Jocassa first made contact with a follower of Hylax on her home planet of Castrovel. A Shirren Envoy began trade agreements with her father, a prominent councilman, and was feared by her people at first. Most insect races caused such fear in the Lashunta due to their war with the Formians, but Jocassa saw past this fear and saw the truth of the Shirrens words. Appreciating that the Shirren could speak telepathically, rather than verbally like many other races, Jocassa would often speak with them when she had a chance. The Shirren told her their name was T'ckist and spoke of the importance of harmony and diplomacy, and Jocassa saw the truth in it.
Years later when it was time for Jocassa to take position among her family, she chose the path of diplomat and missionary. For most of her people, they did not understand her adherence to Hylax, but they accepted it. Working with Xenoseekers and other adventures Jocassa has made a name for herself as a competent envoy for the Lashunta people, and has made contact with many settlements in the pact worlds.
The first settlement she was tasked with contacting was a group of Vesk that had staged a base not far from her City State of Laubu Mesa during the Formian conflict. Upon entering the encampment her contact in the Vesk settlement demanded a duel of first blood. Jocassa had not expected this. Panicking, she backed up from the violent Vesk's lung and tripped on a rock behind her.Through sheer incompetence she let go of her dagger, and flung it haphazardly at her assailant, scratching her face. She was welcomed at the base from that day forward and through these dealings she learned their language and earned their respect, though they were not as receptive to the teachings of Hylax as she would have hoped.
She has hopes to travel beyond the pact worlds and bring the teachings of Hylax and her Shirren mentor T'ckist to worlds outside the solar system.
