It appears GMT has abandoned us.
It's been a good time, but I'm not going to bother checking in anymore.

Thanks for the adventure everyone and seeya around!

Kallista adds her voice to Nami and Tobar's song.

Singing a very old and simple, yet somehow catchy Hill Dwarven marching chant.

We barely got hit up here in NH.
Everyone was preparing for a Cat1 or Tropical Storm and thankfully all we got was some minor flooding and a few 40mph gusts of wind.
Power flickered maybe 3-4 times throughout the day.

In the unlikely event that the Hurricane approaching my city takes out my posting capacity, (I live in Nashua NH, US.) and combat occurs, Kallista will focus on casting Sleep first to neutralize any threat quickly that can be affected by it, and resort to Inspire Courage on subsequent rounds, alternating between shooting her bow at stragglers that aren't engaged in melee and/or using Cure Light Wounds to heal injured friends.
She won't hesitate to use her (heavily padded) Diplomacy skill to diffuse any encounter she thinks can be solved without violence.

Feel free to have her bug Nami about his hat, Theo about his firearm, Nik'o about his (largely imagined) violent streak and Tobar about anything else.

Kallista chases after the others, leaving Sunflower behind with Horace again.
Sticking close to Tobar, she keeps ever-watchful eyes on the wood's edge looking for that sly, pale thing that was shadowing them earlier.
"I wonder if it's friendly and just scared?" she thought to herself as she followed behind Nami and Nik'o, munching on a piece of soft cheese from the bundle of food Ameiko had given her.

"Depends on who you ask, it does!" Kallista replies to Horace, looking a bit nervous and flustered despite her apparent cheerfulness.
"We found Mister Proudstump, near dead from some shape-changing toad-looking monster that attacked us on the doorstep of his house." she reported, heading straight for Sunflower and making sure she is still as high-spirited and headstrong as ever.
she (the pony) is present?
"We killed the beast and rid Walthus of its smelly carcass, but it killed most of the poor halfling's snakes and had him trapped in his house for the better part of a few days. It did. Vile thing. Yup yup. Oh! He also saw Karl and the others too, but wasn't able to greet them and doesn't know what became of them either." the gnome continues to babble on as she feeds Sunflower an apple and handful of honeyed oats from a saddlebag.
"And I saw something in the woods shortly after leaving Mister Proudstump's. Rather pale and about the size and shape of a human. It vanished before my friends could get a look at it. The shifty thing. Dunno what it was. Maybe a restless spirit or one of the boys from the first expedition, too scared to come out. It sure poofed in a hurry. Probably saw Theo's muskrat and didn't want a hole the size of one of Ameiko's sweet rolls through its throat." the little bard giggles a bit at the morbid thought and falls silent.

It's yours Kallista.... assuming it matches your colour scheme?

Haha!

She's more of a blue sorta gal, but brown is also good. Brings out the fiery colors in her hair.

She'll happily accept and don it unless someone else would rather have it.

Nope to the HeroLab, but I've looked at trying it out.

What are we going to do with the Cloak?

GM_Todd wrote:

I think she should get them. All class-based benefits are rewarded via the step rewards (at least in my games). It's only the "general" advancements such as feats and attribute bonuses that are only accessible via actual level ups.

Does that make sense?

Makes sense to me! I'll add +2 rounds of music to her as well then! Also can I replace Ghost Sound with Message for her cantrip? I didn't realize she can use Ghost Sound from her racial. (And twice a day too if she expends her trait power.)

Kallista's eyes brighten as she discovers the properties of the rich brown cloak in her hands and she carefully folds it places it on the table in front of her, making a note to inform her companions of this discovery as soon as they bid Walthus farewell and continue the adventure.

