About Jen the Housecat

Appearance: Jen seems to be a common house cat in basically every way, down to the unassuming collar, but despite having no visible owner, her tan/beige tinted fur was always in immaculate condition, a side effect from having an unseen servant bound to her magical collar to groom her constantly and clean her litter box, which is hidden up in the rafters of the inn. Despite her pudginess, she can easily flit unseen from place to place, whether through his highly developed feline stealth or her magical powers.

Her appearance is usually enough to disarm any would-be attacker, but if necessary, Jen can kill with brutal efficiency. She possesses many spells that, if cast with metamagic, cannot be easily traced back to her. If her cover is blown and an all out fight begins, she does not hesitate to nova her spells, pull out her whip, and flog the offending humanoid back into line, using the aptly named cat o' nine tails.

That said, she doesn't particularly enjoy killing humanoids. No, instead she uses her handle humanoid skill to get them to do chores for her, like pet her, groom her, and bring her food. Of course, like all cats, she has a taste for milk, catnip, and balls of yarn, although her intelligence has also given her a taste for over-the-top displays of worship to the mighty cat.

A tiny, yet powerful weapon that utilizes the wielder's skill and finesse more than the wielder's strength. It was a reward by the feline pantheon for Jen's ascension to one of the fiercest felines from the most docile race of cats, the housecat. It is also very small, enabling it to be easily hidden within the thick fur of any cat.

Backstory:

She had dim memories of her life before the event. As far back as her memory would take her, Jen was just an ordinary house cat. Her owner was just some grunt working at the World Serpent Inn, and they didn't particularly pay attention to each other. After his untimely death in a teleportation accident, Jen was left to fend for herself as a stray, catching mice scampering around in the nooks and crannies of the inn.

She stayed this way contently, for house cats have limited intelligence and little desire to stray outside. Several years passed and she crossed paths with a passing fey, traveling through the inn at the time. With the natural whimsy that fey have, the fey granted Jen a few of the powers of the fey, including intelligence and whimsy. Now an intelligent and easily bored creature, Jen followed many passing adventurers into their portals and explored many worlds, experiencing many new things and becoming learned in the ways of the world. She was seen by the feline gods as remarkably advanced for a lowly race of cat and was granted the power of sorcery, one that was developed throughout her lifetime.

Naturally, the adventurers that she followed were all killed at the hands of CR-Inappropriate encounters or by old age, and this is where we reach this part of the story. Jen the House Cat remains perched, listening and watching, waiting for another interesting adventurer to pass by and strike her fancy.
