Paladin/Sorcerer/Magus.

This combo sounds like it could be very cool/interesting/fun, to play. I'm just not sure that it would work well/be effective.

It seems at first glance that there could be a lot of cool/good/useful/interesting overlap in features etc.

I haven't thought about character creation yet, but 2 issues come to mind immediately:
1: It's quite a MAD character design
and
2: There seems to be some bad/unnecessary, overlap/duplication in Magus/Sorcerer features.

Thoughts?

Disclaimer: I haven't played or GM'ed in a few years.

What I'm trying to figure out is how many attacks I could make with a longbow say, against a group on enemies, before they close to melee range.

Assume: My character has a longbow. I see a group of med size creatures in the distance (no cover or concealment).
They don't see me.

My questions are:
A: At what distance do I first see them?
B: At what distance can I make a ranged attack with my bow? (I assume 100 feet).
C: Assuming they start running towards me once they realize they are being fired upon, how many arrows can I fire before they arrive at my location?
D: What are 10 range increments for a longbow, in terms of distance (feet)?

For C above: I'm kinda guessing 2:
First for a surprise round/action and
Second as they close to me (running at 120 feet per round).

BUT:
1: It seems to me that I should be able to fire off more arrows as they run towards me.

2: I'm pretty sure I'm missing something about range increments/penalties, notably this:
"Range: Any attack at more than this distance is penalized for range. Beyond this range, the attack takes a cumulative –2 penalty for each full range increment (or fraction thereof) of distance to the target. For example, a dagger (with a range of 10 feet) thrown at a target that is 25 feet away would incur a –4 penalty. A thrown weapon has a maximum range of five range increments. A projectile weapon can shoot to 10 range increments."
Hence question D, above.

Advice/answers/opinions much appreciated thanx.

Hi all.
I was just wondering if there's a table (like, 2 columns: 1 = Name of trait, 2 = Benefit) anywhere that summarizes all traits? I've seen tables that summarize Feats, but not traits.

Thanks

So the idea here is a player approaches you as the GM and says they want to create/play a lightly armoured fighter. They will give up proficiency in medium and heavy armour as well as shields.

The reason they wish to do this, is irrelevant to this discussion.

What they want to know is, what you as the GM would give them in exchange for these restrictions/disadvantages?

I think a bonus feat and a bonus trait sound okay. Two feats seems a bit much.

What do others think?

It would seem to me that there's no reason to do this. Let me explain.

Fighting with a weapon in each hand, OR a weapon and shield, OR a 2-handed weapon all seem like better options, FROM a rules/benefit to character, point of view (more attacks, better AC, more damage etc).

However, I think it's a lot more likely that lots of characters/monsters etc would actually use a 1-handed weapon and keep their other hand free (for a variety of reasons).
However there seems to be no reward/benefit/advantage to going this.

Am I wrong?

I can see reasons for keeping a hand free BUT I can't see any benefit for a character to do this. Are there any, from a rules/benefit to character, point of view?