"The Old Trail sounds like the best plan. It does!" she chirps happily. Jumping down off the chair and looking more than a bit relieved that she wasn't asked to head into the garden to look for runaway snakes.
"Thank you again for the hospitality Mister Proudstump!" she smiles sweetly to her host, embracing him in a cautious hug, lest he still be a bit wounded from his ordeal with the slimy thing on the doorstep, or worse, have a wayward snake hiding in his pockets. Taking the cloak over her arm, she begins to ramble on... "We'll be leaving you now. You take care of yourself and it'd probably be best to get that thing off your doorstep. Maybe Nik'o here could toss the thing into the sea or cut its nasty head off and bring it back to Sandpoint to see if someone there knows what in the heck the crazy bugger is... well, was... Shalelu would likely know! She would! But I wouldn't want to carry some unfortunate monster's severed squash around in my pack for a few days. Nope! A bit unsanitary. It is... and..."

it would probably be best to get moving

Kallista will take a second level in Bard and go for the special as well.

That will be one each 0-level and 1st level known and one extra first level spell per day. (I'll take Ghost Sound for the 0-level and Silent Image for the 1st-level.)

Also added Versatile Performance and Well-Versed to Kallista's sheet.

Does she also get the +2 rounds of Bardic Performance or does that actually chime in at 2nd level? (I always assumed 2nd level itself when using this progression in irl games)

Kallista shrugs and smiles at her host as he admits to not having any anti-toxin on hand and pushes aside her empty bowl.
"Not a problem, just figured I'd ask. Yup. Oh! and thank you again for the bread pudding Mister Proudstump, it was most tasty!"

Seeing that nobody else had taken the halfling's offered cloak, the fidgety bard picks it up and begins to inspect it.
"What a strange gift." she wondered silently, managing for once to keep her thoughts from spilling out of her mouth.

Is it blue?

Kallista begins merrily chowing down on the bowl of bread, milk and raisins without so much as a sniff or sideways glance, and is three quarters done before her host even gets to ask how it tastes.
Looking a bit sheepish, she fixes him a broad smile, a thin trail of white at the corner of her lips and nods, "Positively splendid Mister Proudstump!" slurping up another mouthful while making a mental note not to follow any of the party into Walthus' garden if they are inclined to do so.

"Its absolutely terrible what that wicked little monster did here! I am relieved that you were able to get away from him! Yup! Maybe you should consider getting a more reliable pet if you're gonna stay out here in the boonies, you should. A big dog or two maybe? Much better than snakes they are. Yup they are." realizing she was starting to ramble, she suddenly thought of something her large friend inquired about earlier.

"Say Mister Proudstump, you wouldn't happen to have a spare vial of anti-toxin around by any chance would you?" Kallista gives Nik'o a sly wink after she asks. "What with all your little friends and all. None of them happen to be poisonous I hope?" she asks her halfling host as she looks down at the floor suspiciously. Tucking her feet up safely under her butt, Kallista quickly finishes her food.

"Yep, that jerk is still running things like its his own personal sandbox." Kallista notes sourly, "You know, just so happens he and I don't see much eye to eye either. Nope, nope."
Relaxing as she becomes certain that the halfling before her is truly a halfling, she quickly steps up to tend his injuries.
"I'm not much of a healer in the classical sense," she smiled as she cast her spell on the man, "but this always does the trick."

Casts Cure Light Wounds on Walthus.1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

"What in the heck was that nasty thing anyway? she asks Proudstump as she takes a seat near him that is high enough off the floor that she can avoid any of his slithering company that might approach while she's distracted.

Kallista will let someone else take the cloak, but will happily inspect it for any magical properties if asked. Just not in front of their host as she would consider that to be rude.

"We made short work of the two-faced scum, we did!" Kallista says proudly, her voice posing a warning to the halfling in the event it might be the fallen monster's partner in crime.
Her mind already filled with visions of lurking serpents, she came up with a clever idea.
"Sorry about asking this Mister Proudstump," she queried the banged up halfling, "but would you mind telling me who the current sheriff of Sandpoint is? You know, just so my easily angered companions here don't accidently kill you thinking you're one of that dead creature on your steps friends?"

She waited for his response and smiled to herself for being able to link the sheriff with the snakes.

Decided to stay straight Bard.
I just can't find a way to make the Rogue levels fit.

