Jampo frowns slightly. But nods in acknowledgment of the other's arguments. "You bring up good points. I dislike allowing the passengers to join us, seeing as how we ARE trying to get the pirates to attack. The idea is to keep them safe. However, with actual passengers, the odds of the pirates attacking would be more likely. And the sooner we depart, the less likely that Kasom is likely to be able to get word to his 'pirates' about the ferry's new guards. Hrm." Jampo is clearly unhappy about the possibility of allowing the passengers to be in harm's way. But after a moment of self-contemplation, he nods in agreement, if not enthusiastically. "I think, perhaps, you may be right." he admits slowly. "But we must be honest with the passengers. We will protect them. But there is a chance of danger." Jampo looks out over the water. "With most cons, once the truth is discovered, those behind the con simply prefer to vanish and start over elsewhere rather than fight. That is the primary difference between a 'con' and a true 'racket', where if you do not pay, they do vandalize your business or do bodily harm. We can hope that this is a con, and not a more, organized, group." Jampo adds softly, remembering one brief brush with what he had thought was only a gang back in his youth.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"Oh, I wouldn't worry about that TOO much. If we're right, they need to keep up the threat or they lose the whole con. If muscles isn't in sight, and they only see a few 'kids' brave or foolish enough to ride, they'll show up." Jampo says with confidence.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo nods as the others comment. When he turns back he is still grinning at Kasom's ungraceful departure. "Heh. Children." Jampo smirks. The airbender holds out his hands in a placating gesture to the captain. "Not to worry sir. Uupa is indeed capable of flying himself across. Although, unlike most Air Bison, he actually enjoys smaller enclosures, I would never ask that of you or your fine craft." Jampo adds reassuringly. "I must agree. I've ru,...erm, seen enough street cons to know one when I see one. Let me guess. Kasom would stand in the front of your vessel? Where the pirates could get a good look at him? As long as he is seen, they do not attack? Yes. I smell a con." Jampo wrinkles his nose as if smelling something unpleasant. Captain. May I suggest that perhaps we be your only passengers this trip? We may still have to engage these pirates directly, and I would rather not place others in harm's way. If our group can ride, I will follow on Uupa. If they are foolish enough to attack, we shall see if a hippo-shark can be frightened by the appearance of a creature of equal size. Like an Air Bison." Jampo grins just a little bit too big, revealing his own youthfulness.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Again, Jampo suddenly develops an itch on his cheek that he reaches up to scratch, conveniently hiding his smirk at Palila's declaration. Years of living with monks, some of whom have taken vows of silence, has not provided many opportunities to practice quick-witted, clever comebacks. This journey will provide new opportunities at least! Jampo raises an eyebrow at Kasom's familiar treatment of Taik. A part of him is surprised that the big Northerner still has a hand! "We will, of course, pay for the transport of the Ostrich-Horses." Jampo adds solemnly, straight-faced once again. "After all, it would be unfair to deny the Captain his fair wage for services provided. Will that be acceptable Captain?" Jampo nods politely to the Captain of the ferry.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Per: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 Jampo manages to bite his lip, to hide his smile at Palila's comment.
Coughing gently as if to clear his throat, Jampo smiles at the newcomer. "I'm sorry, I'm a little confused. We are dealing with a river monster, AND river pirates? That seems, highly unusual." Jampo looks innocently between the captain and the large Northerner. "I LIKE unusual. It's exciting!" The youth adds, his smile growing broader. "I was afraid that this trip might be boring. Long journeys usually are, don't you think?" He asks Palila, turning his head to look at her so that the captain and Northerner can't see his sly wink to her. "But pirates, in THIS day and age! THAT sounds like fun, don't you agree?!" He continues cheerfully.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo gives a friendly bow and a small smile. "Yes please. We have some who need to ride across. We have been told that there may be difficulty with the crossing? Some sort of creature? We would like to offer our assistance in protecting the vessel as it crosses, and in dealing with the creature. We are all Benders and Warriors of some skill. We would like to help resolve the situation if we can."
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"Very true." Jampo replies to Palila with a nod of his head.
JAmpo gives a small smile at Mica.
"One of my favorite teachers once told me, 'Hope for the best. But prepare for the worst. That way you are seldom disappointed. Or surprised.'"
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo bows his head, acknowledging the questioning of his presumptions. "True, not all Spirit Creatures are friendly, although I have been taught that even unfriendly ones are not always aggressive. Let us proceed as you have wisely suggested. We shall speak with the ferry captain, and find out what is happening. Best to proceed with what knowledge is available than guessing and being mistaken, or rushing blindly in."
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Palila wrote:
"That is very true." Jampo agrees wryly, absentmindedly rubbing his nose at a memory. "I will be happy to keep watch with Uupa from above, with whomever wishes to join me. The rest of us can ride and guard the ferry if it becomes necessary. Although, I find the chances of a 'creature' in the river to be, unlikely. We will offer to guard the ferry and see if the ferry master will agree to that." Jampo says to the father with a smile. Jampo speaks to the others, out of earshot of the father.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 Jampo smiles once he figures out the situation. He figures he'll have a little fun as well, and bows to the boy, assuming a somber expression on his face that he hopes make him look like one of his Airbending teachers. One of the stuffed-robe ones. "Very good young airbender." Jampo says, trying to keep a straight face. "Always remember to temper your power with wisdom, and mercy." Jampo flashes a smile at the father, and notices that something seems to be bothering the man.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo positively beams in the new riders admiration of his furry friend. But he quickly turns serious when the others mention flame blasts! He glances to where the others are pointing. "I think he's fine. Look, Taik is right,... is he kneeling to that boy?" Jampo actually scratches his shaved head in confusion. "Come on Uupa, let's land over there and see what's going on." Jampo reaches over and ruffles the sky bison's fur once more, and flicks the reigns to tell the great beast which way to go. Within a few short moments, the sky bison has landed with a gentle rush of air, and Jampo leads the others in dismounting. (His experience allowing him to dismount by the time the others untie their safety straps)

