Well done Delendir and thank you for coming back and writing that up. This was a great game while it lasted and I will miss you guys.

She knows someone needs to warn of our failure and work to make a second attempt against the giant. For story reasons she needs to survive somehow (her daughter is in a Return of the Runelords game now and is tied to this game),

Krysta would probably just sneak in underground and assassinate the bastard in his sleep one night before burrowing back out to safety and returning to Sandpoint to be a doting Aunt.

Well crap, I am very sorry Delendir. To be honest I thought I had posted already. That was around the time that things started going bonkers at work and they have only just started to even out again so my posting rate has started going up again.

For what it is worth, given where Jessica is, I doubt she could even see what happened to Delendir but she would be devestated to see him fall.

Thank you very much for trying to keep it moving along and finishing the fight. I greatly appreciate it and am very sad we never got to finish the campaign. It is perhaps the single longest running one I've ever been in so thank you to everyone who made it fun while it lasted.

Jessica recognized the spell that Momurian cast and suspected where he had placed it. She didn't know for sure though and called out, "He's walled part of the room off," as she moved away.

Back a short distance between the two clouds Jessica cast up a prayer for Shelyn to protect them all and apulse of divine energy burst from her. She could only hope that she reached her friends with it.

I cast prayer. It, I think, gets BBEG from there and everyone but Sunday (and Yavenee if she doesn't choose to move into the room).

Jessica moved forward through the fog cloud and found herself facing another, nasty looking, cloud. She didn't want to go in that so she instead started working her way around it.

Jessica finished her preparations and cast her spells, a few on herself and one on Sunday. With that she nodded her readiness and entered the room behind Delendir. The giant wast not at all what she expected, at least not in arrogance, but his arrogance was about right.

With Delendir opening fire Jessica cast one last prayer bringing a blessing that would add fervor to their cause.

Jessica was glad they had made it through all the fights to this point and felt nervousness wash through her. She had little magic left to her but they could do this. "Give me fifteen minutes and I can prepare the last of my prayers for the day. After that I will do what I can to ready us and then we need to do this. I will have little healing magic left to me though so we have to do this quickly."

I have heroism for someone, Sunday maybe? And am preparing blessing of fervor. Other than that I have divine favor, entropic shield, and lesser angelic aspect for me. That's all the buffing I can do.

I'm sorry to hear that Shadow but I do understand.

I would like to see this game through so I am fine with finding a replacement or simply waiting if necessary for Shadow to get to where he can continue it.

Once she was guided clear of the cauldron and got her breath and sight back Jessica pulled out the healing wand she'd used earlier and went to work on getting everyone healed up. She started with Delendir tapping him with it many times to get him back into fighting shape.

When the healing was done and they moved on Jessica looked on in horror at the headless giant ordering the attack. she wasn't even sure how that worked but knew that it obviously had. She chanted, gestured, and sent a spear of pure divine light flying at the headless ogre in hopes it would disrupt it's command of the others and gripping her glaive for combat.

With the fight over Jessica started coughing from the noxious gas coming from the cauldron. She started gagging and her eyes started to burn as she croaked out, "I can't see, help me get away from the fumes."

Jessia saw how badly Delendir was being beaten with a look of horror and knew she needed to do something to help him. She was unsure just how far the thing could reach and knew she needed to take precautions or she might never make it. Jessica swallowed and cast a prayer that Shelyn's grace heal Delendir and moved in to touch him on the shoulder with a brilliant golden glow encasing her hand.

I cast cure critical sacrificing Wall of Stone and then I move up and touch Delendir. If I will provoke to move into range of him I will cast grace before the cure critical and then move in.

Jessica may not be able to do much against golems but there was something she could do. She moved up to get everyone within range, raised her holy symbol, and called out, "Shelyn, I ask your blesing for my friends as they fight the monster before us to protect the people from the giant's plot!" With that a pulse of divine power went out, washing over her and her friends.

I use Blessing of the Faithful: +2 sacred bonus on attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, or saving throws or to AC for 4 rounds. I am out of channeling for the day now.

