Feats
Coordinated Maneuvers: Whenever you are adjacent to an ally who also has this feat, you receive a +2 competence bonus on all combat maneuver checks. This bonus increases to +4 when attempting to break free from a grapple.
Weapon Finesse: With a light weapon, elven curve blade, rapier, whip, or spiked chain made for a creature of your size category, you may use your Dexterity modifier instead of your Strength modifier on attack rolls. If you carry a shield, its armor check penalty applies to your attack rolls.
Special: Natural weapons are considered light weapons.


Background:
Kateris was born to a minor noble of one of lesser houses of the House Medvyev and a local peasant girl. He was raised on the many stories and superstitions about the fey creatures that she said lived all around their small town. As a young man, he courted the daughter of a local merchant, but she chose instead another from the more wealthy and influential House Surtova. Distraught over his loss he wandered into the woods where he spotted the most enchantingly beautiful woman he had ever seen. All his mother’s stories were forgotten as he chased this beauty into the woods Later, a search party sent by his father found his body wrapped round with water plants and floating in a small pond. When they dragged the body to the shore, and crab scuttled off of the body, and Kateris woke with a sputtering cough. Though he seemed mostly unharmed by this strange encounter, he was certainly not unchanged by it. He felt a strange connection to the crab and took it as a pet. Though it, he gained access to strange magics from an unknown patron. He seemed to always carry with him the watery smell of the pond, and when provoked, his hair could grow like the strange plants of the pond to grapple his foe. Though he often returned to the pond, he never again saw any hint of the beautiful woman he had seen. Soon the locals began to consider him to have been tainted by his strange encounter and shun him, and then to blame him when any bad thing might happen. Kateris took to remaining in his family's manor after several drunken locals though him responsible when a local cow died birthing a two headed calf and chased after him down the streets. When word came of the search for explorers to venture into the Stolen Lands, he volunteered immediately. Now he looks forward to exploring the world and leaving behind the hurtful names of the small minded folk of his home.
