I'd really love to hear Djimon Hounsou narrate Mike Resnick's KIRINYAGA. A couple of the stories from KIRINYAGA are currently available from Infinivox, but the narrator is no Djimon Hounsou.

Other than that, I'd love to hear audio editions of THE STARS MY DESTINATION and EARTH ABIDES, though I don't have any particular actors in mind for either. STARS would be harder to cast, what with Gully's gutterspeak and everything, and it would present some challenges in dramatizing the end of the book when things get a bit wonky.

Good luck getting a Varley short -- I think the whole field would celebrate if you were successful.

I think the only short fiction he's had published recently is "The Bellman," which appeared in Asimov's last year, and that wasn't even new -- it was rescued from the quagmire of THE LAST DANGEROUS VISIONS, which is apparently never going to be published yet still has the rights to a bunch of stories tied up. How Varley managed to extract "The Bellman" is unknown to me, but we should all be thankful that it's seen the light of print.

I'm a Kovacs fan, and a Richard Morgan fan. The two Kovacs books are both great, but wait until you read Market Forces. It's brilliant, easily the best book I've read this young century.

If you'd like to read more about Richard, you can read my interview with him over at Science Fiction Weekly: http://www.scifi.com/sfw/issue373/interview.html.

Also, if you want a similar author to look for, try Spin State by Chris Moriarty. I think if you like the Kovacs books you'd like this too.
