Like a few of the others have said, Juid is not really playing the way I imagined. I think I could and would contribute a lot more with a skill monkey, because infiltration and exploration aren't areas where he has much to give. But I feel like this group needs a driver and it doesn't seem to have one. I would likely start over with a different character.

Czein wrote: Heh, sorry pal... I always forget how much of a jerk Czein is until he gets a chance to be one xD No worries. I could have had him land on his feet and do something else, but I thought this was truer to his character.

While trying to paddle to the best of his ability, Juid injects, "That temple to Pharasma might be a wondeful target. Not only might we free up some resistance fighters but they might also have some useful resources hidden away."

Juid glances at the dhampir in surprise and then realizes she's joking with him and smiles. Then he wonders if she IS joking with him and his smile tightens just a tad at the edges. "While I believe in omens, I think counting is merely a handy convention. I can certainly wield the wand, and it will allow me to use my spells to better, or rather, other purpose. However, if there is another who can use it, it would be handy to double up our healing in a pinch." His eyes continue to wander down the shoreline looking for a raft. When he doesn't find one, he considers how best to ensure that Pisîm isn't devoured by a hungry animal. "Marit, if something should happen to me in the town, I hope you'll make good use of this fine beast." he says, scratching the donkey between the ears.

"You are probably correct, Marit, though I have never tried. Perhaps there is a raft?" he ponders, looking around hopefully. "Normally I wouldn't think twice about leaving him here to graze for a day or two, but with weasels here the size of rocs, I'm loathe to do so this time. Just how deep are these waters? Is there perhaps a place to ford them?"

Worried about infection, Juid fetches water from the village's source - well or stream - and moves forward to wash and examine Czein's wounds. He flushes out the bite wound, watching for any signs of "water-fright". After doing so, he invokes the aid of Sarenrae and channels positive energy CPE: 1d6 ⇒ 4 to undo the rodent's damage, first making sure to put enough distance to between them and the creature.

Charge is an exception to what Crystal said. "If you are able to take only a standard action or a move action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed). You can’t use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action or move action on your turn."

Concerned by his colleagues' lack of success in even touching the dire weasel, Juid quietly moves Pisîm off to a safer spot, a fire bolt readied if the creature comes within 30 feet. Let's get this out of the way just in case.
Huh. If someone manages to cast hold monster on him just before my attack, AND I catch him flat-footed, I might have a chance!

Very quietly, Juid tells the others, "These villagers were slain not more than a day ago. I'm not an advocate of killing forest animals unless it's for food or self-defense, but these people deserve funeral rites. And... am I mistaken or is that a frigging enormous weasel?"

Juid nods to the half-elf (take 10 for 15 Perception) and then reddens perceptibly as he looks at the half-orc and sees the extent of his wounds.
Well, I would love to cure like that all the time!

Juid reaches out a hand as if to interfere with Czein, but he himself appears undecided as to what alternatives to offer and grimaces as the action is executed. He speaks a short prayer over the four corpses and then calls Pisîm to him.

Speaking to the group, Juid interjects, "While I understand that it is hobgoblin nature to do so, I don't feel we can allow them to loot and enslave this town if it is in our power to stop them. On the other hand, this situation developed because other humans drove them out of their last lair. If we manage to drive them out of this one, they'll just go in search of the next poorly fortified town. Somehow the circle must end."

Tapping into his sacred summons power, Juid moves forward and casts summon monster I to summon a small celestial dog that appears behind the western (left on map) hobgoblin attacking Czein, so that it and Czein are flanking the hobgoblin. Note that the sacred summons power makes this a standard action spell. The dog barks aggressively and immediately tries to bite the hobgoblin using its smite evil ability. bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 dmg: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 dog stats: N Small celestial/fiendish animal Init +1; Senses darkvision, low-light vision, scent; Perception +8 DEFENSE

In alarm, Juid gestures to the others to stop and be quiet. He looks around for obvious places to hide himself AND a mule, thinking that diplomacy is out of the question with this sort.

Juid admires the technical wonder and shrugs his shoulders. We have talented friends here who might get past that device, but I haven't a clue. I can, however, provide some spiritual guidance.

Juid tosses himself to the side to avoid what looks like an assault. When he realizes that he was mistaken, he gets up to brush himself off. "Can we find a more secure place to plan? I'd prefer that a patrol not catch us with our pants down."

Czein's plan is a little... bloody... for my tastes but I do think ambushing a patrol is a clever way of getting information and access into the town. We might even borrow their uniforms to get close enough to the gate. Perhaps someone has the ability to charm one or more of them into assisting us?

Juid first looks open hopefully, thinking his deity has something in store for them personally. The appearance of the familiar sigil invalidates that notion. He prepares to be transported yet somewhere else until the half-elf appears. Juid winces as Sutandir hits the stone floor with a thud. Sutandir sees an old man with his head shorn and the almond-brown skin of the Keleshites, wearing modest robes and the holy symbol of the Dawnflower. He carries no obvious weapons, except perhaps his walking stick. Near him waits a laden donkey, its eyes impassive, the soul of patience.

Juid rushes down the corridor and sees the setup. With a prayer to Sarenrae, he shoots off a firebolt at the spider, accepting the minus to not hit Crystal or the others. ranged touch attack: 1d20 - 5 ⇒ (10) - 5 = 5 The bolt pounds into the ceiling over its head, singing a few webs.

"That seems reasonable, Ragnar. But let's see what Crystal has discovered." Juid listens to the scratching she pointed out, trying to determine if there is any rhyme or reason to it. Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
