No need to apologize, Dungeon Master S. In fact, thank you very much for picking this up for us! It was fun.

"We must report Ironjaw and let the Society know that these kinds of plots may be happening in the area. I would report everything in detail. I trust the leaders' judgement. They can decide what to do about it and whether being lenient is suitable."

Kalak looks to her travel companions to make sure they can handle the situation from there, then she goes back to the goblins they make sure they didn't use the distraction to cause trouble or to escape somehow.

Kalak hears one of the men slumping as he his killed by a single arrow. She winces. "Try not to kill them!" Meanwhile, she keeps punching the leader and trying to knock him out.

Non-lethal damage again, with no penalty since it's unarmed strikes.

I just noticed I forgot to mention in ooc that I wanted that attack to be non lethal damage.

When the fight suddenly breaks out, Kalak goes to protect Akhila. She doesn't draw her weapons, however. She only clenches her fists as she moves toward Enrik, shouting at him, "Stop this madness at once!" Well aware that simply telling him to stop won't be enough, she is fully intent on knocking him out, hoping that the others will settle down if their apparent leader can't fight.

Frowning and pinching her lips, Kalak listens to akhila's concerns. She nods. "I'll take second watch, then. I guess we won't get a very long night of sleep, but a good meal and a warm place are still welcome." She then goes to seek out a bowl of soup or some other warm meal.

Kalak makes sure everyone is leaving and that nobody is lagging behind, and she follows the group, closing the marching order.

Kalak nods in return, slightly more deeply and slowly, like a bow starting only at the neck. "It is only what should be expected. I will not leave a fellow pathfinder to fight alone."

She grunts a little when Hullric speaks of a master. "Right, constructs. We'd better not waste time, then. Let's take a quick look and be on our way." she searches along with Grynt to speed up the process.

Decisive, Kalak steps into the minuscule home and attempts to use speed and seemingly erratic movement to avoid any possible attack from the doll.

acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

Attempting not to touch any flames to her robes makes the whole maneuver somewhat more difficult than usual, however. Despite that, as soon as she spins around back towards the doll, she lashes with her cold iron kama, flames trailing along with the blade.

base damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
fire damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Would Grynt's attack also deal 1d4 fire damage thanks to Zailus' performance? Or does it not work on projectiles? Another question so I can plan the next turn: is it possible for me to take a 5 foot step north-west into the house? Or will I have to move and make a single attack?

Oops, didn't realize you had posted while I read and thought about what I should do. I hope you don't mind the double post. I'll pretend I didn't move behind Grynt, I guess, since I wasn't quick enough to respond, and I'll make my turn here? Also, is there a door on this tiny house?

Kalak draws her kamas as she goes to stand by Grynt's side and gets ready to attack if the doll comes out.

Draw my weapons as part of the move, ready an attack with the cold iron kama.

At first, Kalak is unsure about what Akhila said. She thinks it would be wise to simply be on their way and avoid such a thing as murderous dolls if they can, but she sees Grynt approach the house and, not wanting to leave him alone in case there is trouble, she attempts to follow him very quietly.

While the others are trying to get some information and supplies in the village, Kalak stays with the goblins to keep an eye on them. When they come back and start speaking of a ferryman, she sighs. "Wrestling with such big ones would be difficult, but I don't think I can lie or flatter him. I can stay quiet behind you if needed, that's about it."

Oops. Sorry about the whole take 10 thing from yesterday. I guess I was too tired when I posted that.

Kalak tenses slightly when she hears Zailus speak of burning the goblins, worried he might sacrifice the mission in his zeal, but the lie seems to serve its purpose and she keeps working on the shelter.

When Grynt mentions a snowstorm, Kalak's eyes become wide. She seems a little nervous. "This will be the first snowstorm I have to go through." She grimaces in disgust when the goblins speak of drinking their blood, but doesn't speak to them, preferring to glare at them for a couple seconds and hoping that will show them that this kind of behavior is unwelcome, but will not shake them in their resolve to accomplish their mission.

While she doesn't know much about this climate or area, she figures they will need a roof, and that pine bows might work and could be tied in much the same way palm leaves would, so she does her best to gather some and tie them together, bringing the structure to Hullric as he works on the shelter.

For me, take 10 in survival will give me 12. I'll use that to help Hullric.