With the giant finally dead Jessica quickly began the process of getting everyone healed up again. She saw Sunday fall and cried out, "Sunday no!" She rushed over to him and saw he still lived as Yavenee healed him some. Jessica breathed a sigh of relief at seeing the barbarian alive and impulsively hugged him before she sent out a pulse of positive energy before she began using spells and wand to heal her friends.

With everyone back on their feet and ready Jessica sighed and said, "That was...unpleasant and I am glad it is over." She looked in the direction they had yet to go and then said, "Shall we?"

When they entered the next room Jessica felt revolted by the bones and scraped off meet. It was disgusting to say the least. Far more worrisome was the stone golem that looked at them with hostile intent. "I don't think I can help much against that thing," she said worriedly.

Jessica managed to finally push through the nausea and looked back at the fighting only to see Sunday in such bad shape. Unfortunately she knew there was little she could do about it as far away as she was. That in mind Jessica moved in close enough to get Sunday and the as many of her injured allies as she could in range, selected out the giant, and pulsed positive energy to heal them.

Jessica suddenly felt vertigo as the room seemed to change sizes, or was she changing sizes? It was really hard to tell but she felt nauseous regardless. She moaned in distress at the feeling of being sick and managed to barely get out, "Oh Shelyn! This is worse than the morning sickness ever was." She used her glaive to help her stay standing and tried to find someplace she could hide.

With everyone past the troll Jessica took her weapons back and blushed at Delendir's compliment. "Thanks Delendir, I try." With that she kept her glaive in hand and began to follow as she she said, "That spell will hold for around nine days so we shouldn't have any problem going back past him if we make sure to take some books with us."

Yep, and amusingly Jess really doesn't have that great a charisma, above average yes, but not truly high. What she does have is the charm domain which makes her supernaturally gorgeous.

Truthfully appearance shouldn't be tied to any one stat but should be some kind of combination of at least the physical and charisma, if not all stats. Much like the old comeliness score I've heard about. I mean, look at Hitler, calling him homely is probably generous, but he had a god awfully high charisma.

Jessica felt a wash of relief when he spell took hold and worked and Jessica breathed a slight sigh of relief. "Thank you Mr Troll. I have other slaves with me to help carry the books we need, I promise we won't be long and I will make sure Master Mokmurian knows how helpful you were in getting him the books quickly." With that assuming the troll does not object Jessica waved her friends through and into the library.

Jessica realized she should have cast her spell before this but decided it was still worth a try. They hadn't quite started fighting yet and she hoped this would work. Jessica prayed and blew a kiss at the troll as she cast her spell and said, "Please Mr Troll, Mokmurian sent me here to get several books for him and if I don't I'm afraid of what he'll do to us if I fail him." She gave him a fearful teary eyed look as she hoped the spell would work as she intended.

Jessica slipped past sleeping giants and followed as Delendir led the way. When they found the troll on guard and Delendir told her to go try and speak with it she gave Delendir a startled look and said softly, "Um, you know I'm not that good with diplomacy right..." Still, she knew that she could do something, she had a spell that might work after all.

Jessica unsung her glaive and handed it to Delendir along with her crossbow and said, "Alright, let me try." Jessica tugged at her garments, adjusting the fit so it showed bit more of her cleavage. She wasn't trying to seduce the troll but looking as alluring as possible was a necessity to make her look nonthreatening.

Her preparations complete Jessica stepped around the corner and began to walk towards the troll with her most alluring strut. When the troll had finally spotted her Jessica said, "Hi, I'm afraid I'm a little lost here. I don't even know how I got down here." She smiled charmingly, "I don't supposed you'd be able to help me out would you?"

Jessica realized that she was spotted by the kobold as soon as she landed and she stayed where she was because she didn't want to provoke it. Fortunately Delendir interposed himself and left Jessica the ability to hop down and shift back to her normal form. She stepped up behind Delendir and looked around him as she tried to recall what she knew of kobolds, which wasn't much.

