Before you ask: why yes, this IS for a game! Specifically, an adventure where we will begin at level 6. Now, onto the question at hand: I'm wondering how people would suggest creating Angela from Marvel comics into Pathfinder. In the comics, Angela wields a spear and uniquely-shaped sword. She's an Angel from the realm of Heven, and she is an extremely strong warrior. No wings to speak of, and the ribbons that make up her costume can animate at will and slice like razor blades. Most writers have depicted her as aloof and neutral, concerned with upholding the law and deals more than following passions. So yeah: let's hear your theories!

Thanks for the advice so far, especially your detailed thoughts, Jolly. I was actually more worried about making the class OP, but from what you're saying, I could stand to mix up when the class gains abilities and beef them up a bit.

It's honestly been awhile since I designed this, but I think the reason I went Intelligence based is that the closest analogue to what I had imagined was a Rogue, focusing on Dex and Int stats. Wisdom makes sense from a lore point, do you think that would work well for a class that uses martial weapons and physical damage?

Ciaran, it's basically a mix of both 2WF and grappling class concepts, hence not giving them the restrictions. I wanted this class' abilities to be versatile, not to be abused. So often I see PCs form one strategy for how they deal with threats and never step outside that. I didn't want them to be TOO good with 2WF or grappling so that they wouldn't become a one-trick pony. That being said, I can see how it makes the overall execution weaker. I'll re-examine with your thoughts in mind.

Thanks a lot for the feedback so far! I was afraid people would hate it or think me totally stupid. Like I said, first homebrew content. =)

Hello, everyone!

So I have a homebrew class I'd love some feedback on. It's called the CQC Expert, and is , as you can possibly guess from the name, based on Naked Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series. Here's the link:

CQC Expert

This is a first draft, so I'm fully aware that it isn't yet balanced. What I'd love is some feedback from everyone as to how I can tweak and adjust as needed while still keeping the core concept of a PC that gets in close and takes control of his enemies.

There's a couple ideas in here that are, as far as I know, totally new to Pathfinder, so if certain abilities are worded poorly or you're not sure what I mean, please let me know and I'll clarify.

If anyone wants to take it for a test spin, even better. All of my usual group has moved away, and I live in a small town where it's darn near impossible to get involved with new groups.

Basically, this is my first homebrew content and I'm very much aware that it's not perfect. Help me out to make it better? =)

Might want to look up Numeria, Land of Super-Science, Golarion's very own source of alien tech. Whatis the difference of tech and magic? Anti-magic field...
The unfortunate part is that Paizo is hesitant to expand on Numeria because they fear the backlash that will most likely come when people get uptight about sci-fi getting in their sword-and-sorcery fantasy.
True but it is a clear hook put in for people like Kaiph.

Ah yes, Numeria. That place has indeed had a lot I could take and run with. I guess I need to be a bit more creative and flexible with how I'm looking at it, since I hadn't really thought of translating Numeria tech into alien tech.

Hi guys,

My apologies if this has been covered before; I searched but only found one thread that came close to what I'm looking for and that didn't go far in-depth. This is also my first post to the Paizo forums and I'm still relatively new to Pathfinder, so forgive my ignorance, as much as I may have.

That out of the way, here's why I'm posting: I'd like to figure out a way to incorporate sci-fi elements into the world of Golarion. I know that there are many systems out there that do this already (Shadowrun, Alternity, Spelljammer all come to mind) but from what I've seen, those blend the two universes into one far more than I would like. I'm sort of the Michael Bay of our roleplaying group; when it's my turn to tell the stories, I go for the big and world-altering stuff. I don't want a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, I want a clash. I want to figure out a way for Golarion to be invaded by advanced races who possess technology, and I want to craft a story that has our archetypal fantasy heroes fighting through these forces.

A somewhat parallel experience might be Resistance: Fall of Man for PlayStation 3. In that game (for those who haven't played), WWII is somewhat... we'll say "interrupted" by the Chimera, an alien life form that spreads from Russia into all corners of the globe. The Chimera have incredibly advanced tech and weaponry, which forces humans to take more desperate measures and careful planning. They can't brute force their way through these guys.

I'd like to make something similar to that. From what I've seen, most blends of sci-fi and fantasy focus on the former and incorporate the latter. It's usually a future that ALSO has magic, not a medieval fantasy that ALSO has tech. I figure if I set campaigns during an invasion it gives justification as to why tech isn't everywhere and it will keep the overall "fantasy" vibe, but I need some help and ideas on mechanics. I've been tossing all sorts of things about in my head, including having guns fire more like spells than firearms, to further emphasize this is strange, alien technology people don't understand.

I know this is all very bare bones, but I'm wondering if someone else out there has done something similar, if anyone has ideas for how to structure the campaign, or what-have-you. The Advanced Race Guide and Ultimate Equipment have been amazing tools for this, as I've already created a couple races and tech armor.

So, would anyone like to throw their hat into the ring with me? Does anyone have some ideas of how this could work? Or maybe you've tried it and know it won't work? I'm looking for ideas, feedback, your homebrew classes, weapons, armor, items, etc. Anything to get this to go from "vague idea" to "playable material."

Thanks!
