Yeah was pretty fun and thanks for gming so far!
Hope you can find more time again soon.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

I don't know his motives, neither did i see the man in the tower, but it could be. We'll never know if we don't check. That's all i'm saying. Perhaps i'm not too keen on certain death in the Amber Temple though. That place is even more crawling with evil, i'm sure. So if you think all we found here is ghosts and trouble, you definately won't like it there!

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

What if that was Rictavio in the tower? We are already here, so i would suggest doing the things at hand before traveling back and forth.

What kind of knowledge does Kassimir have? Need any checks?

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Checking in again.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Mh i know there's a place in the mountains called the amber temple, it could hold the dragons remains, but going there seems like certain death. It's a place of evil and highly guarded. No one ever came back.

After a moment he adds:
That makes me wonder though how there are stories about it. Seems like they spread them on purpose, either to draw silly adventurers there or to keep them away. We'll never know untill we go there i'm afraid.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Sad to see you go, have a good time though!

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Going on a journey with probably limited internet access for ~3 weeks.
Will try to get some posts in, but please bot as needed.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Well i hope it wasn't lightning striking the roof or a chimneyfire...

Nonetheless Kassimit joins in the search.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Nope, don't have it. Maybe we should reorganize a little there...

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

A prayer in this place? Curious indeed. Is it still devout if it's corrupted?
Kassimir follows as well, bow in hand.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Thanks for letting us know!

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

You mean the eternal suffering as undead clouded their minds a bit perhaps and now they don't follow you anymore? Seems good enough to me anyway, if not everyone and everything attacks us. Thank you seneschal.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

That is most interesting. Would you care to tell us more about how Strahd already died once and about this hell of his own creation? Especially how we could bring him there?
Kassimir seems surprised and concerned at the same time.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

And free those cursed by him and his legions! adds Kassimir.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir, seeing Malthorn seemingly exhausted, closes in, leaning against the wall next to him and takes out a lute.
Feeling worn out my friend? Let me play you a song, perhaps it can sooth your soul...
And he begins to play some sort of very relaxing elven lullaby.

Let's go there right after the rest.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Mh it seems like a good place, however i dislike that wolf somehow.
Kassimir inspects the room and everything in it carefully before he would settle down.

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

It saddens me somehow. This story should be remembered and sung in great tales. Hopefully i get to sing about it someday, as well as about our own heroic tale how we free them and slay the devil!

Kassimir looks determined and begins to move towards the pointed way, throwing his cloak over his shoulder in a dramatic gesture.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

So a long time ago Strahd sent an army here? I wonder just how old that devil really is and where his origins are. But before we continue, hold a moment...
Kassimir rubs his nose after standing back during the talks with the skeleton, but eventually steps forward.
Excuse me good sir, may i inquire you to tell us more about your order, your master and the events which led to your current state? Perhaps you have some information about this devil we might not yet know? It all might help to tear him down.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir sings you some refreshing songs.

Everyone heals an additional 1d6hp.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir tags along and offers to heal people if needed.
He can provide some healing music if anyone is hurt.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Mh i wonder why there are only busts of men. It's not my taste. Probably some knights honoring themselves.
Kassimir follows along with Malthorn to explore further.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir tries to help out Ozgo and aims at the one next to him.

Shortbow Sharpshooter: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 191d6 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18

Hold on friends, we can overcome them!

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Ozgo and Talus turn.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

With a sigh, Kassimir takes his bow and aims at the ghost.

Let us put you to peace poor soul.

Sharpshooter: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d6 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir moves in between Talus and Ozgo, grim sorrow on his face.

What kind of check would give some helpful info about these ghosts?

Persuasion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

We are not here to take your home or defile it! We seek shelter from the evil of this land! And allies! That's why we came to the home of the great silver dragon!

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Round 1?
Arcana: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Round 2:
This is a wall of stone spell. I'll try to dispel it!

Dispel Magic: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

What? Where does this solid wall come from? It nearly fell on my toe! Where did the others go and what did they do?