Palila wrote: "Master Jampo, if Uupa would condescend to carry some of our mounts' baggage, Mica and I could ride while everyone else flies. That would give us scouts both on the ground and in the air, and we would make better time than if we walk," Palila suggests with some hesitation. "An excellent idea Palila." Jampo smiles in relief. Uupa is still small, and has not yet reached his full growth,..." which seems to surprise a couple of the group, seeing their reactions to that comment. ",... But there is still plenty of room in the sky-saddle for a few packs, as well as multiple riders." Jampo smiles. Evidently he likes the idea of having company.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"I agree. I'd rather not wait to find out if they are of low moral character, or smart enough to learn a lesson from this." Jampo waves Uupa to come down, and the young sky bison obliges, settling to the ground with a WHUFF and scattering of small debris kicked up by the bison's airbending. "Would you like to join me master Taikahana?" Jampo offers, gesturing for the warrior to precede him climbing into the sky-saddle.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Taik was walking, right? "Master Taikahana, I would be honored if you would join me in riding Uupa as we begin once more. As we left, I just realized how,... lonely, it would be up there, with everyone else traveling on the road.' Jampo phrases his request carefully, not wishing to upset the very traditional-minded samurai. But he was concerned that the knock he took might have rung the fire-benders bell. And not in a good way. "Perhaps, we can all take turns? Riding and traveling both via the road, and on Uupa? That way we will all get the chance to visit and get to know each other. What do you think?"
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"Ah." Says Jampo calmly. He clearly still does not understand why the men assaulted the group. He also clearly does not want to be thought of as an idiot. So he nods. "Perhaps, we might reconsider riding on Uupa together? As loathe as I am to leave your friends behind, we will make better time. And it might help avoid any more,... half-baked theories?" He smiles.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo is clearly confused. "I'm sorry, I did not hear the conversation. They said they were paid to attack you? Us?" The young airbender asks, clearly whatever he had been expecting, THIS was not it. "Why? What? They don't want us to find the avatar?"
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo looks crestfallen to have caused such injury. Although he gives a wan smile at Tik's complement on his meager healing skills. "Thank you. I am sorry, I did not mean to hit him, quite, so hard. I half expected him to dodge the blow. Too used to practicing with fellow airbenders I suppose." Jampo says quietly. Jampo's look seems to say that he approves of Tik's healing methods. Both the healing skill, and the fact that the bllue suited man still pays the price for his folly. :)
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"Ah. Wisdom is beyond price my friend. Be glad that you have it." Jampo says, inclining his head to the outspoken firebender. The young monk steps aside and allows 'Mee' to retrieve his fallen blue-suited comrade. But he watches him like a hawk. And the shadow of Uupa overhead reminds the thug that they are, indeed, being watched.

