In a RotRL game I am running, a couple of my players make a lot of stupid decisions in times of stealth or battle in general. It makes them die frequently enough for them to complain about dying and blame it on gold in particular. Right now I have a rule that if you die you keep all the wealth you had previously on your character, not more and not less, as to not die and come back more powerful than everyone else in the party because I think it promotes suicide.

Thoughts on just giving out wealth per level for people who die and instantly get more money than players who have not died once the entire campaign? Their attitudes have shifted to not caring about their character at all (they said so) "because they will most likely die", they want their instant gratification gold or have this poor attitude. What should I do as a DM?

I'm starting a RoTRL group. I want them to have a drawback for their characters based on the 7 deadly sins for reasons in the book. There are already a couple such as envy, avarice (greed), and pride.

Can any of you help think of some for the rest of the flaws? :)

Thank you in advance!

My question is does this reveal invisible creatures? It's very vague.
If so, I think its incredibly broken. Especially since it can become a familiar.

Spell Sight (Su)
A zoog’s eyes radiate normal light in a 15-foot cone and increase the light level by one step for an additional 15 feet beyond that area. Any magic effect in this area glows faintly. This glow does not reveal the magic effect’s school or strength. A zoog can quell or renew this light as a swift action.

MY Pc's will be entering spurhorn soon. I have read over spurhorn and the sheer amount of rooms to set up seems a little daunting of a task. Do they go to all 48 rooms of this place? Do I have to set up every single one including the top towers or how did you handle it?

So, I have been gaming with a player for about a year and ahalf now. He used to be my DM and even in the game he ran he hardly prepared etc. Once that game was done, I made my own and have been running it about 4 months. Needless to say, he has a hard time paying attention. Always asks whats going on, plays other games or reads while in the session and so on. I have talked to him about it and he seemingly continues to do it. Example : character of his died, and I offered to help him make a new one. It has been a week and he has done nothing with it, and the game is today. He is too busy playing video games to make one.

So i'm pretty fed up with it, he is nice and I don't really want to kick him but he is very unreliable and im not sure what to do. Any advice?

What dragons hate each other the most? I.E what are the opposites?

I'm building a Goliath druid with the rage domain, and I am running into Rage round problems considering that I count for half barbarian in terms of levels. Are there Feats or traits to bump my Barbarian level to equal my druid level or close to it?

There are feats like Extra rage, and Recovered Rage as well but am looking for more options.

So, giant form I says : When you cast this spell you can assume the form of any Large HUMANOID creature of the giant subtype (those are: frost giant, fire giant, cyclops, ettin, hill giant, ogre, stone giant, or troll).

It states you can only turn into humanoids with the giant subtype.

Giant form II says : This spell functions as giant form I except that it also allows you to assume the form of ANY Huge creature of the giant subtype (cloud giant and storm giant are the only core Huge creatures with giant subtype). You gain the following abilities:

It states it acts as giant form I , but also says you can assume the form of ANY huge creature with the giant subtype.

Can you or can you not turn into an ONI, which is an Outsider with the giant subtype with giant form II?

So, i'm in a game and apparently the DM found it worthy to say onyx gems are a hard commodity to come by.

Is there a way to create onyx gems via spell besides blood money for example? (Was bannned) Or magic items that makes it not require the gem in the first place..example being Blackmarrow Altar?

Thanks in advance.

So, I play a level 4 Wizard in the game I am in and use grease pretty often which helps with boss fights greatly.

Recently the DM is now using Locked Gauntlet on every boss, is there a way to get around this?

Hello, I play a conjuration wizard that summons monsters and have come across banishment. Does Summon monsters with dimensional anchor protect it vs banishment? If not, is there a way to protect it vs. it?

So if a fire elemental hits a ghost / incoporeal creature, can it catch on fire via burn?

Can you use rapid shot, haste, etc to give you more attacks to your normal d6+ die Kinetic blast? Or does it only give more attacks to the 1d8 kinetic blast? Or only if you use Flurry of Devastation?

Currently have a player in a group of mine who is level 7 with electricity doing d20+12 4d6+14 to 8d6+18 against touch AC 3 to 4 times in one round doing about 80 points+ of damage. Something felt off, so I decided to ask the experts.

So, I just got into a game that's running the Mummy's Mask AP. The current party is level 5 so I missed the introduction of characters. I've read the players guide and all but I still seem to have some writers block on how my character will be where the group is and why he is there.

I decided to take the Mummy-Cursed trait that reads

One of your ancestors ran afoul of a mummy’s curse while exploring an ancient tomb. This curse was passed down to later generations of your family, but over time, your line has become more resistant to curses. You’ve come to explore its untouched necropolis, and while you hope you won’t have to face a real undead mummy, at least you have some defense if you do.

I decided to make a Arcanist because the team needed a Arcane spellcaster,
he is Elf and really old. I was thinking on the lines of he wants to find a way to end the curse of his lineage for his children and grandchildren before he dies or grows too old to do anything about it.Maybe traveling from Sothis to Wati to either end the curse of find answers about it?

Thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

as the title says, does cold weather outfit give you bonuses to fortitude saves vs cold spells?

So, I am an unchained rogue and I went with the scout archetype. At level 4 there is a ability called "Scout's Charge". It reads as follows..

Scout’s Charge (Ex)

At 4th level, whenever a scout makes a charge, her attack deals sneak attack damage as if the target were flat-footed. Foes with uncanny dodge are immune to this ability.

This ability replaces uncanny dodge.

Does this mean the target is actually Flat-Footed? Or does it mean I just get the sneak attack damage?

Thanks.

Does this spell work in snowy areas? Like the plants coming from beneath the snow?

So Im thinking about making a Shaman for an upcoming game im going to play in.

Wanted to play a blaster / controller style, most likely Heavens to start off as until the wandering spirit.

Does anyone have any past experiences and or advice on the class?

So it says this for sacred armor :

These bonuses stack with any existing bonuses the armor might have, to a maximum of +5.

Does that mean, if I currently have a +5 bonus on my armor and use Sacred armor it's useless? Or does that mean I get Both?

The "Stacking" and "Maximum" wording is throwing me off.

Hey all, so I have a Warpriest whos job is to hit things hard and so far I have as follows (In alphabetical order). And I just leveled so I took devastating strike, and need another feat recommended please :).

Oh, and I am level 12.

Critical focus
devastating strike
furious focus
greater weapon focus
Greater weapon of the chosen
Improved critical
improved vital strike
improved weapon of the chosen
power attack
staggering blow
vital strike
weapon focus
weapon of the chosen

I know that you can't grapple as an AoO unless you have grab or something because normally its a standard action. But what about trip, sunder, and disarm since all it says is in place of a melee attack in the description?

So a player in a game that I am also in took 1 swift action and 2 immediate actions in one turn for saving throws...etc, and I called him on it. He then said "You are purposefully trying to kill my character." and got angry at me for "rule lawyering him to kill him."

Note that I do the same thing to myself, having to look something up after my turn was done and wasn't sure, even if it was not beneficial to myself and speaking up about it. Including anyone else that isn't aware or playing the game correctly.

Should I just shut up and let people do whatever and let them bend the rules to their favor?

As the title says. Touch an ally spells, can you touch yourself?

Does being inside the actual line of Blade Barrier provide the AC bonus? Also when you walk outside of said line do you take the damage from the barrier since parts of your body are moving through it to get out?

When you swift action cast as say, a Warpriest, and get entangled do you have to make a concentration check for all your swift action casts?

Entangled : An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) or lose the spell.

So it says in the description of blink that - Your own spells have a 20% chance to activate just as you go ethereal, in which case they typically do not affect the Material Plane (but they might affect targets on the Ethereal Plane).

What if you the target is personal / you? Do you have to roll for the miss chance of casting your own spell?

Or do you go ethereal when the spell goes off as well?

As the title says, does blink 50% non-typed miss chance + 20% (concealment) miss chance, stack?

So I have a solar oracle and he now has sirocco and I can't seem to find when creatures inside of it take damage, is it every round or only on the casters turn? Thanks in advance.

Hello! I'm making an Android Warpriest for Iron Gods, and I have never played a Warpriest before.

For what I want to do with him is make him a fighter type with all the extra feats he gets, crit build with a falchion...so the usual power attack, weapon specialization, critical focus etc.

But also feats that can also be useful in a pinch like using divine interference for rerolls for my friends and fey foundling for my self heals etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions on feats?

I have read conflicting arguments on how Oracles and meta-magic is handled.
On one side, they are divine spell casters, and on the other side they are spontaneous. I have heard both ways, one being that it takes a full action to use there spells with meta-magic, the other being that it does not. Can some kind individual enlighten me please? :)

I have a pet that has the improved spell sharing feat.

Benefit: When you are adjacent to or sharing a square with your companion creature and that companion creature has this feat, you can cast a spell on yourself and divide the duration evenly between yourself and the companion creature. You can use this feat only on spells with a duration of at least 2 rounds. For example, you could cast bull's strength on yourself, and instead of the spell lasting 1 minute per level on yourself, it lasts 5 rounds per level on yourself and 5 rounds per level on your companion.

If I have a Wand of invisibility and cast it on myself, does it give my animal companion invisibility as well?

So I have a tiger that has 1xbite 2xclaw and 2xrake when grappling or pouncing

My DM told me that basically rake and claw were one and the same and as a full round action I can only have 1 bite and 2 claws ( or rakes while grappled) for a total of 3 attacks at ALL times instead of 5, essentially cutting my dps almost in half.

Is my DM accurate or am I getting shafted?

Hello all, I have a question regarding Aasimar and their racial feat Angel Wings. Is it affected by haste or anti magic zones?