"Serves you right for being such a vile toad." Kallista chirps to her fallen foe as she watches the monsters blood bubble forth from the gaping hole through its throat.
Sheathing her blade and turning to Theo she remarks "So that's the thunderous racket I've been hearing from across town from time to time!" she approaches the tall man, eyeing his wondrous device with no small measure of gnomish awe before stopping short of trying to touch it. Settling instead for watching the smoke puffs drift lazily from its muzzle. "Fascinating weapon. Is it a wand of some sort?"
As she enviously eyeballs the curious device, Theo can only wonder what she'd do to the firearm if left unattended with it for a few hours... or seconds...

Once inside the shack, she sticks close to Tobar's side and tries to pretend that the poor critters in the smaller cages aren't live food for other, more slimy, creatures. Inspecting only a few items as she hovers near the dwarf priest.

At the sound of the voice from upstairs, she startles slightly, and moves near Nami. Whispering to him nervously, "Careful Nami, it might be another of those murderous big-mouth things."

Speaking of murderous big-mouth things...

Good deal. Though you're going to need a little more diplomacy than that now, thanks to Nik'o's little trick.

Hehehee! How does 29 do? LOL

The little sneak attacked us anyway, but I wish my elf ranger had that kind of luck with Diplomacy over in Patcher's Serpent Skull thread! :)

"Why you nasty, fat-head sneak!" Kallista curses the traitorous fiend, drawing her rapier and stepping in to flank Nami. Taking a stab at the foul thing for having the audacity to assault her friend.

Drawing weapon and moving to -D8 via 5' step and stabbing at the treacherous monster.

Kallista balks at the halfling's sudden transformation as it's illusion fades, but quickly regains her composure and steps up to the odd creature. Hands open, empty and in front of her, she tries to open an accord with the vile-looking thing that will benefit them both.
"I apologize for the rash actions of my large friend here," she begins, glibly speaking to the self-proclaimed new owner of Proudstump's seaside shack, "I can assure you he meant no harm, he's just a bit eager to help and looking for our friend Walthus. If you would be so kind as to invite us in, we only have a few questions and perhaps we can offer our assistance to you in return should you have any issues at hand that we could aid with. I promise we have no intentions to eject you from your home, just a few questions and we'll leave you in peace."

Kallista will move up adjacent to the false Proudtump at -C8.

"What the heck is he doing?" Kallista wondered, raising an eyebrow at the brutish woodsman's unorthodox approach.
"It certainly has captured his attention." she mused, using the distraction to slip a bit to the open side of the door and try to peek in.
Hoping not to see anything too terrifying.

Perception (to sneak a peek beyond the door) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

Forgot to rid Kallista of the Chain Shirt and Light Shield from her initial days as a Cleric.

Updated AC to match her Leather Armor.

Kallista is ready to throw out a combination of +11 Diplomacy and a bribe of Rusty Dragon food to get us in the door if it comes to that.

"Don't invite us in...Don't invite us in... Don't invite us..." the nervous gnome repeated to herself in an endless cycle as her and her companions waited for Walthus to answer his door.
Once he finally did so, she looked in shock at his disheveled appearance and took a step even further back.
Nudging Nami weakly in the ribs at Proudstump's revelation for his current state, she whispered feverishly to the halfling, "He's being attacked by his own pets! See what I told you about those things! Slippery buggers! Can't trust em. Nope."

Unaware that her voice had risen to considerably higher volume than the intended whisper only when several of her fellows were looking at her.

Smiling innocently, Kallista takes yet another step back from the ramshackle building and its suspicious occupant.

Kallista climbs off Sunflower and gives the pony a hug before turning her over to the care of Horace. "Keep a good eye on her Horace," she says, a bit sad at having to leave her behind. "She's a bit prone to wander, especially when she gets bored or hungry."
Remembering to take the bundle of foodstuffs out of Sunflower's saddlebags and stuffing them into her backpack, she readily joins the others for the trek through the marsh to Proudstump's.

The little bard proves surprisingly resilient to the discomfort of the mud seeping into her boots, softly giggling even as it squishes between her toes. Although always alert to the possibilities of encountering the random serpent, she doesn't seem at all fazed by the spooky animal noises, splashing frogs, lurking lizards or even the occasional spider that scuttles by. Actually needing to be prodded along after stopping to observe a particularly elaborate spider web and the colorful denizen sitting at the middle. "Sorry bout that, Yup." she whispers, "I've never seen one that color before, bright red and green, very pretty she is. Big too! She is."

