It may not matter for those of you on an "in game" practice, but, I can tell you from 'real' world fighting experience that polearm and buckler works amazing. It has protected against head, spear, and archer shots more times than I can count. Not to mention, just having that one block against a side sword shot. I felt it really gave +1 ac. -against 1 attack. Bow.. idk yet. Struggling to make it work well. Xbow is ok though. Just saying...
