Appearance:

A common Dwarven male in appearance, with a ruddy complexion and reddish-blonde hair. His beard seems to flow like a river from his head, and like that on his hair, is most often braided. What draws attention to this character is his obvious devotion to Torag. By appearance, Kalgrin might not seem like a desirable companion, as his disposition, if possible to assess via looks alone, seems quite hard and worn. He is typical in height, but a bit weightier than a standard Dwarf. A careful observer will note that he enjoys frequent snacking.

Background:

Kalgrin is not one that is quick to talk. What is known about him is not well-known. He is devoted, and is quick to stand up for those that have been wronged and are not empowered to fend for themselves. About the only thing he is quicker to do is to track down those that appear to be "getting away with something". He tends to travel alone or in small groups. Like a typical Dwarf, he abides by popular opinions of his kind that other races just don't meet the mark, but he is open minded and loves to be pleasantly surprised. Those that win his favor have a friend for life. Even those that are less than honorable can earn his favor if they demonstrate they are making an honest effort to improve.

A devoted follower of Torag, Kalgrin is not fond of wooden structures, and would in fact prefer a cave to a stone structure above ground level. He prefers stone, and will forego a comfortable bed for the ground on all ocassions. While quiet in general, if one expresses an interest in Torag, he will speak for hours on end, discussing all matter of stone, caves, and deeds.

Kalgrin knows Alfrik from years ago at the War College. Kalgrin was employed there for a while helping to mend those fallen to their lessons. It was during this time that Alfrik learned of a beligerant student that was trying to best Kalgrin, only to find himself bested. Through this story Alfrik and Kalgrin were introduced and "befriended" one another - it was more mutal respect and race that tied the two together. Alfrik learned of Kalgrin's ability to keep a unit of warriers operating at their best. Kalgrin admired Alfrik's leadership, devotion to his arts, and high level of skill.