As they venture deeper into the swamp, she continues to remain bright-eyed and vigilant, but walks noticeably closer to Tobar and Nik'o. Especially once they come upon the remains of the mutilated deer. The sight of which causes her to wrinkle her nose in horror and emit a tiny, "Ewww..."

Once Walthus' shack appears, her facade completely fails her and she becomes a bundle of wrecked nerves. Chewing her bottom lip ferociously, she draws even closer to the dwarf while absently caressing the pommel of her dagger.
She begins to very softly half-sing/half-hum a tune about a cunning python who tries to charm a small human boy using its hypnotic stare as she waits to see what the others decide to do.

I'm good with moving ahead. Kallista not so much.

Kallista cheerfully sticks her tongue out at Tobar, but looks significantly more relaxed at his promise not to linger nonetheless.

"Not so much in favor...Nope... But I agree with Tobar we should check in on Walthus!"
The squeakiness in Kallista's voice betrays her conviction, but she otherwise looks ready enough.

Whispering to Sunflower and petting the ponies neck before they depart...

Nami:
"You stay fast for me for me Old Girl and smoosh any slithering critters we see and I'll give you a whole bushel of apples when we get you back to Hosk!"

Listening carefully to Horace's options and after a bit of consideration weighted heavily by the thought of snakes, Kallista chimes in with her two coppers.
"Well, I say that if we can avoid this Walthus fellow that I am all for it, I truly am. But if he will help us beat those lousy Licktoads then I s'pose I'll have to risk ending up in the belly of one of his pets." although she's clearly not at all motivated about visiting the hermit halfling, she's putting up as brave a front as she can.

"You spoke a bit ominously of a second, older fishing trail. You did. Why should we avoid that route?"

"Oooo! You'll spoil her, but she will be most grateful!" Kallista exclaims when Nami hands her his gift for Sunflower. Delivering the piece of fruit directly to the pony so she could give it a good sniff before happily devouring it.
"You know my uncle used to say ponies and horses could track by scent just like dogs, he did!" she begins to explain with a good degree of enthusiasm. "He was a bit addled-brained, the poor fellow, he actually tried to train ponies to find truffles if you can imagine that! Not much came of that venture!" she giggled ferociously at her hapless kin's poor planning.

"Nope nope," the halfling explains to the frightening-looking woodsman, inspecting her pouch in hopes she missed a couple bottles. "Just these... Though I surely see the comfort having a few vials would bring where we're headed, I do. I'm hopeful the snakes and bugs will remain content to stay sleeping in their logs and hidey holes due to the cold and not pay us much mind."

Kallista arrives with a cheerful smile, a tad early and dressed warmly to ward off the morning cold.
She enjoys her portion of the morning meal, and speaks excitedly with her new companions as she eats only a single egg and honeyed roll before growing full.
Her eyes sparkle when Ameiko arrives with the gifts of food and potions and threaten to burst with new tears that are welling into big drops at the corners, but she keeps steady as she hugs her friend "Good-bye for now". "I sure hope they won't be needed, I do." she says softly , referring to the healing potions, "You take care of yourself here Big Lady." The little gnome sniffles once after she releases her friend, but is back to her cheerful, bouncy self almost immediately.

As they prepare to head out on the trail, she observes Tobar's ritual with no detail to attention spared, as this is the very first time she has actually traveled with the dwarf outside of town and witnessed firsthand this particular religious rite. "I'll be sure to include this in my book!" she thinks excitedly to herself as the cleric concludes the prayer.
Before mounting, she stuffs the pack of food into one of Sunflower's saddlebags and hands one each of the four healing potions to her companions, stating "It won't do us any good for me to hold all four! Nope, nope!"

Once sitting with Nami upon Sunflower and on the trail, she offers some whispered advice occasionally to the halfling about pony-riding; how to steer, how to get her to stop, how to get her walking again when she sees something on the ground she wants to eat, and whatnot.
Otherwise she remains uncharacteristically silent, as though afraid that loud words may bring down the wrath of snakes, goblins or worse.

