If we don't have +2 speed from engineer, the drake will end up at the end of the red line directly behind them, our front to their aft. If we do get the +2, we follow the dotted orange line and end up where our front-and-starboard (gunners' choice) line up with their aft-or-port. In that case, our gunners decide which of our weapons target which of their arcs. Their gunners get the same choices for their gunnery phase.

You may have just had bad experiences. It also loses a lot in pbp. Starfinder ship combat can be soooo much fun when you're sitting around a table with players and GMs who are all into it, describing secondary explosions, high speed maneuvers, etc.

The google page says it's "view only" right now Kaylee is okay with any ship. She's okay with any position on board but loves to fly. If she's the pilot, she gives the ship +1 to speed. If she's science officer, some GMs let "wireless hack" do free "aid another" but I've also had GMs say no.

Kaylee is a human in her mid twenties with bright red hair. If you've seen her around the Lorespire Complex, she's always had her comm unit in one hand and has been almost absentmindedly scrolling through the infosphere on it. Here in Starfinder HQ, her reconfigurable clothing is in the form of a brightly colored sundress, programmed to synergize with her armor, fading that gear's colors into a more subtle flesh-tone. She'll introduce herself before we all go in to meet Ziggy. "Hi everyone! I'm Kaylee! I love ships and vehicles and engines...and well ships most of all.
