Turak, your not able to read it for too long. It is mostly nonsense and you can't find any structure in the lines.
"Oh thanks! Say you're not from around here from here are you? At least I don't think you are. Seeing as how you know Poppo, I'll let you each have a bowl of noodles, in return for taking him my poetry!" she turns and looks at Turak hopefully, waiting for an reaction to her poetry.
As it turns out, even thought the noodles are grey and nasty looking, they are delicious. Turns out Poppo was right about them!
Turak, what can I do to speed things up? I decided not to wait for you guys to role dice anymore if I can to move the story along, which will help. Anything else you can think of?
Also to the party, just as a heads up, I'll be gone for a few days next week (Thursday - Saturday/Sunday). I'll post if I can but will likely not be able to during this time. I'll be home on Sunday but if I'm too tired from the trip I might not feel like posting, but Monday I'll be back for sure.
The noodles are a dank grey color, and don't look to good.
"Poppo! Why didn't you lot say so!?" she begins fishing around in her bag and pulls out a pile of papers, "Gives these to him! some of my poetry! tell him to critique it for me!"
The poems are....terrible, but she has a hopeful look in her eyes.
"You can find her preforming with that new poet as well, I believe she preforms before him. Two days from now, in the evening."
---On too the Noodle Cart---
Open the spoiler or deal with the ghost, let me know but I'll post for the noddle cart so you can move there if you all wish too
Benny knows the man really did see a ghost, or at least that he thinks it is a ghost.
two days still. Another post when I get home
how are we doing so far guys? Sorry for all the circles, this adventure is interesting, but I am having fun, how about you?
Sorry for the few times I have forgotten to post, I just go to bed forgetting, but if it is okay with all of you I am having an easier time remembering when I get off work to post, and will be about the same time it has been. How does that sound?
Your able to find out that one man claims to have seen a ghost diving into the bay by the warehouse, and resurfaced later with a white staff. No one else claims to have seen it though, and he is mostly made fun up Sense Motive Checks?
"Jacks Telandril works odd jobs around Docktown, often having to do with building second and third stories onto new ships." Auntie, an older Halfling woman tells you. "I also hear that he is up to his ears and debt and plans to open a magic item shop" she then grins mischievously "I also hear that he is in a relationship with the revolutionary playwright Amalia Wraxton" she gives a wink.
The Cleric is not lying
In Docktown’s chaotic jumble of ships, Auntie’s tavern still manages to stand out. Draped in bright curtains of white and red and bearing a huge, garishly painted former ship’s masthead of a woman as its sign creatively augmented to hold two foaming mugs aloft, the three-story converted ship’s hold is perpetually packed with Pezzacki looking to drown their fears and boredom.
You hear some speak of a ghost in a nearby warehouse as you enter.
"My name is Valian Wain. The ship sank out in the bay during the second ashes. I never held the gem myself, so I don't know if it was magic, but it meant much to my family"
What are you guys planning to do?
Also I have a question for you guys. There are different factions in the PFS for each of you to be part of. There are different faction notes that are popping up in the adventure but im not sure how you guys are suppose to know to interact with them. Where should i be looking to give you guys these missions?
Lame
That book worth the money? I was thinking about putting the money into getting it.
"I'm sorry for being so short with you. A family gem was placed on a ship during the time of the second burning, and the ship was sunk. I heard that it was fished out of the bay but they refuse to return it to me."
"I heard that your man Jack was arrested and placed in prison, but I've also heard that he is freely walking the streets. Other than that I haven't heard anything about him."
This adventure is so weird. I'm sorry guys. You get sent somewhere and it just turns into a rabbit chase
"You all seem like an honest group, if you need any spell casting, I would be willing to assist, for the right price of course. Can't use up my regents for free."
"A dangerous Galton revolutionary, if they are allowed to keep attacking Loyalists and stealing from them, what little order Pezzack still have will be lost"
She seems to be indifferent toward you, but I will roll diplomacy for each of you and if you hit the DC a post will follow
Turak: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6
Seinaru: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (9) + 12 = 21
Ella: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9
Bennybeck: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Siival: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Bastian: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Turak, the manor has been converted into an inn, sorry for not letting you know that. The inn has some other patrons but the Cleric stands out.
It's all been payed for read away
This stately brick and wood manor was one of the few spared from the Second Ashes’ fires. Painted red with black trim, it proudly flies the current flag of diabolical Cheliax—though the flag is riddles with holes, tears, and burns from numerous attempts to destroy it. The interior is well-appointed, though even it shows signs of makeshift repairs and spats of violence.
A human cleric of Iomedae, sits in a tall-backed chairs nursing a cup of thin tea in the otherwise empty commons, her brow creased with worry and the fringes of her longsleeved dress still tinged in crimson
Sorry for missing my post last night, I've been sick this week and went to bed without remembering to post, might happen once in a while but ill make sure to catch up durring the day if ido
They are halved from your earlier roles. She's brutal
"Olandil? “I’m afraid that name doesn’t ring a bell. Should it?”