Kassimir inspects the sudden wall, looking for some hidden device to make it disappear again.

Need any kind of check?

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir checks out the whole room himself, but has his ow ready as the doors are about to be opened.

Investigation: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

I reckon we have to move to a different place first...

Kassimir begins cautiously moving up the stairs, wary of what horror could lounge there. He looks back over his shoulder, to see if everyone is following.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

I could sing you a song of rest letting you recover an extra 1d6hp.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

In an emergency I can heal as well, but not as good. So let's climb those stairs! The thought of these fellows returning makes me uncomfortable here.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Then we should get moving before they stand up again i guess. Where do you want to head? The stairs or through that barred door over there?

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

I think my last post has been eaten and there were a lot of maintenance notes when i tried to post last week. Don' worry i'm here.
If you allow, i'd rather dice myself though :)

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Forgot the advantage roll

Advantage: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Ha even better^^

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Hold on, we got this!

Kassimir keeps concentrating on his spell and fires another arrow against the remaining affected revenant.

Shortbow Sharpshooter: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Round 4

Kassimir continues to concentrate on his faerie fire and shoots at one of the revenants attacking Ozgo.

Shortbow with Sharpshooter: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 211d6 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir concentrates on his spell and aims to finish off one of the revenants hopefully.

Shortbow Sharshooter: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 221d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 171d6 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir knows his religious inclinced friends might have something up their sleeve, so he waits what they do.

Should Ozgo's commands have no bearing, he'll shoot one of the revenants.

Shortbow + Sharpshooter: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 121d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d6 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Religion: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Guardians? Guardians of what? Do you think you can argue with them? Those red eyes do not exactly look friendly to me. And what about those wispy things?

Kassimir waits in the back, ready to cast faerie fire on the revenants should combat begin for real.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir follows closely, alert but curious who might be praying there.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

So perhaps we finish this rest and then go on exploring this haunted ruins? At least now we know what to expect a bit. Will you come with us Savid? I´m reluctant to leave you behind alone, even though it's supposedly safe here.

Do you have any ideas how to release the dragon's ghost and win him over as our ally? Is that even possible? I'm not very familiar with the boundaries of ghost's.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

I´ll be on a heavy work and traveling schedule the next 1.5 needs, my posting might be influenced.
Please bot as needed.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

We should definately investigate this and free the ghost of Argynvost. I wonder how this devil could slay a dragon.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Hakim? So you lost your companion? It saddens me to hear that.
Kassimir lays a hand on Savids shoulder in a consoling gesture.

We have been attacked by wolves several times, but we could fend them off. Do you perhaps know anything about this house or place?

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Savid, you´re save now with us. Perhaps you can rest with us and we can heal you.
He glances sideways at Gail...
I have some magic of my own i can work and Gail here has a very good heart, serving a pleasant god.

We met some wolves, but it´s never sure how many are out there in this cursed land. You were wise to stay hidden. But why were you out in the forest alone? Kind of dangerous, isn´t it?[

Of course Kassimir let´s everyone know what Savid tells and he himself asks.

Persuasion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

1 person marked this as a favorite.
| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Just to inform everyone, after knowing D&D5 better now and with a friendly yes from our kind GM i transformed Kassimir into a College of Lore Bard.
I believe this suits me more as a player and the group as well.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Good question. I have actually yet to pick 2 languages, but no idea about the languages of Barovia. GM decision.

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir looks at Malthorm, whom he followed closely.
Hear them getting ready? Since when do monsters need to get ready?

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir just follows Malthorne, whispering:
Why are you sneaking after that noise? I doubt someone would not have heard it. You think it´s a good idea to be on a cemetary here?
Noehteless he tries to be as silent as possible himself, several times looking over his shoulder.

Stealth: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

| HP 53 | AC 16 | Initiative +4 | Passive Perc 16 | S+0 D+7 Co+3 I+1 W+0 Ch+6 | Bard 7

Kassimir watches the efforts with interest, thinking to himself wether he should learn the knoch spell or not...
