Does anyone know who we can contact to get this game thread closed out?

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

I guess it's safe to say this game is dead.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Has anyone purchased the ACG yet?

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Still no DM. This does not look promising.

Based on what Jik is saying it sounds like I really lucked out with the first pbp I joined. We had a few players drop and some join but its been going for a year and we're not far off 4000 gameplay posts.

@JD I hope you do find time for this. Please let us know :)

A long running game that actually has some posts in it is a rarity. To get the information I cited all you have to do is click on the "play-by-post" link at the top of the page. That will get to that section click on the "posts" column and the thread will organize from most posts down to the least.

I hope not. Sadly that's quite a common occurrence in my (limited) experience.

It happens a lot. DM'ing online is a ton of work. Most games end by the 500th post. Of the 4121 games roughly 1300 games hit that post count. Less than 700 hit the 1000 post mark. Time and commitment on everyone's part.

Hopefully it was just a long weekend.

Jik wakes towards the hostess and her mule. "If you have a cart that would nice for the gear we have."

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Me too...have we lost our DM already?

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

The wizard twirls his umbrella spinning it on his left shoulder. "So, are we all here when are we departing? Is your new apprentice coming along Thallan is she going to be your acolyte ?" His yes move to Capt Johnson. "So where did you do your time in the military? Which conflict or war were you part of."

The wizard chuckles, "I tend to set them on fire. I'm Jik, glad to meet you."

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Jik eyes the little girl a bit suspiciously, "I tend agree with Lupic...we need to know each other, trust each other, our lives will eventually be at stake." He looks at Yuki, "There is a lot of unknown in the universe, my comrades should not be one of them."

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

"Coffee...you are a wise man." the wizard chuckles, "I'm sure I can increase your hauling ability, like an ant that carry many time's it's body weight."

He smiles at Bellis, "So what is your," he places a finger over his lips thinking of the proper words, "trade or special skills?" He asks inquisitively. I don't recall you mentioning that you are an alchemist.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

"Ah a fellow scholar. I've found that I can never have enough scrolls or the knowledge contained therein."

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Jik pretty much uses his cash to scribe scrolls. he can give you 50 GP if you need it though.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

I have some gold left and ant haul is my spellbook, I'll create a couple scrolls of that.

"You look as strong as me..." he laughs. "Perhaps we can get some of the others to lug our gear."

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Jik makes his way into the town using his umbrella shield himself from the sun, he seems to be enjoying watching his shadow stretch and retract almost like it's a game to him. He will occasionally flip the umbrellas around so the sun comes down onto his body, and the shadow appears to merge into his body this brings about a hardy laugh. "Yes, yes...you can not have enough parchment, pens and ink in my trade." He looks at those that are with him, "Squeezing though a small area should not be concern, I can make a few of us smaller for comfort....it beats adding grease - which I can do too - or taking off heavy armor."

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

"Well I already have few days of trail rations but purchasing a few more would be wise. I have a few other 'trade items' to stock up on." He stands up. "Does anyone care to join me? He pulls out an umbrella from his backpack and opens it. When he does this his shadow elongates and appears to stretch.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Jik listens intently to the planning discussions. An organizer...good, as he considers this Johnson fellow. The other one is noticeably quiet as glances at Bellis.

To the hostess, "When do we set off? did I hear someone mention today"

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Jik watches as Dronma takes the figurine, "Well, because I can read magic auras and determine their properties. Did you not know this item was magic?"

sense motive: 1d20 ⇒ 15

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

He asks pointed questions, good, good. I think he may be...useful, if not more of an ally. The scarred man looks at the person known as Yuki-Tsune. We all have talents and skills but what do these folks have to offer, I wonder? His eyes look around the table.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

"Dronma this figure enchanted with illusory magic. Did you already know this fact?" He is interested in the reply. A spellcaster would certainly know this fact already.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

"This..." his gaze intensifies, "...is interesting. Strong illusionary magic with this figurine." He smiles, "You have my commitment for this excavation."

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

"I'm not finicky 'bout my cakes." He smiles.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

He perks up as if he suddenly remembered something important. "More tea...yes. Do you have any little cakes for the tea?"

You were in the discussion thread, I assumed you saw the game thread was open. I figured you were with family today.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

There is loud chuckle as the two discuss killing. "Age has nothing to do with killing."

Yuki are you 16 years old per your profile?

"Better them, than me. Remember that philosophy, it's simple and effective." He leans and spits on the ground forgetting his manners. "I don't senselessly seek to kill, but if the law requires it, I enforce it. Likewise, if I, or my comrades, are threatened I prefer action over inaction." His voice is matter-of-fact.

He pauses for a second, "Banditry is criminal, if left unchecked, they will only harm others...I have no desire to see others suffer if I had it within my ability to prevent that suffering."

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

"I have found myself in more than one cave in my life....they fascinate me me actually. Do you mind if I examine those trinkets? Is there magic involved?" If permitted to examine and manipulate the ideas he will cast detect magic and try to determine the properties.

Dectect magic + spellcraft (5 total rounds)
spellcraft: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

"Miss, this is fine tea. The subtle hints of wintervine, acidic soil, and hues of bat guano and applegrazed manure mixed in the soil is quite refreshing to my palate." He smacks his lips, "Yes...yes, I do taste a trace of whortleberry." He is genuinely pleased.

what would you expect from an earth domain character.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Captain your post reminds me of the Steve Martin movie, "Roxanne" where they discuss looking at his nose.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Jik is a well proportioned man, his devilish features are noticeable, he is by no-means attractive. He has a unibrow, large ears (one is missing the upper tip), two nubs protruding from his skull and very little blotchy black hair. Their is one angry jagged scar marking his left cheek while the back of his head show obvious burn marks. Apparently this man has suffered several injuries in his life.

Anyone sporting a 6 charisma has to have a unibrow.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Jik raises his unibrow and sniffles taking in his hostess's comments regarding aid. "Never been one down a good cup of tea. The least I could do is hear you out." He blinks.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

DM when are you opening the game thread? I'd like to dot it so this game shows up under my profile.

What's your posting expectations?

I have access to the website most of the time, and I'm online quite a bit, so posting is rarely an issue with me. I play in a couple slow paced games and I DM two fast paced games, so I can adapt to what ever your expectations are for the game. If I'm going to be offline I always communicate that to group. Feel free to DMPC me if you ever think it's necessary.

Assuming we don't (I don't) die in the first 2-3 days, I can craft one (not a "wand" per se, maybe a glove or something) at half-cost.

Thallan is a Cleric of Nethys, keenly interest in the ways of magic and magical phenomena. This is probably why he's interested and present.

Already has Craft Wonderous Item.

Hopefully the interest in magic helps him bond/make friends with the arcanist in the group and doesn't register as a threat.

On a helping one another perspective... I may need help carrying a small table and artisan tools. My valet died on the journey here, an unfortunate incident with berries... of the poisonous variety.

I wasn't sure how much down time we will have, I was considering craft WI.

M Tiefling 3, wizard (shadowcaster), I 9, P 3, F 3 R 4 W 3

Thanks for the invite. I didn't realize the discussion was up.

I have quite a bit of gold left so I'll pick up a few more scrolls to add to my spellbook.

Ready when the the thread opens.

Here is the completed profile with gear for Jik 'tu Kbar, tiefling wizard (shadowcaster), earth specialty, since this is going to be paritally underground I thought that would be appropriate. Wood is his opposition school. He has a bit of gold left, so I'll probably add to his scroll count and spellbook.
