Background:

The paradise world, Kuuva , Keita grew up privileged, beautiful, graceful.
Doted on my her widowed father, Drax, a patriarch of a strong noble family.
Taught to govern, lead, fight, she excelled in all things, especially in
attracting the notice of the Inquisition.

Torn between loyalty to family or Emperor, Keita saw the implied threat to her
home in the eyes of the Inquisitorial staff. To save her family she agreed to
take her part in the grand Inquisition against the Emperor's enemies.

Training was brutal but her previous learning helped her excel. A few successful
missions brought her to the notice of the Inquisitor himself, Essen Vross.

Following the lessons learnt in the vicious court on Kuuva, Keita ingratiated herself
to Vross, making her self indispensable. Her father had taught her that using her
beauty to get ahead was an honorable use of her Emperor given assets.

Vross was a learned man and took Keita under his wing, entranced despite himself by
her beauty and abilities. Soon they were lovers, Vross entrusting Keita with many
secrets and tasking her with missions of vital importance.

Pride swelling from the attentions of such a powerful man, as well as his trust,
Keita set out into the Empire to do his bidding, ridding the Empire of many a Chaos
cultist and other threats.

However, she thought often of her home and father, despite the importance of the
work she was performing for Vross.

That distration however proved fleeting, as Kuuva was attacked by reavers, leaving
most of Keita's home continent in cinders, her father and much of her extended family dead.

Throwing herself into her work, Keita soon rose to become one of Vross' most accomplished
Acolytes.

It came to pass that Keita was to assist another Inquisitor , one Ritter Noos, in the
quelling of a cell of rebellious magos. Working closely with Noos, Keita again felt the admiration
of another powerful man. However, Noos was much more learned in the ways of Chaos,
in fact he was quite tainted by his delvings. While Keita remained loyal to Vross, Noos'
subtle whispers slowly began to corrupt Keita's feeling about herself and Vross and ulitmately the Empire.

Introduced by the corrupted official to more sybaritic pursuits, the young woman found herself experiencing
feelings she never dreamed of, pleasure and pain in equal measure.

One day with , Noos provided Keita with fabricated evidence that Vross had been unfaithful to Keita, drinking
in the rage that made her face even more beautiful.

Filled with wrath, Keita used her considerable Inquistiorial powers to travel to Vross' sanctum, where
she found him asleep, the servitors not announcing her arrival, so used to her presense were they.

Standing over her lover's sleeping body, trembling with rage, Keita could only see the holo's of
him entwined in the arms of that other woman.

With a twitch of her hand, her pistol was hovering in the air mere inches from Vross' skull.
A frisson of pleasure coursed through her body as she pulled the trigger, reducing the Inquisitor's
head to a fine bloody mist.

Gasping for air, as the joyous release of her rage passed through her, the realization of what she'd
done came to her slowly.

Sitting on the bed, she took stock in her situation. Nodding, she stood and gathered Vross' gear and her own,
taking only the best quality items.

Then, knowing information was king, pulled Vross' corpse over to his dataport. Using his hand to access
the data, she purused the files contained therein.

Frowning, she noticed a folio titled 'Kuuva'. Opening it , she saw the planning and execution of
a operation to attack and destroy Kuuva, making it appear to be a random attack.

Feeling her rage return, she flung Vross' body down upon the ground and shot it many times with her pistol.

That a pillar of the Emperor's Inquisition would be human enough to be infaithful, understandable, but that
the powers that be would allow the destruction of a world, her home, for nothing.....

Within her mind, Keita could hear Noos' subversive whispers, the subtle eroding of her devotion to Empire, increase
to a shout within her mind. As if a blast had gone off in her mind, holding her head, Keita realized that
the Empire was a corrupt and baseless lie, a mirage of righteousness.

Gathering data onto her slate and erasing the rest, she gathered what gear she could carry and left Vross' sanctum,
leaving the evidence of her crime for all to see.

She fled into the shadows, only emerging from time to time to undermine an Inquisitorial investigation here or assassinate
a high ranking ecclesiastical figure there.

She kept in contact with Noos, sharing tidbit of information for slivers of meaning of the nature of the new connection
she was making with the forces of the Immaterium, seeing this burgeoning awareness to increase her own power in the universe.

Utilizing Noos' network of contacts , she's made her way across the breadth of the
Empire many times always a step ahead of the Inquisition.

Ten years have passed, her original name forgotten, so many alias' created and discarded.
Inquisitorial files talk of the Black Rose , or Inquisitrix Malum; the heirarchy of the Inquisition fully aware that one of
their own now opposed them with the skill and prowess of one of their own Inquisitors.
