I'm sorta of following... The BAB +3 is because when you Flurry it is the same as the monks level? or is it at level three +2 BAB & +1 flurry?Flurry -2? is this due to TWF? I forgot about the WIS
We are a pretty new group of players and are currently level 3. I'm playing a Zen Archer and I'm wondering if I'm calculating my Flurry of blow hit bonus correctly. Not including my feats I believe it's monk level plus FOB bonus. so my level 3 monk (feats excluded) is +3 for level and +1 FOB bonus for a total of +4/+4?
Thank you everyone for the help. The token explanation was really good and yes Grick it was your guide I was referring to. As for the level one using vital strikes I just looked it up and I guess our monk didn't read the pre-req. Thank you for pointing this out, the player must have missed it and the rest of us are just as unfamiliar as he is. Their are eight players in the group not including the DM and none of us have played pathfinder before. I suspect we will be learning for years to come.
So for my groups second attempt at Pathfinder (DM with 15 years of 2nd ed and the rest of us about 2 years) we had a magus and monk introduced to the party. The monk seemed way over powered for a level one encounter. One of the questions that came up was the use of vital strike with FOB. is this possible? The second question came about when handling touch based spells by the magus. I came across a really good guide on touch based spells using the magus and an orc in the example. I forgot to book mark and can't find it again. Last but not least, I think the group is confused on the actions. we had people moving then casting, we had people casting then moving, we had running then melee, I think someone along the lines we got the different actions all goofed up. Is there another resource for explaining it. We all have the core book but we are stilling messing it up.

If the mage moved it would have been an AOO for 3 bandits instead of one. I understand that it's taking into account both above and below the horizontal but to what extent. Now lets say a bandit is flying 20 feet in the air two squares away and the gnome is one square away on the ground. How would you address that? Thanks for helping me try to figure this stuff out.
So our 2nd ed group decided to give Pathfinder a try after playing together for several years and came across an interesting situation which got pretty heated. Our gnome bard was attacked by a human bandit who was standing in the very next square. 5 feet behind the bard was our elf mage. The mage wanted to cast color spray at the bandit over the head of gnome. Half the group said no way that will hit the gnome the other half said the mage can just lift his hand to keep it above the gnomes head. It became a 2d vs 3d ruling which the DM was not happy about having to decide upon since the group was torn between who is right and who is wrong. Human Bandit|Gnome Bard|(empty sq)|Elf Mage Any suggestions or rules that might apply to this scenario? Thanks! Kapfel |