GM Emmjay: thanks for taking us through the first steps of this adventure. I hope everything is going ok for you. :)

Kalak frowns at the gutsy goblin who attacked her as she slashes at him with both kamas.

attack cold iron: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23

attack silver: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

So, if I understand well, those goblins are on the ground floor and fairly easy to reach?

Kalak grits her teeth and holds back a curse as she rushes forward to meet the enemy head on, drawing her two kamas. When she's almost at the towers, she thinks better of it and decides not to go into a closed space with the goblins and adopts a defensive posture.

Move during the surprise round, then move and total defense, bringing my AC up to 19 for this turn.

I'll just use the rolls from yesterday night for this, if you don't mind.

Kalak decides to follow Grynt towards the south tower, worried about who might be hiding in there.

We should probably have the goblins somewhere among us, don't you think? I probably wouldn't have them simply walking on one side of the path. I didn't move them, though, but if everyone agrees, there's a nice clear area right in the middle of the group.

Kalak stares at the towers for a moment. She puts her finger to her lips in a gesture that clearly signifies they should all keep quiet as she listens and watches carefully, attempting to find out if there is anyone guarding this pass.

After listening to Lightfoot's answer to Grynt, Kalak will ask in a low voice, "Are there some places we should avoid along the way to avoid unnecessary trouble?"

Kalak winces as she listens to the others joking about the goblins' honor, but tries to hold her tongue, having no love for the creatures either. However, when Zailus adopts a more serious tone and insists on making what he just said seem fine, she can't help but to mumble, "At least care about the honor of the Society. They're our charges." As she says this, she directs her eyes anywhere but towards those who made the jokes, unable to look them in the eye. Her face shows an odd mix of indignation and timidity.

Before we leave, I'd like to get a cold-weather outfit and a cloak of resistance +1, which is available to me thanks to playing through The Consortium Compact. That would cost me 1008gp. Shall I change it on my profile right away?

A Tian woman stands unnaturally still and quiet in a corner, arms resting at her sides, listening to the briefing. Her posture looks rather rigid. Her dark hair is tied back in a long ponytail. Her toned arms and legs make the fabric of her monk's robes drape in such a way that it reveals her strong build, despite it being loose enough to allow for plenty of freedom of movement.

As she listens, she nods slightly at every new piece of information Valsin gives them. She never takes her eyes off him, intent on not missing any piece of information. When he is done talking, she nods briskly. "Whatever the Grand Lodge needs. I'll make sure it is done to your satisfaction."

She bows to the assembled team. "My name is Kalak." She also listens carefully as everyone introduces themselves and talks of the coming mission. When Zailus mentions cold-weather outfits, she nods. "I'll need one of those too. I'm not used to cold weather. Do we have some time to get supplies?" she asks, turning to Valsin once again.

When Zailus speaks out about fire, Kalak scowls for a second. "Just make sure not to let them get their hands on any source of fire."

I've updated my profile with the new level. All that's left is to decide if I want to buy something. Also, I'm fairly new to PFS. If I do decide to buy an item, do I just tell you so before we start the scenario? And do I take the gold off my sheet right away or will it be on the chronicle?

Hi everyone! (I just sent a request to be able to modify the Google Doc)

Kalak's smile shows pride and happiness and getting such approval when Elisa Petulengro commends them for their actions. She bows to the other pathfinders.

When Bash passes around a bottle of strong alcohol, Kalak smirks looking at the merry group, but refuses to drink any. "I'm not sure I'd handle that so well, thanks."

Once they get to the lodge, she lets Bash talk before she chimes in. "Yes, we were delayed in meeting Armeline because the place was haunted. We figured it would be best to help the town people after they found Elm dead of mysterious causes, so we dealt with the undead."

Kalak helps dig up graves. When townsfolk join in, she starts asking them about Armeline, trying to figure out where they might find her and what she looks like, mainly. She also keeps an eye out for her in case she'd come by. Seeing as she doesn't and their trip is coming to a close, she starts getting worried. When Bash mentions needing to speak to her, she nods. "We should take advantage of this festival's rituals. Maybe the Society's apologies will be better received during their rites of forgiveness."

Kalak looks nervous as she starts worrying about having to talk to her, since nobody seems to be speaking up. "I hope I don't mess this up," she mutters, remembering all the times her attempts at diplomacy backfired. Still she waves to her companions and shows them the direction of Armeline's most likely location according to what townsfolk have said.

Looks good to me!

Kalak looks as if she was startled by her name being spoken. "I suppose I could hold on to it."