Jessica was not that stealthy and she knew it. In fact her very nature made her stand out so she didn't feel confident in her ability to sneak. She slung her glaive across her back and touched the ring she wore on her left index finger, rubbing her thumb over the seven colorful gemstones. All of a sudden her body pulled in on itself, shrinking down, her gear melting into her body, and within seconds there was a white songbird with seven long tail feathers each one the color of one of the gemstones from the ring. Yes, she stood out still, but she may get away with flying high among the stalactites in the top of the cavern and stay out of sight that way. With that she took off and flew as she followed the others already across.

Jessica let the others discuss things with the giantess but she found herself sympathetic with the woman's situation. She suspected they could trust her at her word and only hoped they could comply with her request to not kill any more of her people.

With that they were on their way once more when they stumbled on the unexpected quartet of giants ahead. It was fortunate that they were not yet spotted and she considered what they could do to get past them. She had an idea but wasn't sure how well it would work so she said softly, "Maybe I can block them behind a wall of stone? I don't think it will hold them for long but it might be enough that we can get past them."

Are all of the giants sitting in the same area or are they spread out? Are they in the middle of the room or do they have other barriers that might impede their movements?

Jessica was relieved that the bears had been dealt with. The things were vicious but they had won through with no one too gravely injured. She wiped the blood from her glaive on the bear's pelt and then sent a burst of positive energy out to heal her friends with.

As they began to explore and found the cave with the giantess in it Jessica was immediately on guard with her glaive ready to strike if need be. Fortunately it turned out that the giant wanted to speak to them. "I believe that it is worth our time to hear her out. We know this might be a trap but she isn't attacking us right now and is approaching us peacefully."

With a bear still between her and Sunday Jessica took a pair of strikes at it with her gliave.

Jessica was quite pleased that her spell worked out and even more so with how her friends used it to cause a distraction. As they moved ahead Jessica kept a careful watch out as she slipped through to the pit and down into the caves. What they found turned Jessica's stomach, the stench was foul, the worst thing she'd ever smelled, and even worse...were the three big bears that attacked them! Jessica was glad she was keeping her glaive ready as they traversed this place as it meant she could react quickly.

Jessica began to move, looping slightly around to flank the bears withDelendir and Sunday on it's opposite side, just staying out of reach of it's claws, and stabbed out with her glaive as she said, "Nope, it won't work if they are already attacking us!"

Jessica watched for Delendir's sign and quickly made her way over tot he stables when he signalled. She waited for Delendir to enter and followed behind him only to see the biggest animals she had ever seen outside of that terrible red dragon that had attacked Sandpoint. She also noticed they were agitated as Delendir tried to calm them down. Reacting quickly Jessica gestured the others to plug their ears and quickly put her hands of Delendir's for him as she began to sing. It was a quiet lullaby, just loud enough for the mamoths to hear over their own agitation, and laced heavily with Shelyn's grace. She could only hope this would help and that Delendir would understand what she was doing.

I cast Enthrall by singing a lullaby to the mammoths. They need to roll a WilFail of DC 19 or be captivated by the music. Since I am not sure I can leave out people I hope everyone gets the idea from her actions not to listen to her.

With what I've put out there now everyone but Vivi and myself are healed full (I think) and both of us are only down a few so it seems a waste to spend more healing on it just now.

With the fighting over and Delendir and Vivi working on the scroll, Jessica went about tending to the injuries of her friends. She sent out a pulse of positive energy when they were all close enough together.

That seemed to be enough and she turned her focus back to what Delendir said about continuing on. She nodded in agreement and said, "Yes, I think we should push on if everyone is able to. We can fall back to this place to rest when we feel the need."

That should heal up everyone but Vivi who will still be down 3 or so points.

I'll get a post up this evening and burn through what healing we can do. We can see where we are at then but I see no reason why we won't be able to continue on for a while.

And yeah, the day ended a little better but it was impossible to recover completely.

The plan seems good Delendir.

So how bad off is everyone?

Amusingly one of the guys in my home gaming group has my birthday as does one of my old High School teachers aand the oldest daughter of a close friend of mine. Rather freaky to tell you the truth.

It's my birthday, I'm still depressingly single, my prime rib was over cooked on the outside, my cheese cake didn't come out right, I had to work, and my parents just had to put our dog down a short while ago. It could be worse but it could be a whole hell of a lot better too.

