I was trying to avoid having to kill them wholesale by dominating their leader. It could easily be more powerful than one of us.
Are you set on this path? I would prefer to use them versus destroy them.

Lil, you missed our conversation. The Orcs are in our way. They block our ability to come and go as we need to save Korvosa. I would prefer to enslave their leader and have them help us.
If not we should destroy them. They are evil. If not here they would be raping and pillaging they way through some village.
You can sit this out if it isn't something you can do.

I am not worried about Orcs I believe we can handle them easily. I do want to know who or what is leading them. If it is a Devil or another wizard we will have to be more careful.

We will need to eliminate them though. We will want to be able to come and go from Scarwall as we choose for the next few days. If it is as big as it seems it will likely take us several forays to search and find our objective. Let's see what Lil finds out.

Lil, I don't know the others either, they would be doing the same test.
And we don't normally consort with Devils...we normally destroy them. Everything on is the table to save Korvosa from the queen.

I would think you would have a good idea of who we are and what you might be up against. Maybe we can say you came to us from agents we can trust from Korvosa?

To the newcomers,
So you wish to join us in our quest to rid Korvosa of it's "Queen". he say matter of fact and laden with sarcasm on the mention of "Queen".

I must admit I am surprised you wish to join us, we are unlikely to survive to see Korvosa free. If you are sincere in your love for Korvosa and your wish to help us...you must understand that the Red Mantis have been hounding us on behalf of the Queen for some time...we must know that your motives are true and we can trust you.

I hesitate to ask this of each of you but we must know for sure. Would you be willing to submit to a fairly simple test of your motives?

Assuming you want to know the nature of the test...I can enter your mind for a brief while and compel you to tell me who you are and what are your reasons for joining us. As long as you are willing to let me do this we can be certain that you can be trusted. This is paramount to moving forward...I will only ask you several simple questions and then release you immediately one at a time in front of the others. Jerin describes to you the effect of a dominate spell...

Out of character I don't feel like we need to RP this but to be honest with a group of assasins hunting us for the last year we would have to be sure and even zone of truth can be manipulated.
I know some characters would generally not be happy about this so that is why we don't have to RP it. Mainly just set the stage so we can all trust one-another.
I am curious to see what you all would say though? Aron if you want to waive this and just say we were able to do some type of background check I can live with that as well. This just seems more fun :]

So what do you think? He has his own agenda but it wouldn't hurt to have another person capable of dealing with undead for the short term. I don't trust him but he appears to want to at least help us in the short term.

Good! Crazy week selling my house and moving about a week ago and then going out of town on vacation through last Saturday. We are just back and getting settled into our new home. Things are finally starting to settle down to where I think I can start picking gaming stuff up again.

What do you guys think of a wand of death ward? Going into a haunted castle there is likely to be a lot of negative energy effects.

By horse since we haven't been there before or in the area. Jerin was buying a covered wagon and teleporting back with it so he could craft along the way.

Aron, can we gte a list of the treasure we recovered fromt eh Mantis battle? Jerin can teleport to Magnimar and pick up a few things we may need since we have teleported there before.

We are also going to teleport back with a wagon. Jerin plans to ride in it and craft on the way to this castle or ruin we are heading to.

-2 to save then +5 for actively threatening him, must make a DC 25 save.

If that works then Jerin will try to manipulate him into finding out who else is tracking them, where they are, and if we can expect any other attacks soon from this other group.

Jerin moves to Q, 37 while 20ft up in the air. He then casts a persistent Hideous Laughter on the crossbowmen DC 22 save twice or drop on the ground laughing for the remainder of his life .

Isn't your Crossbow covered with butter? It happens to be the funniest thing he has ever heard...

He then uses his Rod of Quicken to Cast Mirror Image.
1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 and suddenly there are 6 Drens flying around the air.

Characters in heavy armor only get a +20 bonus to their movement. This is the key statement "All of the hasted creature's modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject's normal speed using that form of movement.".
His normal movement is 20' so 40' with Haste. There was a clarification on the boards on this movement.

With Krenn saying he was running his movement should be 40' triped is 120' so hopefully we can see or be at the middle of things at the end of round 2?

Jerin flies 15' up in the air and 70' feet towards the sound of the noise to see if he can get a better look.

Don't forget everyone has 3 more rounds of Haste after this round so Krenn is moving quite quickly.

ok, do you mind if I retcon my action? Seeing the Mantis I would adjust my actions. If so...

Jerin draws out his wand of lesser quicken. He then casts a quickened fly followed by drawing out a scroll of haste.

I am going to the air and will take the fight to our enemies as needed. I will haste the group before I take to the air though so stay close for a moment.

Jerin's eyes flare and the Gargoyles seem almost confused a little as his power takes them.
