Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

(Assuming the Minotaur is still standing)

Kayvan steps out of range of the threatening axe.
Much against his better judgement he strikes a final chord, releasing a second volley of missiles in the general direction of the beast.
Chord of Shards: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1) + 1 = 5 DC14 Reflex to negate

I'll be away from regular access to my computer from tomorrow on.
If Kayvan is still alive next round he'll be attempt to follow Skithryx to safety

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

(Kayvan only has a single round of actions to take)

Kayvan cautiously moves a little closer to the Minotaur.
Once he is close enough, he strikes a harsh chord, launching a burst of missiles towards the beast.

Chord of Shards - DC14 reflex to negate
Damage: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6, 4) + 1 = 11

Last turn
Kayvan runs to the start of the 'bridge' and stops, shocked, as the halfling is struck down with contemptuous ease by the bull-headed creature.
just over a double move, which is why he has to run

This turn
Kayvan moves cautiously across the bridge. Once he is back on a more secure footing he once again begins to play on his strange lute-like instrument.
Bardic Perfomance - Diplomatic Immunity

Diplomatic Immunity:

(As the Sanctuary spell, but personal only)
An attempt to attack Kayvan will require a will save (DC 14).
Success negates the effect; Failure means the attack is lost,
and the attacker will be unable to target attacks at Kayvan.

I should have been more clear in my post that Midnight is beginning to Inspire...

No - I got that. But Kayvan has other options based off bardic performance that he might want to use

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan follows the others, but pauses to once again cast "summon instrument"

Kayvan is more than happy to let the trap specialists lead the way.

@Midnight: Kayvan already has Inspire Courage up, and it doesn't stack

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan scurries out of the passageway and along the wall.
He starts "playing" on the strange instrument he is carrying
(well, at least some sort of sounds are coming from it.)

@Everybody: Bardic Performance - Inspire Courage (+1)

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan steps into a small alcove, and gestures.
A small stringed instrument of some kind appears in his hands.

(Casts "Summon Instrument")

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan asks "Can you tell me who built this marvellous city?
Are these pieces of parchment and cloth offerings left by others?"

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10 Not very diplomatic, apparently

GM:
While I have GMed this (on multiple occasions) it was quite some time ago, and the details don't come readily to mind.

Knowledge (local): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

If he can find anywhere that gives him a good view of the diorama, Kayvan easily recognises the city as Absalom - he's often seen just such a view from the southernmost slopes of the mountains. He studies the city for a while, trying to see if any of the various items are placed near significant buildings (assuming, of course, that buildings more recent than the cathedral are shown on the model).

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

That "plank" is going to be pretty hard to maneuver!

It's 3' wide by 12' long, and thick enough to be able to walk across (and not just by small kobolds!). Assuming 1.5" to 2" thick it's probably going to weigh getting on for two hundred pounds. Dragging it to the edge of the pit is reasonably straightforward, but trying to get the far end positioned without dropping everything into the pit could present quite a challenge ...

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Hmmm. We found it in a pit, so ....

Kayvan attempts to wrap himself in the cloak, then roars at the rest of the party. Unfortunately instead of the Pit Fiend he was hoping for, all the rest of the party see is a small kobold wrapped in an over-large cloak, making silly faces at them.

Chaotic Neutral, Wisdom 8. Sounds like something Kayvan would do.

Disappointed, Kayvan struggles out of the cloak and considers kicking it back into the pit.

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan will have had Skithryx use the grappling hook and rope to get the cloak across to the far side of the pit so that he didn't have to carry it.

"Does anyone want this cloak?" asks Kayvan.
"I don't want to carry it - it's too large and too heavy"

"Perhaps I should check to see if it's magical"
Casts Detect Magic. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan follows Skithryx's example and leaps across the pit.

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan will attempt to retrieve the backpack.
Assuming that trying to hook the backpack is a ranged attack roll

(Including Point Blank): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 before any situational modifiers

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

"Sure!" replies Kayvan.

He picks up the rope and grappling hook and ties the rope to the hook.
He then peers cautiously into the pit, and takes a few tentative swings.

"Just try hooking it out, right?" he asks Silumgar.

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan answers Silumgar's questions (also speaking in Draconic)

"I left my tribe to learn from watching the young dragons why played nearby.
My tribe lives in the mountains.
My favourite foods are the strange creatures brought back by explorers who have visited the edge of the world"

(Fish and other seafood - Kayvan thinks of the island of Kortos as the whole world)

He will attempt to assist Demm finding a path through the overgrowth.
Survival (aid): 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

It's getting a little crowded around here, but Kayvan will take one more attempt with his crossbow.

Crossbow (Inspire, Point Blank, In Melee): 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 5 - 4 = 14 That might even hit!
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan is going to take a shot at one of the hostiles. If Red is still up Kayvan will 5' step S and target Red; if Demm dispatched it Kayvan will instead 5' step into Red's square and fire at Blue

Crossbow (including IC & Point Blank): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
I suspect the crossbow bolt bounces harmlessly off the beast.
Muttering a curse (in Draconic) under his breath, Kayvan reloads his crossbow.

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

I hadn't looked at the map. Kayvan would, of course, 5' step away from his attacker before loading the crossbow.

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan hurriedly draws and loads his crossbow.

initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

"Just simple stuff; food, water, flint & steel, bed. Rope too heavy - magic too expensive."

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Kayvan continues to simply sit at the table, scowling at Janira and grumbling to himself.

Mutterings (in Draconic):

"Cooperate with halflings I must. Be friends with them? Maybe not."

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

Thanks for the flexibility - see you at table 2!

Grand Lodge

Male Kobold Bard (Dragon Herald) - AC 18, 10 HP

A red-scaled Kobold seated at the table waves hello.

"I think it the right place isss, but they didn't tell me with halflings we'd have to work!"