Doesn't change my actions any.

That's OK, Jessica is in really bad shape anyway from the hits she took and needs to get out of that spot anyway,

Jessica called out a rapid prayer for Shelyn to give her grace and then moved around the mummy to put Hunday between her and it. She then cast up another prayer, more involved than the last, and reached out to touch Sunday with divine light.
Swift action to cast grace so I don't provoke, move action, then standard to cast cure critical and touch Sunday.

Jessica was nimble enough on her feet that the ice was little hinderance for and so rather than casting a spell again she decided to put the reach of her glaive to use. She moved so that Delendir was opposite from her and lashed out with her glaive. As she did the weapon began to glow with a brilliant white light as it homed in on the abomination.

With the swarm of wasps dealt with Jessica moved up a little to get everyone in the area and then sent out a burst of positive energy to heal them of some of their wounds.

Jessica was pleased that her spell struck the thing, whatever it was, but she gave a little shriek of disgust when the swarm came after her. She felt herself getting stung repeatedly as she heard Yavenee call out and began to retreat.

She could feel the poison in their stingers entering her body but she felt Shelyn's divine influence once again prevent the stuff from taking hold. When she felt like she was clear, but still too close to the swarm for comfort, Jessica stopped her movement and cast a spell sending a lance of pure divine power flying aacross the way at the thing she assumed was some type of undead.

Jessica didn't know what the cursed thing was but her best guess was an undead of some sort. It didn't matter much as she had few offensive spells available to her. Given that her friends were occupied with the swarm Jessica held up her holy symbol and sent a lance of divine light out at the thing.

Off all the times not to have a handy flamestrike prepared. Yeah it'd hurt us too but it would murder the swarm and make it worth it.

The first thing Jessica felt on entering the tower was an intense cold. She was most certainly not dressed for such a thing and the chills distracted her when Delendir mentioned the flying thing speaking. She looked up at it and her eyes widened in fear, she didn't know what this thing was and the cold must have been dulling her sense because she couldn't hear it. "I don't knoAHHH," Jessica cried out at the sudden appearance of the swarm of stinging insects. She was woefully unprepared to deal with swarms like this.

She felt the poison begin to enter her system from the onslaught of bugs but a little divine power circulated through her and neutralized the poison before it could take effect and she moved away from them as best she could on the slippery ice.

My standard is dependent on what I know of the thing flying up there. Doubt I know much but if I get anything I'm looking for weaknesses.

With their travel decision made Jessica joined the circle and gave Yavenee a trusting smile. She knew they would end up where they wanted, she had faith in Yavenee's skill, and when they were teleported she felt the usual sense of dislocation and saw that they had arrived exactly where they had intended to. Jessica gave Yavenee a quick hug and said, "I know you could do it." She looked around then and asked, "So what next," as she readied her glaive for the fights she knew were to come.

Jessica enjoyed the trip to Ravenmoor as much as she could under the circumstances and was relieved they had a chance to rest before pushing onward. As they continued their travels and began to learn about all of the missing people on their way to the giant's headquarters, the tragedies were numerous, and the few attacks they suffered challenging but not enough to stop their advance. Jessica did what she could to keep the others alive and well and so they finally reached their destination in relatively good shape.

As they began to discuss how to proceed Jessica couldn't help but think posing as traders was a bad idea, and a frontal assault maybe more so, fortunately the idea to fly was quite doable. "I too have a way to fly now," she gestured at a beautiful golden ring with seven different colored gems adorning it, "It is a ring crafted by the temples of Shelyn that provides both protection and the ability to turn into a songbird seven times a day. It doesn't last for too long and each use causes a gem to dull in color until the next morning, but it can be very useful."

I'm assuming you relay all of what you saw Yavenee, if not please disregard the following.
When Yavenee returned from her scouting mission Jessica considered it all carefully. After a moment or two of thought she said, "The two things that most bother me are the pit and the tower with the nest. Could you see what was in the pit or nesting in the tower? Did it look like the bones around the tower had maybe been meals for whatever lives in it? If so that could be a serious threat to us."
