Background:

Kavar Baelali was born and bred in Mediogalti. Growing up among pirates and assassins their was never really a choice in his mind of what professions he would end up in. Not liking the idea of following orders from others without question or chance of true leadership he chose the path of the pirate. But becoming a pirate was not a simple task of going to sea and robbing folk, the greatest danger to any pirate was other pirates. He knew that to survive and thrive on his chosen path he would need skills and experience. So with that he signed on to one of the few some what reputable ships that docked in Mediogalti, on those merchant ships that catered to the pirates he learned the basics quickly and eagerly. He excelled in swordmenship and his duties as a sailor, two prime aspects of any would be pirate. After he felt that he had learned everything he could on merchant ships he took a pirate vessal out of Mediogalti to Port Peril. He wanted to find the right type of pirate ship to learn from. Sadly he went into the wrong tavern on his very first night in Port Peril, his senses had warned him and he listened but he only made it so far as the near by alley before he fell to the effects of his drink and the thugs waiting for him.

Kavar's Family
Being born in Mediogalti was a game of luck on to itself. You could be the child of a simple person making a honest living, or as honest as you can get on the isle of the red mantis. Or you could find yourself the child of a killer, still you could be the basterd of a fleeting pirate. For Kavar he was born into a family of red mantis assassins, granted he did not find that fact out until late boyhood. His parents were local fisher folk, most days were spent in that life. Yet ever so often a fishing trip took one or both parents away for weeks. During that time his elder brother would take care of him. As the years passed the truth came to light, it was not long until Kavar's elder brother joined the Red Mantis. As Kavar grew older his family expected him to follow in those footsteps, when he finally made it clear that he desired the life of a pirate over an assassin it did not go well. His family was furious, yet his parents understood. As long as their blood line was connected to the Red Mantis that was enough they reasoned dispite their disappointment. Kavar's elder brother on the other hand was not as understanding. He felt Kavar had betrayed their family for selfish childish desires. The dispute quickly turned into a battle, which the elder brother quickly won. He warned Kavar that he was not to use their family name and to make any time spent in Mediogalti short, otherwise he would kill him for the disgrace he had chosen. Kavar never the fool left shortly after, he would grow stronger and infamous. Then he would take back his family name and if his brother challanged him then, he would defeat him just as quickly as he had once been.