"That guy does not look good. Gimme a sec, I'll take a look." Jampo nods and moves to make room for Tikaani. The young monk knows the basics of medicine of course. (It's hard to live and train in a temple dedicated to Airbending, and not pick up some knowledge of first aid after all. Even Pacifists can do quite a bit of damage with Bending when learning to control their abilities!) But he's no healer. As he moves to make room for the waterbender, he looks at the remaining thugs. "I think this discussion is over. Don't you? Or, do we still have a problem?" Jampo asks quietly into the sudden silence after Mica's last powerful Earthbending strike.

"This man needs a healer!" Jampo calls loudly but calmly. Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 Jampo very carefully and gently rearranges the man's position, to ease his pain and hopefully restore his breathing.

Quote: "You're gonna pay for that, kid." Jampo matches the suited man's movements smoothly, still spinning his staff held out behind him. He easily dodges the clumsy attack. "I'm sorry. I don't carry money." Jampo says in a calm, simple tone. Jampo had long ago learned that most folk considered the small Airbender temples to be occupied by antiquated, nearly simpleton monks living in the far past. Despite the fact that it was common knowledge the majority of airbenders gained their airbending abilities during the time of Avatar Korra. Jampo had been a stone's throw from being a street rat, and possibly ending up like these rent-a-thugs. He had no trouble with playing on the expectations of the ignorant. Especially when they deserved a good spanking. Most thugs didn't really want anything like a fair fight. It was time to give these goons a demonstration of what they were up against, before they worked themselves up to actually injuring someone. Although he would have paid good money to watch Mica give her opponent the beating he so richly deserved. But enough was enough. Jampo goes instantly from moving slowly to whipping his airbender's staff around him in a swirling motion difficult to follow. He gathers his winds around him as he does so, launching into a series of spinning strikes on the suited man. Flurry of blows (full attack w/ staff) w/ Kinetic Fist for extra damage! Jampo frowns slightly at the sudden flurry of movement below him. His tattooed forehead wrinkles with unsightly furrows at the sight. "Uupa, wait here." The young airbender says with deceptive calm, like the eerie calm before a storm. With those quiet words, Jampo slips completely over the side of the air-saddle, and plummets towards the ground. Right before one of his otherwise-occupied companions might have noticed his apparent predicament, he twists and spins in mid-air, generating currents to slow his fall. But Jampo also takes advantage of his height and speed to slap the blue-suited ruffian across the back of his head with his newly-gifted airbenders staff. Att: I'm adding +2 for having the 'high ground' literally. :) and for flanking, presuming that also counts. I'll let you add the bonus for a charge if it's appropriate. (I think I can claim a direct line for the charge!) :) Staff attack (1 hit): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Jampo lands lightly as a feather, his airbending swirling the dust around him, obscuring him slightly from sight. One arm is extended ahead of him, his palm held forward in warning, his other extends behind him, spinning his perfectly balanced staff so fast it resembles an airplane propeller. Air Cushion Utility- always on Feather Fall, Air Defensive WT- 20% miss chance vs ALL ranged attacks "You have attacked without provocation. That was a warning. Please, desist and we will discuss the situation. Otherwise, I cannot guarantee your safety." Comes Jampo's voice from the swirling winds, soft yet carrying clearly to all.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Curiosity turns to concern when Jampo sees Moesashi assume an obviously prepared-for-fighting stance. His bald brow furrows in a combination of worry and concentration. "Hey Uupa, just wait up here for a bit buddy, OK? I'm gonna go make sure everything is alright." Jampo pats the thick neck ruff of the sky bison with one hand as he retrieves his new airbender staff from it's ties in the saddle with his other. He accomplishes this without ever taking his eyes off the scene below. Jampo weighs his options rapidly, but thoughtfully. He has no desire to escalate what may be a simple misunderstanding by leaping onto a person who may only be asking for directions. But he doesn't want to allow things to get out of hand if he could defuse them by being there to talk to these strangers himself. Sigh. While he completely understands and sympathizes with his fellow animal-lovers, he really should have asked them leave their ostrich-horses behind and they could all have taken Uupa. Oh well, too late now.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo leans over the edge of the sky saddle to get a better view of his new companions below him. To those unaccustomed to flying on an air bison, the perch doubtlessly looks needlessly precarious. Seeing the group of colorfully clad people drawing closer to the travelers, And not being privy to his companions observations about them, he grows curious and steers Uupa closer. Just as the man in a blue suit calls out, the shadow of Uupa passes over him.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo flies overhead of the others on Uupa. He is enjoying the beautiful morning immensely, but Uupa seems to be grumpy that he is not being allowed to fly his usual height. "Don't worry Uupa. We can fly higher soon. But it seemed to be important that we be seen leaving the city together, as we are supposed to be a team searching for the new Avatar." Jampo reaches over the edge of the saddle and ruffles Uupa's fur. "See? They are already clear of the city. We can make better time soon." Jampo points out cheerfully, looking at his new companions below. Per: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 Jampo is so preoccupied with Uupa, and his companions, thathe fails to observe the fan club that follows them.

