko. LADY AMEIKO," Kendrick yells out. "ARE YOU HERE?"

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick will continue to inspire courage, while looking for a beam or something similar to attach his whip to. If he sees one he will attempt to attach his whip 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 and swing down into the building, knocking over a goblin if possible. CMB for bull rush? 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Male Human Bard 1

"Oh, goblins are a nuisance,
That is best dealt with a blade,

And goblins are annoying,
At least until they're slain,

Oh, we love to kill them everyday,
And if you ask us why we'll say,

Because collecting goblin ears is an easy way to get paid!"

With apologies to the Oscar Meyer bologna song

Inspire courage

Climb 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Male Human Bard 1

"I have been through my fair share of windows as well, if you'd like any company, er uh, Drexel was it?"

Male Human Bard 1

"Well you've both been kind, and it never hurts to have a beautiful innkeeper in your debt ..."
Noticing the scathing looks from the others, he continues "What? I was just sayin is all. In jest of course. I speak not for the others but as for myself, I shall seek out the lady Ameiko. Just let me gather my belongings."
Standing, Kendrick gives a slight bow and says, "Fear not good Bethana, Ameiko shall soon be returned to you."

Male Human Bard 1

As Kendrick chokes down the last of the oysters he says in a slightly choked voice, as he reaches for another mug of water, "what's the matter darlin'? You haven't been harmed have ya?"

Male Human Bard 1

"I'll hold you to that invitation, master Aldred" Kendrick says with smile and a wave.
Then he turns to Ensu and says, "I suppose he has a point about it being late. We should return to the inn, although I imagine it is quite crowded. Shall we?"

Male Human Bard 1

"Huh? I thought we took care of the goblin 'problem'. Besides hunting goblins isn't what brought me or I daresay yourself, master Ensu to Sandpoint. It was to learn about the cultures that were here before us as Ezren would say. Speaking of Ezren where is he? And what is this help that you're speaking of?"

Male Human Bard 1

"I saw none of those things, Master Brodert. To me it looked like a giant marble, swirling with a multitude of colors and hues. I counted it a trick of my mind, but for a moment there it looked like those colors formed into a giant eye and that it winked at me. Silly I know, but you asked what I saw."

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick steps up to the telescope and puts his eye to the eyepiece. For several moments he says nothing and then he steps back and wipes a tear from his eye. "It's so, so, well there are no words to describe it's beauty. It's amazing to see another world, a whole nother world. It doesn't even matter what world it is. Kind of bogs the mind. And the stars! I've never realized there were so many. I can see why a person might come to worship Desna. It seems that I could spend my whole life staring at the sky through this and never see the same thing twice. Simply incredible! Thank you for sharing this with me master Brodert."

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick hurries up the steps and comes to a stop next to Brodert. "I must confess master Brodert, to never having looked through one of these before. How does it work? What am I supposed to see?"

Male Human Bard 1

Just about the time Kendrick has made up his mind to follow the others inside he notices a well armed woman walking down the street towards the mayors office. As he watches her stroll confidently into the building, a shiver goes up his back ' a hard one there no doubt. She's law for sure. Well I hope they make it out okay. Best be headed to make the appointment with master Brodert, he thinks. And with that he heads off towards the telescope, hoping that perhaps he'll see Ensu or Ezren there this evening.

Sorry I haven't been posting much. I just moved, started a new job, and am working on getting into a new program at a new school. To top it all off I'm stuck with a crappy old laptop and spotty internet!

Male Human Bard 1

Welcome all! And I must say, damm we have a large group!

