Merits:
Concentration - 1 pt: You have the ability to focus your mind and shut out any distractions or annoyances. Characters with this merit are unaffected by penalties stemming from distracting circumstances (e.g. loud noises, strobe lights, or hanging upside down).
Language - 3 x 1 pt You know a language in addition to your native one. You can take this merit multiple times, each reflects a different language - Spanish, Latin, Greek
Eidetic Memory - 2 pt You remember, with perfect detail, things you see and hear. Documents, photographs, conversations, etc., can be committed to memory with only minor concentration. Under stressful conditions involving multiple distractions, you must make a Perception + Alertness roll (difficulty 6) to summon enough concentration to absorb what you senses detect.
Controllable Night Sight - 2pt Your night vision is extraordinarily good, even for a vampire. The deepest shadows are like looking into a well-lit room for you. However, in normal light or bright conditions, you have to switch back to less sensitive vision, or the weakest light quickly blinds you. While your night sight is active, you suffer no penalties for the dark and can see perfectly well. Should you use it in well-lit conditions; you suffer a penalty inversely proportional to the usual penalties for darkness.
Flaws:
Phobia (Tight Enclosures) - 2 pt You have an overpowering fear of something. Spiders, snakes, crowds, and heights are examples of common phobias. You must make a Courage roll every time you encounter the object of your fear. The difficulty of the roll is determined by the Storyteller. If you fail the roll, you must retreat from the object.
Impatient - 1 pt You have no patience for standing around and waiting. You want to do things now - f&+% those slowpokes trying to hold you back. Every time you are forced wait around instead of acting, a Self-Control roll is required to see if you go tearing off on your own instead.
Nightmares - 1 pt You experience horrendous nightmares every time you sleep, and memories of them haunt you during your waking hours. Upon awakening, you must make a Willpower roll (difficulty 7) or lose a die on all actions for that night. A botch Willpower roll indicates that, even when awake, you still believe that you are locked in a nightmare.
Permanent Fangs - 3pt Your fangs do not retract, making it impossible for you to hide your true nature. While some mortals may think you’ve had your teeth filed or are wearing prosthetics, sooner or later you’re going to run into someone who knows what you truly are. You are also limited to a maximum Appearance rating of 3.

History:
In 2004 Justin was a normal graduate student, studying ancient history until he met Dr. (Alexander) Scarborough. Dr. Scarborough is an older gentleman and he doesn’t get out in the field much anymore and was seeking a pair of hands to help him with the field work portion of his current project. Justin, needing a bit more cash than his T.A. stipend was providing answered the ad and got the job…and a bit more than what he had bargained for.
Dr. Scarborough is part of a society known as the Arcanum, a group dedicated to seeking out the mysteries of this world – particularly those of a nature that others would seek to keep from the mortal world.
This first job Dr. Scarborough had for him would send him to the deserts of Arizona to dig through some long forgotten Navajo ruins, in search of information on something called the Wendigo – the job didn’t go as planned. While crawling through a tight cave system, the tunnel partially collapsed trapping Justin inside. He would have likely died that night had he not been fortunate enough to retain a cell signal and contact Dr. Scarborough. Scarborough made the necessary arrangements to have a pair of Arcanum field agents dig Justin out. To Justin’s credit, even being beyond panicked, he managed to retrieve the information (a stone tablet) that Dr. Scarborough wanted, although he did not come out of the experience completely unscathed. Now Justin is deathly afraid of confined spaces and still has nightmares about the experience – a side of effect of having an eidetic memory, it’s really hard to put experiences like that into the past if you can’t put them out of your head.
Despite the trouble and the issues, Justin managed to gain Dr. Scarborough’s trust (and to a lesser extent admiration) and has been working for Scarborough as an Arcanum field agent ever since.
The latest mission has Justin having just arrived in El Paso, Texas checking into rumors of the walking dead and if they do exist what can be learned from them or are they mindless brutes. Only time will tell.
