(It's 6AM. Why not? First post ever and it's a half-baked character I haven't found a proper voice for yet. Woo. Took some liberty with the last question as he doesn't have a Wayfinder yet but he will.)
1. Why are you a Pathfinder?
For finding the path. Still feet, stagnant mind. The road is the great teacher. You are reflected in people you meet, and they are reflected in you.
2. Do you have a name and surname that is not ripped straight out of existing Earth mythology or popular culture?
Named as I am. Fleck.
3. Which nation did you grow up in? How did this nation influence you?
Chelish. I was a predator. I know fear. I know ambition. I know the sound a man makes when stabbed in the back. I buried those skills. I cast off that past. This new work opens old vaults I thought - prayed - were lost forever.
4. What do you look like? What are your wearing? How does this vary when you’re stalking through forests, sewers, deserts or in glittering cities?
The same as most crows you'll meet where crows are found. I've never afforded dyes or decorations. The vestments of a monk do not call for either. I am grateful. That does not mean I am impractical.
5. What do you love?
The Everlight, who welcomes all seeking a new path. The open road, which welcomes all who have found one. Smiles. The kindness of strangers.
6. What do you hate?
House Thrune, and the blindness of those who refuse to see the light.
The two often intersect.
7. Which other Pathfinders (PCs) do you rely on for teamwork, survival and butt-kicking? Do you have a bro? a mentor? a father figure? maybe a rival?
I am grateful for all who allow me walk the open road by their side. Sadly, the road has yet to bring me more than passing acquaintance.
8. How does your race influence your views? Are you a stereotype of a certain race? How are you different from most tengu?
Some tengu show surprise when I offer praise to Sarenrae or Irori and not the old gods. Our gods. But all understand the need to take to the road and cast off the contempt of the Other. To conquer the world by first conquering the self.
Of course, I will not deny enjoying the recognition the glyph of the open road brings, or basking in the gratitude brought by those three simple words: "I can help."
9. What are you afraid of? Do you have any phobias or worries?
I fear myself, as any sane man would. I fear the darkness in others. I worry that resorting to the skills of my past life will be the start of a fall I will not see until it is too late to stop.
10. What is your most treasured possession?
The Wayfinder. It is the most beautiful thing I have ever owned.