She doesn't complain when Nik'o fires up his pipe, having come from a long line of pipe-smoking gnomes, but she is surely puzzled by the unfamiliar scent of whatever whatever the strange man had cooking in there. Certainly not Apple or Cherry leaf.
Kallista made a note to ask him what it was once she gets to know him better... maybe he'll even offer her a puff.

The gnome looses a tiny, high-pitched giggle at the thought.

Kallista will spend a half hour or so with Tobar, taking a mug of ale for herself, using her gnomish magic prestigitation to lightly frost both her own and Tobar's mug (if he so wishes), while smiling innocently if he inspects his scarf.

Before she departs, she will take the stage to sing a comical tune about a handsome, but arrogant village hunter who was cruelly dismissed by his love and is being cheered up by his fellows, who are adulating him with tales of his great feats of physical prowess.

Once she has concluded the song she hugs Tobar softly and returns to her home.

Once her tears stop flowing, Kallista speaks to the monk, her voice still a bit squeaky from her episode, "You are welcome to ride with me if you'd like Nami!" she offers, "Sunflower is a gentle pony and much more stable than those long legged horses, she is! Much closer to the ground too! She's also pretty cool-headed and won't be as likely to panic and run away if she sees a snake or goblin."
She doesn't bother add that the pony might be inclined to actually attack and pursue such things, deciding to cross that bridge if she comes to it.

Ok, nixing the Arcane Trickster then!
I figure her BAB will be back on track at level 5 (+3, same as if she stayed pure Bard) given her small size bonus of +1, she'll be ok for the level 2-4 spread where she'd be a point behind.
I'm looking mostly at the Disable Device as a class skill, the ability to disable magical traps and the Evasion to add to her survival and usefulness.
She'll continue straight Bard from level 4 on.

Thanks a bunch for the input!

Knowledge: Local (to open that spoiler!)1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23

"Thank you for taking such good care of Sunflower, Hosk. Kallista beams up at the gruff human, "She is so used to being stabled and growing fat off your apples and oats that I fear she'll be right vexed with me for bringing her into the Brinestump Swamp of all places, she will! Not at all pleased. Nope. Her oft-boggled mind now seeing swamps, snakes, goblins, ponies and creme puffs all at the same time. Trying to whittle down the mental images to only one, she adds, "We'll bring you back all the gobbo ears we find to add to your... umm... collection! she promises hastily, not really thinking how exactly she was going to separate said ears from said goblins, but hoping one of the more violent-looking characters among them would volunteer for the task, like that Nik'o fellow.

When Veznutt introduces himself, Kallista greets him with a HUGE smile and promptly ignores the old gnomes extended hand and glomps him with such a fierce hug that it would likely be considered an outright attack by certain viewers. "Sorry bout that!" she giggles profusely, apologizing more to any who witnessed the assault then to the poor old gnome.

When Ameiko arrives, kallista REALLY gets excited! Wrapping up her old friend and growing teary-eyed as the bigger human lifts her off her feet in her embrace.
"I'll try to keep myself from getting too banged up or worse, Ameiko." she says, now fully crying and yet smiling at once.

Once Ameiko leaves, Kallista will attempt to dry her eyes and blow her nose loudly in one of Tobar's many worn scarves.

Assuming Tobar is wearing scarves

I'll do it then! Not really overly concerned about the BAB at the moment, I plan to bump her dex to 14 at level 4 to support the Rogue abilities and take both Point Blank Shot (Rogue Combat Trick) and Precise Shot (3rd level feat) with her at level 3 to increase her competence with the shortbow quickly to make up for it. Maybe even Rapid Shot at level 5 so she can sing and shoot 2 arrows per round. The 6 extra rounds of bardic performance from her 1st feat should tide her over until she gets back situated in Bard again.

So her immediate future will be as follows.
1. Bard
2. Rogue
3. Rogue
4. Bard
5. Bard

Which should take us to the next chapter of the AP, assuming it advances 3-4 levels like the Kingmaker one does. (Which is the only AP I've read besides the first book of the Carrion Crown AP)

One last question, I've mainly played Wizards, Druids and Rangers, and even though I've been on the DM side of the screen most of my career, I haven't got a huge amount of experience playing Skill monkeys on the other side. So the question is, is the Arcane Trickster worth investing levels into or should she stay straight Bard? I like either idea.

