So I've been running a Pathfinder/3.5 game since last October. Typically my table is anywhere from 5-7 players and up until this point I've been converting published adventures to accommodate their number. But now I've found my free time greatly reduced and the game prep time isn't what it used to be. So now I'm focusing on published adventures that will require little to no prep time, yet are still going to provide a challenge. So I was wondering if this is a sound way to approach the game -

Seven 5th level characters = four 7th level characters

Essentially, choose adventures that are two levels higher and run as is?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I saw a thread earlier about what mini's to use for various Cauldron chapters. Starting Demonskar tonight and thought I would pass along what I am using for various encounters. My group uses miniatures only. I scan in the maps from the magazine and blow them up to scale for miniature use. So mini's are extremely important in my game. If there are no mini's available, I switch it out with something I have. I'll add to this list as I go along if it helps anyone.

Chapter one:
—Chaos in the streets (Only using miniatures for the key players)
• Maavu Arlintal: using a generic wizard, nothing too fancy
• Sgt. Skylar Krewis: Human Crossbowman (Dragoneye set)

—Fire in the Night
• Large Fire Elementals: Reaper #2779: Fire Elemental
• Pilok Minuta: Reaper barkeep 2583: Townsfolk I
• 1/2 orcs & Rokewko: Reaper 14043: Lurg, Half Orc, 2514: Kang, Half Orc, 2669: Oberon Kane Half-orc & 2708: Janara, Fem Half Orc
D&D mini's: Rask, Half-Orc Chainfighter (22/60 R Deathknell), Krusk (26/80 U Harbringer), Half Orc Fighter (43/80 C Harbringer), Half-Orc Barbarian (26/60 U Archfiiends)
Chainmail miniatures: 1/2 orc fighter, 1/2 orc assasin (good luck finding them)
• Asfelkir Hranleurth: Cleric of Kord (13/60 U Archfiends)
• Kristof Jurgensen: Switched him to a cleric of St. Cuthbert— Cleric of St. Cuthbert
(04/60 U Abberations)

Chapter two:
• Jenya & Tygot— no miniature used (in Jenya's case and others like her I use the faces of Cauldron picture, in the case of Tygot, the picture from the magazine)
• Chisel members— same deal, no mini's. if someone is not needed for a fight, most likely I do not worry about a mini.
• Gnoll Hunters: Chainmail made a gnoll ranger. I've got 4 at my disposal.
Gnoll Archer (52/60 C Archfiends)
• Gnolls: Reaper 2467: Gnoll Marauders / D&D mini's Gnoll (51/60 C Aberrations)
and of course Chainmail released a few different gnoll warriors
• Forest Sloth: Nope, got nothing so I swapped it for another CR11
Fomorian (69/72 UGiants of Legend)
HUNTING TRAIL ENCOUNTERS:
• Gnolls (see above)
• Dire Boars: I'm using the dire boars released for Chainmail but there are others
Reaper 2527: Dire Boar / D&D minis: Dire Boar (34/80 R Harbringer)
• Dire Tiger: Swapped for Dire Bear D&D mini: Dire Bear (26/60 U Deathknell)
Reaper 2878: Dire Bear
• pair of Megaraptors: Swapped for 4 Velociraptors from Ironwind Metals
• 3 Bar-Igura demons: I don't even own the Book of Vile Darkness sooooo swap it for D&D mini's Blue Slaad (41/72 R Giants of Legend)
• Baboons & Werebaboons: Swap 'em! D&D mini's— 4 Forest Trolls (55/60 U Deathknell)
• Allosaur/Ankylosaur: swap time! and yes I'm aware of the CR rating being higher (it's only 1 point higher CR)! D&D mini's Fiendish Tyrannosaurus (68/72 U Giants of Legend)

That's as far as I've gotten ... I'll take any sort of input on my choices and would dig suggestions too.