Hey! I just wanted to drop by and say I may not manage to post this weekend, as I'm going to a lodge with family members and have no idea if there is internet over there. Feel free to bot me if needed. It's pretty simple. As much as possible, Kalak flurries with her kamas. If she can only use one attack for any reason, she prioritizes her cold iron one. In case I don't show up again until Sunday night, enjoy the weekend!

Kalak follows the others into the ruins and lets others pick out whichever items they want, looking around her with a grim air. "It looks like we're done here. We should go check on the people in Rosehaven. And find that woman, Armeline."

Is it bad form to check the hp and AC of monsters when we make attacks so as to know if we hit the thing? I probably wouldn't have touched anything with those rolls, but I'd have tried something else. Then again, with those numbers, I should have thought about it even without checking. :P Just wish I had my weapons in hand right now.

Kalak winces at her lack of good reflexes as she looks at the empty space she tried to hit, the skeleton turned to dust and blown into what little wind there is. She draws both of her kamas, steps up to the burning skeleton and attacks it with the cold iron one.

"Do we ever not do things the hard way?" Kalak asks in response to Natalia's comment. She quickly steps next to Bash to punch the nearest skeleton twice in quick succession(the grey one).

Kalak listens to the others talking about Gyronna and frowns in confusion before she throws in a comment. "Being a victim doesn't excuse everything. Sowing more hatred will solve nothing." As she says so, she follows the group and makes her way to the front.

Kalak is a little confused by the leshy's immense trust in a bundle of feathers, but she accepts it as some other tradition she isn't aware of. As they come upon the burnt house, she recalls something vaguely. "Didn't Bertinard talk of burning the house of... someone?"

Kalak turns to N'Ing with a look of sudden realisation, having completely forgotten about the feather token. "That may be it. Show him."

That seems right. I don't specifically need any of those things, so I'll let whoever else wants it take it.

Kalak observes the leshy for a while more, trying to make sense of the pantomime. "Looks like this poor thing met the same things we did."

She looks at the others breaking pumpkins in a show of solidarity and turns to Bash, who is ready to break more. "I don't think breaking all the pumpkins will help anyone."

Then she turns back to the leshy and attempts to make her voice as soft as possible, all the while unsure if the thing understands her. "That must have been scary. But they're gone now. We met them and sent them back where they came from."

Kalak stops at the edge of the field and stares at the plant creature for a moment. Hearing the comments of her companions, she mutters, "It sure doesn't look threatening."[b] She then raises her voice slightly to address the little one, though in her usual quivering voice, [b]"I'm sorry, I have no idea what you're trying to say. What's going on?"

Kalak bows to Father Bertinard as he heals her burns. There is a strange mix of gratitude, confusion at what just happened and annoyance at her apparent lack of use all showing at once on her face. As usual, she quietly listens to the others before chiming in to give her assent. "While we shouldn't forget the reason for our being here, I'm certain the Society wouldn't want us to stand by idly while these things roam. Whatever you think is best suited, I will follow."

So far, looks like we're following that trail.

Kalak holds back a curse as she realizes the things she saw earlier managed to go around the house without her noticing. She quickly makes her way through the house, amid her companions and out the door as she draws her kamas.

Double-move, weapons drawn. Unless told otherwise, I'm using the cold-iron kama for AoOs. Also, I'm using diagonals to move without provoking attacks of opportunity (unless something has reach) and to flank with the eagle for now.

Also, shouldn't bash be out the door, considering what he said in his last post? Or at least nearby?

Kalak barely pays attention to the conversation anymore as she tries to identify whatever it was she saw moving out of the corner of her eye. When she hears Natalia suggest relocating, she finally speaks, though in her usual quiet voice. "It might be too late for that. I can't say what it is, but there's definitely something moving out there, and I have a bad feeling it's not a stray cat."

"Whatever we do, we better be careful." Kalak mutters from her spot by the window, still glancing outside regularly. She can spot some moss in the distance and can't help but worry.

As father Bertinard invites them in, Kalak nods in acknowledgment and smiles gratefully, happy to find some warmth, but lets the others talk. Once inside the man's living room, she spots a window and goes to stand next to it as she tries to keep an eye on what's going on outside while still paying attention to the priest.

Kalak looked at the map and notes for a moment, trying to see what Ternibri said was there. "I'll trust you on this. I don't know how this... whisperthing got there, but it doesn't sound good. We should follow the trail as quickly as possible. Unless you know where the tip of that spiral is? I really can't decipher this thing."