You'll have to pay for certain information. The price for each is listed in the spoiler below, make sure you pay the price. Also, let me know who you are paying to learn about.
"You just need to be in the right business", she says to Ella.
"Well you don't seem to be too bad a lot, ask away, although I can't promise the information I give to be free."
The jagged cobblestone street is lined with storefronts looted to the buildings’ bones. Entire walls have been hauled away, stripped not just of stone and wood but also the nails that secured them, and anything remotely valuable was picked clean years ago. One shop stands relatively intact, however— Torandril’s Finery. Its windows are boarded shut, though lights inside appear to shine between the planks.
Inside stands a Chelish woman, along with eight armed guards. The guards keep an eye on you as you enter, but do not stop or bother you.
The Chelish woman looks up from her book as you enter and raises an eyebrow, "Can I help you?"
Siival, Seinaru, and Turak all manage to pick up talk from around the inn that the poet preforming goes by Jaks Arunai, and Turak knows that he has been getting a lot of publicity in Pezzack in the last few years.
Also, it is Moonday which means you have two days before Jaks' performance, and a reminder you only have seven days to find Olandil.
not even going to lie I didn't notice that Bastian

"Well of course you have to try her noodles while in Pezzack! I doubt she'll know ANYTHING about Olandil though! Anyway off to the Inkwell then, I'll give you more information when you return, remember, your looking for him as a poet there!"
A former fortress on the north seafront, the stonework Inkwell inn is home to rowdy, defiant, impassioned revolutionaries who fill its commons while making plans to harry the town’s Loyalists and discourage the Chelish navy. Chankings, the inn’s noisy iron golem bouncer, keeps watch at the open doors.
As you open the door you are hit with the smell of ale, and different conversations and arguments from around the building. A man thrusts a flyer into the arms of the first who enters and turns back to listen to a argument.

I just got home and am going to try to post now but a thunderstorm is over head and my internet might give out again, if it does I will post in the morning and again tomorrow night

Calisro answers each question in turn, "Olandil? I don't know what he was doing in Pezzack at the time the blockade but he was trapped there. However he is an old friend of Venture-Captain Drandle, and when he wants someone smuggled out of a blockade, I don't argue.
Turak is able to share with the group only a little about Pezzack, in that it is a coastal town in Cheliax and it's most prominent industry is whaling. "Correct Turak, it has also been burned to the ground twice, once by the Cheliaxan army and once again by the local strix. Revolutionaries moved there to rebuild it both times and it is now a hot spot for revolutionary ideas against house Thrune. As for Poppo, I'm not sure what aid he will be able to provide you outside of assisting in finding Olandil, but he can be trusted. As for supplies you should be able to purchase what Poppo can't lend." She looks around the table at each of you, "If that's all the questions of you have then I suggest you get some rest, you have a long week ahead of you."
The new moon and clouds keep the pre-dawn sky dark as the Pixie sidles up to the Patience. The ragged whalers silently pull person after person from their hold of scant fish—emaciated elderly people, several haggard-looking young men and women, and even a trio of children—each of them looking like they’ve gone years without rest as they listlessly cross the plank joining the ships. Venture Captain Benarry welcomes the refugees in a booming voice, and her crew sets to work bringing provisions to the newcomers. The Patience’s crew lacks their ship’s namesake as they hurriedly wave over the refugee’s replacements.
The hour-long trip from the Grinning Pixie to Pezzack is cramped and unpleasant, but otherwise uneventful. Once you dock several crew members scoop and dump you, and the fish you are hiding in, into a large wagon. Your trapped in the fish for over half an hour as you are hauled along the streets of Pezzack. You don't get a good look of the path you take but eventually you end up at the Academy of applied magic.
When you arrive a gnome throws open the door to greet you, “Split me like Nethys’s eyebrow! I’m genuinely surprised the Passfinders sent people! Sorry for the lack of a good cover story— didn’t have room in the notes—didn’t expect a response—and sorry for the fish guts and the bumpy roads and—oh, sorry for everything. If we had a little more time…”
Poppo trails off, but picks right back up after a moment of silence. “Right! You’re here for Olandil. It’s… it’s complicated. He’s, well, he’s not himself lately. He’s four selves. Since your little Pathfinder Society left him behind, he’s had to make do— improvise—take on new names and jobs waiting for rescue."
"When I first met him, he went by Jax Telandril and needed me to enhance some goggles of disguise for some work in Docktown. He kept asking questions about Fat Harbor and the town’s magic item economy. A year later he came in needing me to add some disguise charms to an eye patch; I asked him why, and he spilled it all—so tired of keeping secrets—he was also Jacks Falger! The one-eyed Galtan spy!"
