I am playing a Wizard in our current group's campaign. I have chosen an amulet to be my bonded object, and I have reached the point where I can start to enchant it. If possible, I would like to have it give an enhancement bonus to my character's Intelligence.

I am remembering that there were some restrictions on placing enhancement bonuses on items that were not slotted correctly (e.g. Physical attributes on belts, mental attributes on headbands) but this may just be an artifact in my mind from the PF Alpha. All that I can see in the section on crafting items is that it costs 1,000 gp x bonus^2.

I have scoured the SRD, the FAQ, and the boards to see if this question has come up, and I haven't seen anything. So, I thought I would just post this myself.

Anyone have any idea on this? Is it possible? Does it cost more? Have I just overlooked a section in the CRB?

Just wanted to ask the Paizo community regarding the use of arcane sight.

Situation:

A wizard has previously arcane sight cast on himself. During a encounter, an enemy casts a silence spell that includes the wizard in his area of effect.

Question:

In this situation, would you allow the wizard to know the extent of the area of the silence, and thus allow him to choose to take the shortest path outside the area of effect?

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

In both the original Campaign Setting, and the new Adventurer's Armory, mention is made of the Armored Kilt, and the rules are kind of muddled because of the 'wear alone' and 'wear with other armor' possibilities.

1) Because it can be worn as a separate suit of armor, it can be made as a masterwork armor and be enchanted. If, for example, a +1 armored kilt were added to a chain shirt, would it add +1 to the chain shirt's armor or +2 (+1 from the kilt, +1 from the enhancement)?

2) Would there be any benefit to making the kilt out of mithral (apart from it weighing half as much) when added to another suit of armor?

3) If a nonmagical armored kilt were to be made out of adamantine would it (as light adamantine armor) give +1 to AC and DR 1/adam if it were attached to a suit of armor?

It's entirely possible that I am overthinking this, and that the designer's didn't have these possibilities in mind when they developed the item.

Please cancel my subscription to Pathfinder Chronicles. Many of the products coming out are not appropriate for me to purchase, as I am a player in a group and not the GM. Any products that I would like to buy I will order piecemeal.

I would like to maintain my subscription to Pathfinder Companion, so don't remove that one.

Thanks.

I see that Casting Defensively is no longer an option under Spellcraft, but it is mentioned under Combat Casting. What is the deal with that?

You still have to make a Spellcraft check if you are hit/distracted while casting, but does that mean that you no longer provoke AOO's if you cast in combat?