Kendrick will follow from a distance attempting to keep out of sight. Stealth 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick tinks to himself,I don't believe that I've done anything against the law, but I've been wrong before so I best leave it up to fate
He reaches into his pouch, produces a coin and flips it into the air 1=heads, I'll go downstairs or 2=tails, I'll go out the window
1d2 ⇒ 2
Right then he thinks as he slips back into Jylans room. "Master Jylan, I have need of your window" he says as he slips through it. "If they ask, tell 'em I went to Old Light!"
Acrobatics check to avoid fall damage 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Then he slips away and hides somewhere where he can observe the front door to the Dragon.
Stealth 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick thanks Jylan for his assistance, and gets up and opens the door making to leave saying "well then I hope to see you shortly in Magnimar."
He stops as he hears the commotion downstairs. Perception check to hear what is said 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Male Human Bard 1

Entering the room, Kendrick closes the door behind him. "Well sir, I heard your tales in the taproom and I confees to a bit of guilt pleasure in hearing them for as a younger man some of my greatest pleasure was in reading the Pathfinder Chronicles when I could get my hands on one. I have often hoped to meet with a member of the Society and perhaps record one of their tales."
Looking around, Kendrick pills up an unused piece of furniture and uses it as a seat. "But be that as it may, I'm thinking that it's a bit late for a another tale, although you may surprise me. No, what I wanted first and formost was advice. See my companions and myself have come across what we believe to be an Azlanti ruin in the tickwood." He pauses for a moment while he pulls out his journal and rubbings and hands them to Jylan.
"These are my notes and a copy of some of the runes found at the site. It would appear to be a barrow, although the large blocks outside seem to be a calander of some sort. One that ended on the day of Arodens disappearance."
"Now, I'm sure you must have investigated my ruins like this. Is there any advice you can giveme regarding this ruin? Or perhaps I can convince you to delay your journey south one day and accompany my companions and myself to the site tomorrow? I'm sure it would be worth your while"
Diplomacy 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
"Secondly, I was curious as to how one becomes a Pathfinder? Is it a matter of skill? Luck? Wealth? The right connections? A combination of all these things? I admit that membership in the Society has long, as it were, been a goal of mine. It's exciting to think what I could do with access to lore and resources such as are possessed by the Society. The discoveries I could make.", he finishes with a crooked grin and a faraway look.

Male Human Bard 1

"Thank you my dear", says Kendrick with a slight bow. He then heads upstairs and knocks on the door of room 5. "Master Jylan, my name is Kendrick, might I have a couple words with you regarding your affiliation?"

Male Human Bard 1

A few moments after Jylan goes upstairs, Kendrick announces to the table that he's done for the evening. Amid the groans, he smiles and says, "don't worry you'll have your chance to win back some of your coin tomorrow evening."

Spoiler:
Curious as to how much I won, don't forget the cards are marked ;)

He then gets up and asks Ameiko, "so your friend is a Pathfinder eh? I was wondering if I might have a few words with him. Could you please tell me what room he's in my dear?"

Male Human Bard 1

As Kendrick enters the Dragon he looks around and smiles at Amieko saying, "Lady Ameiko do we have a surprise for you."
He then mage hands a tankard of ale to his hand. As he takes a swig and looks around the taproom again his gaze stops on a group of younger men sitting and talking at one of the tables. Just what I'm looking for he thinks to himself. He then makes his way over to the table and pulls out a deck of cards, "Gentlemen, have you ever played Three Dragon Ante?", he asks with a smile.

Male Human Bard 1

"Here we are at last", says Kendrick as he stiffly dismounts his horse. Rubbing his backside he starts inside the Dragon, "Gods, I need an ale, a comely wench, some food and a table full of fools ready to loose their coin, in that order."

Looking at the others and thinking about earlier, he says, "Those barrows you looked at. What do you think expect to will find there. You all seem very eager to explore them. Do your people not guard your tombs from intruders?"

"Well I'm hopin' that we'll find out who's resting place it is. And also if it can't help to provide us with some insight into the goings-on of his or her day. And of course if there happens to be anything that they don't need which could help fund our little expedition, well that'd be gravy", Kendrick says with a wink.

"It is possible that there might be a few nasty surprises in that barrow. But I trust that between us we have the skill and the wits to overcome them."

Male Human Bard 1

"I imagine they do, there certainly must be some undiscovered creatures within such a place. Perhaps if you discover one, they'll name it after you. Think of the secrets waiting to be discovered."

Also the fact that Aldred doesn't shut up, regaling you with tales of several of his past adventures, which you assume must all be figments of his imagination. (Especially the one about him finding a portal to another world in the basement of the home he grew up in back in Korvosa.)