"Oh I just despise snakes and serpents of all sorts!" Kallista spoke informatively to Nami, her voice cracking just a bit as she explains, "This one time I was on a boat, well, a ship really, and we were headed to Sargava far to the south of here. Here being Sandpoint of course. Very interesting woman on board, Varisian I believe, dressed similar to my good friend here." indicating Tobar by elbowing him in the side just at the same moment he delivered the 'slithering invaders' comment. "She spent a lot of time researching this old serpent god, I chanced to speak with her a few times, never at great length, nope, but the things she spoke of..." Kallista shudders once again at the memories of those dreadful conversations and donned her blue cloak. "That and they're slimy things you know. They really are, yup!"

"Well!" I guess we're all settled on our course then! Tomorrow at first light. Shall we meet back here at the Dragon?" The petite bard goes off to search for a platter of food, preferably sweets, to abate her hunger and possibly sneak home with her. Staying in earshot of her companions as she does so.

Heya GMT, thinking about dipping into rogue next level for the trapfinding and whatnot. Will probably snag 2 levels in a row (2-3) and get evasion and both the trap abilities. Any advice or concerns?

"You sent a bo..." The angry bard quickly stilled her tongue and turned her back coldly to the sheriff lest he decide to put her little behind in jail for the remainder of the evening, looking instead at the distraught woman who had lost her child. "As my noble companion has promised," she spoke to the lady with as much conviction as she could muster, reiterating Tobar's vow, "We will find out what has become of Karl and the Weatherby lad, and visit some Sandpoint style vengeance upon any goblin who may have harmed either of them!"
Casting a disgusted look back at Sheriff Hemlock, she hopped down from her makeshift stage and sputtered vehemently at nobody in particular. "Bloody Hell! MERCENARIES with local boys! Damn that man..."

"Gods he vexes me so, yup he does!" she complained loudly to Tobar as she gathered up her skirts from the jump from the chair.

Her whole mood changed suddenly as her pretty face blanched white with fear and her eyes bulged a bit as she stammered, "Wait did she say SNAKES?"

"Just one little question Sheriff" Kallista blurts out, aiming her query pointedly at Hemlock as she stands up high in her chair to afford everyone still gathered a better view of her diminutive form. "Who are among those missing you sent earlier? This woman here, as well as a few others, I assume, would like some recognition at the very least that their lost kin are not merely forgotten by those with fancy titles."
I'll roll a Local Knowledge check to see if she knows the woman who lost her son, and will address her by name in her speech if she succeeds.

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Liking the idea of her having a bit of an issue with the sheriff

Kallista blushes deeply at the monk's compliment, but is interrupted by the start of the meeting before she can express her thanks.

During the course of the speeches the gnome flashes her tongue mockingly at Sheriff Hemlock when his eyes momentarily land on her. I've got some surprises in store for YOU, she says to herself, as she puffs up in her seat an almost impressive quarter inch taller than she is.
She softens just as quickly when Mayor Deverin takes the stage and listens eagerly the instant the word "goblin" is mentioned. Her mind swimming with both fear and anticipation at the thought of actually facing some in real combat.

Once the pair of authorities have had their say she stands and loudly announces her intent to join the group, "I've lived here far too long to see my home get threatened by the likes of this Licktoad band, fireworks or not! You can count on my blade and inspiration!"

Turning to Tobar's whisper she giggles fiercely and adds, "Just color me happy that I know you'll be there to keep me from being killed... or worse! Bored!" Wrinkling her tiny nose with a delighted smirk, she turns back to the assembly to see if there are any other takers or if anything else of interest will happen or be said.

Following the dwarf's motion, she eyes all the vacant seats and fixes a happy smile on him. That certainly makes the most sense, it does. she exclaims brightly.

Taking the chair next to Tobar, she makes a little gasping sound and flutters her small hand rapidly in front of her face as though she's about to faint. It's warm in here tonight for sure! she sheds her heavy blue cloak and places it over the back of her seat before sitting back down very close to the brightly-garbed dwarf.