Jampo looks surprised in the morning to find Jian waiting after breakfast to greet them in her official White Lotus garb. He spares a quick glance at his own clean but travel-rumpled 'Traditional Pyjamas', (As the younger kids called them), and gives them a subtle tug, smoothing out the worst of the wrinkles. Silently, almost instinctively, Jampo falls into line with the others, only a questioning glance or two shows his own confusion. Whatever he was expecting this morning, this semi-formal ceremony wasn't it. As Jian proceeds, Jampo's eyes widen as the gifts are presented. He knows next to nothing of metal-bending but the basic history, (It was invented by the blind earth-bender Toph, according to her auto-biography, he knew THAT much) But even he had heard of Hishen's Blade. When Jian reached him, Jampo's eyes widened even more. (He hadn't thought it was possible.) He was afraid that he may be standing there, gaping like a fish, but he couldn't help himself. Jian wasn't giving him an airbender staff. She was giving him a piece of history. And a piece or her own past as well. The staff that Avatar Korra used when she learned airbending? The reverent way that Jampo accepted the staff with both hands belied his own conflicted nature. Did he woop with delight like a kid and jump into the air? Or put it in a museum? Externally, Jampo bowed calmly over the staff as he accepted it from Jian. "Thank you. I am honored. I hope I can use it to make Avatar Korra, and you, proud." He murmured quietly. But he couldn't keep the smile from creeping onto his face. Oh yeah, he is totally going for a joy ride.

