Hey that's not a bad option at all! Thanks!

Hmmm, yeah both have potential, but don't really accomplish what I was hoping for. Thanks a lot for the help, though.
I'll admit that I'm shocked there isn't a Feat or Archetype which does that trick. Pathfinder is SO flexible overall.

The only Paizo method I can think of would be VMC Cleric from Pathfinder Unchained

What is VMC Cleric?

Just a concept I have in mind. It would work best with an Oracle who could use the Deception Subdomain.

Is it possible to build an Oracle with access to a Domain or Subdomain?

Aaah ok, that's fantastic! Thank you

Seize the Initiative is an ability from the Tactics Subdomain. Is this a standard action? Swift? Free?
Thanks!

The Ecclesitheurge Archetype has this ability. But...it doesn't seem to indicate how many times per day it may be used, and at what cost. It seems to imply that one could just give one of their allies a +2 to any roll, every single round.
Does it at least count as an action to do so?
Thanks!

I guess it'd be pretty handy to complement Mystic Theurge as well. The switchable domain and bonded holy symbol make for a great deal of flexibility.
Shame PF doesn't have anything like Practiced Spellcaster....

RAW I suppose one is allowed to go with magical baubles of protection, as well as spell buffs, etc, correct?
Just not literal armor and/or shields?

I'm building a Cleric with the Ecclesitheurge Archetype, and was wondering if there is anything (Feat, Trait, etc) that might allow him to emulate the Monk's Wisdom based AC bonus to partially make up for the vow to not wear armor.
Thoughts?

Wow that's some serious customization! Would there happen to be a reliable and accurate guide to stacking by Class?

Actually, perhaps Cleric was the wrong Class to use for an example, as it looks like few to none of their Archetypes stack. But I think I get the idea now!

So, since those two example Archetypes BOTH affect the Cleric's standard Domain ability, they could NOT be stacked?
Gotcha!

I've only recently found out that one can 'stack' multiple Archetypes for a single Class, but I'm not sure I truly understand it.
For example, can a character have 2 Archetypes affecting a single level of a single Class?
If so, is it all or nothing, or can they be 'meshed'?
For example, could one be a Cleric with both the Separatist AND Ecclesitheurge Archetypes, but really only using the "Bonded Holy Symbol (Su)" aspect of the Ecclesitheurge?

Further, I would assume that stacking would not allow the potential twinkiness of allowing a character to have both Forbidden Rites AND Domain Mastery, thus allowing them to change their Secondary Domain once /day?

Any help in understanding this multiple-Archetype thing would be greatly appreciated!

It's much nicer to have a way to get into flanking position that doesn't depend so heavily on the enemy's cooperation.

Words of wisdom! :D

So I noticed the Deception Subdomain while making a Sanctified Slayer Inquisitor of the Mantis God

It seems as though gaining access to both the Subdomain and the Sneak Attack as quickly as possible would be a good way to go. Then it's a matter of

A)Being Missed
and
B)Taking advantage of new placement.

Cleric 1/Rogue 1 seems fastest, but is it 'best' in the overall scheme of things?

Thanks Markov!

Would you consider "inside the reach of the creature that attacked you" to include things like above or below them? So long as said space isn't blocked in any way?
What about using this ability to qualify for other teleport Abilities or Feats? That's assuming there ARE other such feats in Pathfinder...
Is the multiclassing with Rogue worth it for the Sneak Attack potential?

Character in question is starting at 2nd lvl.
So far I've got a Rogue 1/Cleric (Besmara)1
No specific Archetypes as yet.

Any suggestions for maximizing the utility and applications of this little trick?

Sudden Shift (Sp): In the blink of an eye, you can appear somewhere else. As an immediate action, after you are missed by a melee attack, you can teleport up to 10 feet to a space that you can see. This space must be inside the reach of the creature that attacked you. You can use this power a number of times each day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.

Nice!
Thanks so much!

Herald Caller (Cleric Archetype) has an ability which allows them to convert spells to summon monster, much like a standard Cleric can do with cure/inflict spells. But, it doesn't say that this ability replaces the cure ability. Does this mean that a Herald Caller possesses the option to convert a spell to either a cure or summon?
Thanks!

I need some advice.
I'm going to be running a game in which all the PCs are Dragons. True Dragons. Juvenile Age Category.
I'm not concerned about the crunch/rules/how-the-hell? aspects. I've got that figured out, thanks to Pathfinder.

My question, really, is one of 'where' I'm setting this colossal game.
I'm planning on using the Eberron style of handling Draconic alignements ie., there are none. The various types (chromatic, metallic, etc) are all simply races of Dragons. There is no particular leaning, save culture and personal proclivity, towards Good or Evil based on breed.

So, I considered using the Eberron setting.
However, the Dragons of 'modern' Eberron tend to stick to the shadows, contemplate philosophy, and otherwise stay out of the way...watch and wait is the way of the average Eberron Dragon.
Could I change this? Yes. But I like Eberron the way it is. I don't want to force a group of hyperactive Dragon Pcs on a very cool world.
Or, I could set it back in an earlier Age...but I didn't think much of ancient Eberron history.

Faerun?
Maybe...there was a fantastic period of war between Dragons and Giants quite some time ago. That sounds perfect!
Except there was also that mess with Evil Chromatics and Tiamat and blah blah blah

Am I looking for a homebrew?
Probably.

Mostly, atm, I'm looking for advice.

Help?

Excellent and informative! Thanks so much.
Additional question; how well does the Untapped Soulknife qualify for/blend with the Soulbow from Complete Psionic?

Thanks again Kvantum

I have a new player in my campaign who suffers rather mightily from dyslexia. It limits the amount of game knowledge he can absorb and, while he's a trooper, it places additional constraints on the other players and myself as DM.

This, however, is not the purpose of my posting, but rather some background as to why I'm hoping to 'cut to the chase' here.

He's rather smitten with the IDEA of the Soulknife for his new character.
He has not read the class in depth for reasons I relayed above.
I am personally not a bit fan of the class, and am well aware of the numerous 'fixes' and variants to be found on various fan forums.

What I'm looking for, if it pleases the community, is a cut-and-dried summation of 'the best' version of the soulknife available, whether that's in a printed book, pdf file, forum post, or something else.

I'm hoping, frankly, that some of the research has been done for me.

I don't mind bucking up and paying for something that comes highly recommended. But I really don't have the time to balance and playtest these multiple variants AND attempt to verbally explain it all to my player.

As an aside, he also liked the IDEA of the Soulbow...so that's another hurdle down the road.

Can anyone help direct me towards something solid?

Thanks so much for your help,
Arkham

I'm currently torn as to which Adventure Path to start my new campaign with...but the players were rather set on Eberron.
Has anyone had any experience with converting either of the existing Paths to that setting, or otherwise making use of them there?

Thanks so much

My group were all set to begin an Eberron campaign.
Then I foolishly mentioned the coming of 4th edition.
So we considered it.
We read about it.
We shuddered.
We wept a bit.
Now we're looking at all our existing DnD 3.5 materials and have a bitter taste in our collective mouths.

SO, I'm shopping a bit.

I downloaded the Alpha pdf, and have given it a cursory read.

I do, however, have a few questions for those who may have read it more thoroughly;

~Where are the monsters? Do we use standardized OGL d20 critters?
~How do Prestige Classes work?
~Is multiclassing the same as in 3.5?
~How hard would it be to create Kalashtar, Warforged, and Shifters in the Pathfinder system?
~Is there room for Psionics in Pathfinder?

Thanks so very much!
