Joreld keeps pace with the others as they seek Basil and his quarry
"Well", the paladin says as he stands up. "We must be off. Much to do before sunset. Thank you, Korwen for you hospitality."
I'm eager to leave and look elsewhere for our ranger.
Good news! My computer issues have been resolved. So I can post more regularly again. I'm just a little lost, is all. I'm so used to APs here on the forums, that given the wings to fly, I'm afraid to soar. Please be patient with Joreld: he's just as dense as his player. But he IS handsome!
Yesterday, my home computer took a dive. I can sneakily post at work, but for now I'm using my phone, so posting will be sporadic.
"So what is the golem's duties, exactly?" Joreld counters.
"I agree", Joreld nods. "And I'm certain owning a golem does differentiate you from your neighbors."
"What a strange woman", Joreld bluffs.
"The lady speak true, Korwen. I am Lord Joreld Huntsilver of Cormyr. Your help would be greatly appreciated." The paladin takes out two gold pieces from his coin purse.
Players, I seek advice. What should Joreld do next?
The former Purple Dragon wants to move closer but is afraid to reveal his position. So the red-scaled warrior stands like a statue, unable to move.
Once the barn door closes, Joreld will attempt to reach the barn wall without being noticed.
Joreld wakes before the dawn, but glories Lathander in silence. The paladin knows he's on a mission where digression is key. The red-scaled warrior isn't set up for stealth, but makes sure his heavy mace will be ready when needed.
"Alright. But I'll wait to sleep until both scouts come back", Joreld whispered.
"Pick. You have night sight?" The paladin whispered. "Do you think you can scout the barn safely?"
The paladin, not seeing anyone in the common room yet (Perception +2), Joreld goes outside to see Pick, as ready as always, with Sunrise and all the other mounts ready to go. The dwarf even adjusted Sunrise's saddle for his comfort. "Zounds! Thank you very much for getting Sunrise and the rest ready for the road. It is appreciated."
Joreld walks down the stairs to the main common room, ready to depart.
She looks to Joreld, ”Girl family name is Thersil. Know it?” The paladin ponders as he puts on his shoulder piece. "Thersil..Thersil.."
"Sounds good, Moonhunter", the paladin agrees. Joreld get up and starts to put his armor back on.
Joreld frowns, leaning on his hand at the table. "I wish I could cast augury like the clerics can. I'm certain The Bringer of the Dawn could tell us where to go next."
Joreld's eyes squint in an attempt to make sense of the dwarf. The paladin nods with Ialia's recollection of Lord Morn. The noble stakes a steady breath out. "I believe the message to Dagger Falls is crucial, allowing them to know of the conspiracy against Lord Morn. I feel we should continue our search for Glanwyn."
Joreld hears a knock on his door. It sounded urgent, so the nobleman opened to door. The paladin appears to be halfway in the removal of his red scaled armor.
Joreld moves his armor pieces off the chair he was using so someone could sit down.
Joreld leaves the table and retires to his room. The paladin did not wish to intrude on Ialia's evening activities.
When Annika finishes she asks, "Is Jammil worth bedding? Is he here now?" Joreld merely blinked at Ialia's audacity.
"I'm sure it will be fine for it's intended use", Joreld smiles. "The bed should be far softer than the ground."
"Hmm", the paladin considers. "It could be a random encounter. It might be what Samara needs to help acclimate herself to
"We shall wait and see", the Lothanderite stated.
"Yes", Joreld answered. "Please pardon us, Samara." The paladin gave a nod of acknowledgement to the half-elf, then turned the witch to walk the opposite way.
Joreld escorts Ialia outside the roadhouse in a courtly manner. The paladin and the witch makes several circuits around the frontier inn.
Looking around, Joreld commented, "Either in their rooms or milling about. Shall we risk a short walk outside?"
"The whispers of The Black Network are troubling", Joreld admits, "but I must work even hard to keep Hope alive in my heart, lest I fall in despair." The Lothenderian gently pats Ialia's hand. "Thanks for helping me talk this out, Lady Frostmoon." Joreld drags his finger across the back of the witch's hand slowly.
"'Relax' in the weakest sense", the paladin explains. "The more time passes, the more I am unsure we will find Glanwyn well."
Joreld watches Lady Frostmoon walk to her bath, then later when she returned. "Feeling refreshed?"
Joreld nodded to the inquisitor's wisdom wordlessly. The paladin appreciated Calen's candor and wit-isms while on the road, and has learned to rely on his council.
"Why, yes Matron", Joreld bows. "I'll pay for stabling for the group."

The paladin sidles up next to the inquisitor, not really sure what is even said or done. "Hope this works."
"Alright. Good luck, Pick", Joreld nodded.
Jareld nods in agreement, turning Sunrise to follow Pick. The paladin gives a small wave to onlookers as he departs.
Joreld meets Calen's eye with a shrug and a small shake to his head.
Sense Motive 20: The paladin doesn't sense evil, and is ready to move on.
Joreld rides Sunrise around the others, looking at the townsfolk and being looked at.
As a paladin, Joreld knows heroic protocol: the paladin rides his excellent steed with his back straight chest out and a content smile on his face as he greets the eyes of everyone he meets.
"We may not have access to the accomendations you requested, Miss Frostmoon." Lord Joreld commented.
He takes a glance toward the village below, tipping his hat against the weak sun. With a chuckle at Samara’s attempt, Calen nods approvingly. "Peaceful omelette, huh? Well, let’s hope this one don’t crack under the pressure o’ strangers comin’ through. Let’s head on in." The paladin laughs to Samara's confusion.
"Sounds sensible to me", Joreld answered.
Joreld stands quietly behind the inquisitor. His night clothes marked with his own blood, but glad he was alive.
Since no one has come forward for healing, Joreld assists Calen with the burials. The paladin hopes he can get back to sleep afterward.
Shaking his head, he'll put some gloves on and gather up the fallen bugbears, "come on, help me bury these ones Joreld, lest they attract predators," Joreld's body relaxes. "I shall as soon as I check for injuries." The paladin has 4 more Lay on Hands.
The paladin calls out into the darkness.
Round 4 Joreld looks up to see Ialia get shot by an arrow, as he lain prone.