"Yes. I am not certain how Avatar Aang managed it on his long journey with his friends." Jampo looks and smiles briefly at Tikaani before returning to his own chopping. "Looks like I'll soon find out!" Jampo adds wryly, a slight smile on his face.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo actually laughs at that one. It is a pleasant, relaxed laugh. "Ah,... no. Uupa is actually vegetarian. I think Siba is safe. Uupa would have to be VERY hungry indeed to give you cause to worry. Although I may need to go and find him a grazing spot. Like most large creatures, Uupa does require a large amount of food. Fortunately, they do not eat their full weight in food every day. They seem to store the food for use later. I guess it is easier to airbend and fly without a full tummy." Jampo laughs again. "It is interesting. Obviously those Air bison that are more active eat more often. A traveling Air bison may eat a decent amount each day, where a bison just flying around the Air Temple and not traveling may only eat once a week." Jampo explains as he expertly dissects several apples. He is obviously warming to his subject.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"Anything I can do to help?" Jampo says, peeking into the kitchen. Since one of the cooks at the Air temple was notoriously territorial, he had developed a habit of making sure it was safe to enter the domicile of the chef. In case you missed him looking to help earlier :)
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo smiles upon seeing the Grand Lotus's home. He takes a quick, but intense look around. Then he bows apologetically to Palila. {b]"With your permission, I will go and fetch Uupa now. Now that I know where we're going, we can fly back i9n but a few moments! Thank you!"[/b] Jam,po shouts over his shoulder as he takes off running, a gust of wind audibly accompanying him as he dashes through the street. True to his word, it is only a relatively short time later when Jampo and Uupa, with much consternation from the people in the street, land behind the Grand Lotus' home. "I think I was just in time." Jampo remarks to the first to come outside.
Jampo settles Uupa in a corner of the yard, and goes inside to freshen up from the days travel. Face clean and hair combed, He reappears shortly after in the kitchen, and looks to see if he can be of any help.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo inclines his head to Jian. "I would be most honored to accept your kind offer. Thank you." He says with obvious relief. It is obvious that the same thing was crossing his mind as well. He seems grateful to Moesashi for mentioning it first.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"Right. Problem settled then. Next?" Jampo asks politely, also displaying no hint of the relief that he felt. Jampo honestly had NO idea how he was going to have convinced Uupa to carry an Ostrich -Horse in the first place. Much less how to make one fit or stay in the saddle. "Travel overland may take longer, but this will grant us opportunity to get to know one another better. This is good." Jampo observes with a head bow. Again, despite the obvious advantages to all of them riding on Uupa, it simply never occurs to Jampo to ask someone to leave their Ostrich-Horse behind. (Presuming, correctly or otherwise, that they share a similar bond of friendship with their beast as he does with Uupa.)
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"Well,... We'll figure it out." Jampo says decisively, seeing Palila glance at the ground. "Not sure HOW exactly,..." He mutters softly. Then continues aloud. If we're the New Team Avatar, then we stick together. That's one thing that all of the lessons from Aang and Korra have taught us. We can do anything as long as we work together. We'll just make this the first test we have to solve." Jampo smiles.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo looks surprised, and possibly shocked. Although he hides it fairly well. "Um,... I'm not sure,..." He says with a (Not quite panicked) glance around at the others. "I'm not sure." he repeats slowly, hoping it sounds thoughtful. "I've never known of anyone giving an ostrich-horse a ride on an air bison. Doesn't mean it can't be done I suppose. I just wouldn't know where to begin." Despite his misgivings, Jampo truly begins to think about how it might be done. As small as Siba looks, (Lots of things look small compared to an air bison) Siba is still an impressive amount of muscle and feathers. Not to mention the beak and talons. He isn't even certain that there will be room for all of them in the saddle after Siba. Jampo sees Palila's pleading look and sighs. If she cared for her ostrich-horse even half as much as he cared for Uupa,... Jampo sighs again. "Oh,... I guess it won't hurt to TRY. If we can figure out how without Siba or one of US getting knocked overboard. IF Uupa's ok with it!" Jampo adds hastily.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
"That's a really good idea." Jampo says, looking over Palila's shoulder at the map again. "Uupa is fantastic, but while he's full grown, he's still young, and not used to carrying this many people for long distances yet. I'd rather not risk tiring him out over uncharted desert if we can get directions to were we are going instead." The pride in his voice for his furry friend warring with concern is obvious. "I mean, even wandering tribes still follow a regular route or yearly schedule don't they? Someone they trade with may know the most likely place to find them at this time of year?" He asks the group in general, but glances at Jian.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo looks at the map. Thanks to having a sky bison, he had been taught how to read a map. Mostly so he could find his way home again. "Well. With Uupa I see no reason we cannot go to either location first. We have to only to choose which way to fly." Jampo says, nervously stating the obvious. Jampo did not know why he was suddenly nervous. He guessed it had to do with suddenly being in a position of responsibility. And possibly the fact that he did not want to seem inadequate in front of Jian, not after being selected for this honor by her personally. "So. All we have to do is investigate individuals in both Omashu and the Si Wong desert, while looking over our shoulders for possible trouble by other groups, some of whom may or may not be members of a long-scattered cult. That about sums it up? No problem, right!?" The tall young man smiles easily, belying his nerves.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo observed Jian's entrance to the stage with silent admiration. Despite her injuries and prosthesis, she made her control of earthbending look deceptively simple. But once Jian started talking, Jampo went into what he called his 'daze-trance'. Not really out of it, not in actual meditation either. He gave a small smile at the mention of 'Team Avatar', but was idly observing the crowd. He was snapped out of it by a sudden surprised thought,... 'Wait. What?!?' Jian wrote: "Jampo Dorjee is a young airbending master, awarded his airbender tattoos at a young age. He came highly recommended by his masters, including Master Ikki and Master Meelo, grandchildren of Avatar Aang himself. Not only is he a skilled airbender, but his self-control and hard work are admirable." Jampo gave a small bow as the crowd politely applauded. But inside his thoughts were now racing. Jian had known that to receive this assignment he must have been approved by at least one of the older masters. But he had no idea that masters Ikki and Meelo had actually recommended him. The joy he felt to know that they felt so strongly in him was countered by the sudden increase in weight of the responsibility he already felt. He couldn't disappoint Masters Ikki and Meelo. He actually LIKED them!