Egged on by Kendrick, who finds this level of BS to be amusing. "Really Aldern, you one shotted the Tarrasque and sent it packing to the Pit of Gormuz? Amazing! And this portal, it led to a world called Oz you say? And there were flying monkeys! I'm sorry to haved missed that."

Bluff just taking 10 = 18

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick hands her his pipe and says, "you certainly may darlin'."
Then he starts breaking up a biscuit and eating.

Male Human Bard 1

Still smoking his pipe, Kendrick looks over at Aldern and says, "Congratulations Aldern, this has to be one for the record books. I'm thinking there's enough meat here to feed half of Sandpoint. It's gonna be one heck of a feast tonight."
Kendricks stomach takes that opportunity to grumble, and Kendrick unshoulders his backpack.
"Speaking of food" he says as he digs into his backpack, "anyone want a biscuit?"

Male Human Bard 1

"Ah, the voice of reason" says Kendrick in response to Ensu's last comment. "Even though a large part of me wishes to go investigate the barrow now, I shall defer to your greater wisdom master Ensu. After all, it's probably saving me from a messy end at the hands of a barrow wight" he adds with a chuckle.
Kendrick sits down and produces a pipe which he then packs with tobacco and lights. "If you need any assistance, let me know. Likewise I'd love to hear what brought you into the service of Nethys and then brought you here. Otherwise, I'm ready to head back to the others when y'all are."

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick can mage hand the gem if needed

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick closes his journal and puts it away along with his pen and ink. Scratching the back of his head he turns and says to Ensu and Ezren, "you know, I was thinking about that date and what it means not so long ago. Everyone assumes Aroden "died" if it's even possible for such a thing to happen. But do we know that for sure? I mean yes, he didn't appear on the date that was calculated, although that could be an error in the calculation. And indeed, his clerics lost contact with him, but does that mean that he is truly dead? Is it not possible for even a god to be out of reach?"

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick stops from the rubbing he is making for a moment and glances at the sky before going back to work. "Seems like we still have plenty of daylight left" he says. "What do you fellas think, should we call up the others and explore yonder barrow, or should we come back in the mornin?"
Putting away the rubbings, he pulls out his journal and starts making notes in it; time, date, location, a description of the site, etc.

Male Human Bard 1

What time of the day is it?

Male Human Bard 1

Reaching into his bag and removing charcoal and paper, Kendrick states, "Gentlemen, I believe we may have quite a find here. This doesn't look like any Thassilonian ruin or marking that I've seen or heard of. The runes however bear a striking resemblance to some Azlanti writings I once saw reproduced in a Pathfinder Chronicle.
"Master Ezren, would you be so kind as to see if there are any magical auras about?"

Male Human Bard 1

As Kendrick walks away he turns back briefly at the sound of miss Mattie crying. He thinks about it for a moment, and then says, "don't worry little lady, I'm sure it'll taste better once it's cooked." He then turns and continues towards the ruin.

Male Human Bard 1

As Kendrick approaches it he'll see if he recognizes the architecture.
Knowledge (history) 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

Male Human Bard 1

Kendrick extends his hand to all his companions and thanks them in turn before saying, "You are welcome m'lord, but I for one feel honored to have been able to stand shoulder to shoulder with such fine warriors and face down such a beast. The tales we shall tell tonight! I do have to say however, that I'm not going to be of much use in the next part of todays adventure, as I'm afraid I have no knowledge of how to dress such a creature. I do however hold great faith in that Gallus and Galstok will have this creature ready for transport in no time. But if you'll excuse me for a moment, there was something I wanted to investigate."
Kendrick then walks over towards both Ensu and Ezren and says,"Gents, I cannot be sure, but I do believe I saw a ruin yonder," and points to where he thinks he saw the ruin. "Shall we investigate?"

Male Human Bard 1

As a move action Kendrick will move to where he is inbetween Aldern and the boar.
As a standard action Kendrick will ready an action to brace his spear for the boars charge.
As a free action Kendrick will continue to inspire courage, "Fear not my lord, we got this", he says to Aldern.
To everyone else, "We are going to eat well tonight my friends."

Male Human Bard 1

Hey guys, I just wanted to remind you all that everyone after me gets a +1 to attack and damage