I also use the "Look at me I'm speaking in character!" when I post as Kythas in another PbP, but I am the only one in that group to use the quotation marks, so I'll likely let them go for this PbP unless DM Todd would have otherwise. =D

Same deal with the Oh my! I can't believe he's taking off his pants!! when I'm only thinking about things.

Of course the gnome will be a lot more like That's a pretty neat holy symbol she's wearing, I'd wonder if she'd miss it if I just borrowed it for awhi... Oh-oh... Thinking out loud again!!!

The rosy-cheeked gnome lass gave a tiny "Harumph" as she gazed up at the poster in growing dismay.
Goblins... They surely could have waited until Spring to start with their antics. Stuffing the last bit of a honeyed sweet roll into her mouth, she pulled the deep blue cloak a bit tighter around her neck as she shivered in the frosty mid-fall morning. I guess I'll have to see what this is about then.

A few minutes after the appointed time listed on the placard she arrives at the Rusty Dragon. Perfumed and pretty, with her eyes painted a bold orange-yellow and her fiery auburn hair swept up in a loose Varisian scarf of vibrant Autumn colors. A dark shade of red, the hue of a turning Maple leaf splashed her soft lips.
Despite the delicate appearance of her face, the gnome was otherwise geared for adventure. A shirt of fine chain was visible beneath her brown blouse and well-worn leather boots peaked out from under her pleated skirt. She wore a small, but deadly black-handled rapier at her side.

Allowing the door to close loudly behind her, she enjoyed the few stares that it bought her from the assembled crowd at the tavern and approached her friend Tobar, a dwarven priest, and a halfling monk she had seen around but never chanced to speak with.

A girl's gotta make a suitable entrance, I s'pose. she smiles broadly, throwing a suggestive wink at Tobar before giving the dwarf a big hug. I hope I didn't miss anything.
Looking over at the monk, she introduces herself enthusiastically to him after freeing the cleric from her embrace.
I'm Kallista Firebloom! she announces a tad louder than she probably should have, Scholar of religions both common and obscure, and occasional singer at the local hotspots. My friends and close acquaintances call me Kallie. Or Kal. Or Kallista... Yup, they call me Firecracker too. Oh My! There I go! She stifles a short giggle and extends her hand to the halfling in a gesture of friendship. Very pleased to meet you... letting the last bit hang as though expecting a name.

That's a pretty sweet link GMT. I'll be reading that for the rest of my night here at work. Let me know if you need anything changed on the gal. I'm a bit behind on the which Pathfinder stuff is up to date except the core books.

Works for me too.
Kallista could easily have been an entertainer at the Rusty Dragon for the last year between reviewing her passion for religious knowledge and preparing for another adventure, given her lengthy gnomish lifespan and general inattentiveness to to time.

Plus Tobar is a Cleric! Even more fitting! Throw in a relatively obscure religion and a similar outlook on the world (ie Chaotic Good alignment) and its a match made in... Sandpoint, I guess!

Kallista - have you seen the Dawnflower Dervish archetype in Inner Sea Magic?

Its a bit more selfish than your normal bards, but dripping in Sarenrae flavour.

It looks really cool Tobar, but is a bit too physical for the little gal. I think it's awesome they switched it over to Bard from Fighter too.

I changed her deity to Desna and gave her a nice range of alternate racial abilities, traits to bolster her face skills and a shortbow for some ranged plinking.

The whole "Gnome Cleric of Fire" concept was actually one of my sister's creations for the Kingmaker game we're running, and I really liked her surprising efficiency as well as the flavor. The extra damage die on burning hands was critical in clearing out a certain lair they stumbled upon early in the AP and she was a top-notch healer with all those Channels she had.

It was a pretty easy switch to bard, because the Religion-Obsessed concept was my own device. It fits a scholar better than a healer, so she works out just as good, and I still get to enjoy the original character concept every other week or so when I DM the AP.

Done and Done! One half-pint Bard ready to roll out some +1 to everything goodness!

Kallista, proceed with the switch to a bard, please.

Will Do!

Thanks so much for choosing me. I'll have the lil gal all switched over to a bard if needed by midnight tonight.