Jampo watches the conversation flow, at one point his head turning back and forth as if watching a Bending tournament. It takes all of his self control not to look nervous as possible friction develops, and then seems to vanish as rapidly as it came. Jampo is not afraid of a fight. He actually enjoys the challenge of sparring. But he has a serious dislike for genuine conflict. It makes him nervous. So he watches and observes, wondering if he will be required to step in and defuse a tense situation already. The thought crosses Jampo's mind, maybe that is one of the reasons he was asked to join this search. While quite the chatterbox with his friends, with new acquaintances he tended to speak slowly, carefully considering his words. This seems to have given him a reputation among non-airbenders as a quiet, careful and thoughtful young man. Jampo's friends knew better, of course. But Jampo did his best to cultivate this reputation. Both because it caused any possible opponents to underestimate him, and because, who knows? ONE day he may grow into it. Thus it is that his insight serves him well, as he addresses the true cause of Jian's tension. "Please, do not worry Master Beifong. We will find the Avatar. Your trust, and the Avatar's future, is safe with us." He tells the woman quietly as she prepares to head onto the stage. Jampo folds his arms together, once again wishing that he had thought to wear the more formal full Classic Airbender robes instead of his more common gi. The formal robes made it so much easier to hide nervousness and fidgeting. Outside he stood tall, the classic picture of an Airbending Master, in a pose reminiscent of the old Avatar Aang statue. Inside, the young Airbender was doing his happy/nervous dance.

Jampo automatically returns the Samurai's bow with his own, left hand folded over his right fist, as befits greeting a warrior. "Pleasure to meet you." Jampo adds less formally but still politely. The airbender's first impression of the samurai is that the fellow gets out of his training dojo even less than Jampo. Still, the fellow seems more stiff-from-nerves than stiff-from-having-a-stick-up-his-armor. His greeting was stiff with formality, but sincere, not a dimly disguised insult to a considered inferior. Yeah, Jampo decided he liked the samurai. And the armor was really awesome! They didn't have anything like THAT at the Airbender temples!

Jampo bows his head briefly. "I am, honored, that you would ask me to join such an endeavor. I am honored to accept. I will also do as you ask." 'I am also scared to death. Such a responsibility. FIND the Avatar?!? Has such a thing ever happened before?' The tall Airbender contemplates, his mind rushing as fast as the winds he favors, while outside his demeanor suggests that such an adventure is commonplace.
Male Human (Air Nomad) Gestalt Unchained Monk/Keneticist (Air) 2
Jampo bows to Jian. "Honored to see you again Ms Beifong" The airbender says with a small smile. Jampo had enjoyed speaking with the woman when they had met previously. She had an intelligence and dry wit that was not commonly found in the Monastery. "I am sure that I will have several questions for you. Later. But for now?" Jampo looks around at the crowds, and his fellow benders. "Wait,... Task? I was under the impression that we were here to help teach the new Avatar how to Bend our respective elements. Is there something else that must be done first?" Jampo looks around again, his bare brow furrowed in confusion.

Her moves are so smooth, I wouldn't mind going a few rounds with her." He grins up at the taller man before adding with a laugh "I get the feeling she'd knock me for a loop though." Jampo smiles at Tikaani words with a head bow. Then his eyes widen slightly as the double meaning slips through. His smile flashes again, but it is accompanied by an embarrassed chuckle. Tik gets the feeling that Jampo doesn't get out of the monastery much. Tik wrote:
Jampo nods once more, flowing through the crowd similar to Tikaani. However while his movements are fluid and flowing as Tikaani's, Jampo's speed comes and goes. The airbender maneuvers his way through the crowd as if carried on the wind currents of his companion's passing. Jampo turns in place to slip between two groups of people, and looks to make certain they are not losing the others in the crowd.

Jampo Bemusedly follows Palila as she zig-zags through the crowds with fierce determination. He raises an eyebrow at one particularly deft maneuver to avoid a child with obviously sticky fingers. He appreciated her obvious skill. She was,... very dexterous. Jampo blinked, a flicker of a frown crossing his bald brow. The new version of the rebuilt Airbender monasteries were no longer enforcing the old traditions of Monkish celibacy, In fact they actively supported the new airbenders having families, hoping to eventually add more airbenders to the world at large. But Jampo had come here on a mission for the new Avatar. Not to try and find a date. He did not have time for such things right now. Jampo realized that he was so out of touch with his former City life, that he wasn't even sure how to ask a girl out anymore. He furrowed his brow as he realized that his train of thoughts were not proceeding as planned. Safer to stop thinking and simply follow Palila through the crowd to the colorful platform. So he did. The airbender soon realized that he was hard-pressed to move through the crowd quite as easily as Palila. He moved as gracefully, but she somehow naturally made it look easier. His estimation of her skills raised another notch.

"So, do you know the way to the stage? Perhaps we will be fortunate and find what else you need on the way? here seem to be as many vendors as there are attendees." Jampo asks, once again assuming a quieter, calmer demeanor now that they are not interacting with his large furry friend.