“He kept coming back over the years. He came in one day as Jaks Arunai, some hot-shot White Thistles poet. Last week, he comes in looking awful, and said he was a Passfinder named Olandil, and I just… I couldn’t process it! Four people! One person!”
Poppo gesticulates madly, alternating between raising four fingers and one finger to emphasize his point. “I told him my own secret—I had been teaching a Passfinder vantage-captain as a correspondence student—and he told me to send her a message saying he wanted out of Pezzack. As though that’s even possible! But I sent it, and he thanked me, he left, and I haven’t seen him since."
“Night before last, I had Loyalists—” Poppo smothers the word with disdain, and doubles up on his disgust as he repeats it. “—Loyalists in my office, telling me to stop doing business with Olandil, following me everywhere except the Guts because I bet they don’t like to get their boots dirty. They knew who Olandil really is, too! And they’ve been outside the Academy since, watching, waiting. They don’t know about my ladder to the Guts, but they’ll find out eventually.”
"Anyway there are several different parts of town you might be able to find out about Olandil, although you'll have to ask about the different personas he has been taking on of course. Gold Street, The Inkerll, The Throm Defiant, Auntie's, and Madge's Noodle cart."
“The thieves’ guild operates out of Gold Street. Lots of information if you can buy it. You didn’t bring money with you, did you? Nobody takes money here. Maybe the Loyalists, but still, nobody worth spending it on.”
“The Ink well is Literati hangout. Lots of rebels, lots of fights. Someone who knows Jaks the poet, the one in the White Thistles, will be there, I’m sure of it."
“The Throne Defiant is a Loyalist inn. If you want to get to the bottom of Olandil’s connection with the Loyalists, you can try there.”
“Auntie's is a big tavern in Docktown, and a good place for gossip. You can try asking about Jax Telandil around there—he’s the Docktown Jax—but mind who you talk to if you don’t want to spread rumors.”
“Madge doesn’t know anything except noodles, but she knows noodles! You have to try them.”
"There are a few other locations I'll mention as well, but before I go on, is there anything I can clear up for you? I'm sure you are hungry, would you like some fish?' Poppo snickers.
Thanks for the patients guys, sorry about last night
Hey guys! This is James's girlfriend. His internet went down at his house and he can't get on this site to post so he has asked me to let you guys know he will post tomorrow, and that you can all role history and local knowledge checks to see what your character's know about pezzack.
He also says sorry

A sailor interrupts your conversation as he enters the ships quarters, beckoning you to follow. He takes you through the ship and to the main deck, and from there, to the captains quarters.
Muscular and imposing in a green-dyed longcoat, tunic, and puffed trousers, the half-orc Venture-Captain Calisro Benarry kicks out a chair for herself from under the massive oak table at the center of her well-furnished cabin and sits down. “Welcome to the Pixie, Pathfinders. Enjoy your tour while it lasts, ‘cause by Sunday night you’ll be off the boat."
"We’re a day’s sail from a rendezvous with a Pezzacki whaler, the Patience, which has permits to cross the Chelish blockade to fish. That town’s been locked down since the people upended the empire’s government five years ago, and those permits are hard to come by. We’d teleport you into Pezzack if the damned devilfolk didn’t have the place blanketed with spies, so instead we’ll throw you into the hold with the Patience’s catch. Which is good for you, trust me, because nobody in that town smells any better than you will.”
Calisro leans forward, and whispers gruffly, “You’ll be dropped off to my contact at the Academy of Applied Magic, professor Kalizandrex Poppo. He’ll help you track down a trapped Pathfinder named Olandil, who’s been stuck there for five years—your job’s to get him out. Be careful who you talk to, though, and how you ask questions. That place is more volatile than Gorum on a bender, and the more you poke around, the more likely you’ll be the next to burn it down.”
The venture captain pulls a sheaf of nautical charts out of a case at her hip and unfurls them on the table. “As for getting you out of the town, I know a thing or two about the sailing patterns of the ships around here. The Pixie can pick around the coast north of here for a week before Abrogail’s folk come asking questions.” The venture-captain smirks as she continues, “In case you hadn’t noticed, the Pixie, well, she looks an awful lot like a pirate vessel, and the Chelish navy doesn’t exactly welcome pirates with open arms. You’d better get back here by then. Any questions?”
im going to message the other 3 to make sure they know we have started
Also i have started the gameplay
I have started the gameplay
oh yes thank you, I will need each of your IDs ad some point, either on here or messaged to me, whichever is easier for you
Let's get this underway! Again, thanks for all of your patients while I got this figured out!
Each one of you are lucky enough, or maybe unlucky enough, depending on how you feel about sea travel, to get a coveted tour on the crew of Venture-Captain Calisro Benarry’s Grinning Pixie, which is also known as the Arcadian Mariner’s Lodge.
The ship is already underway and you each are settling into you bunks when the adventure begins.
Go ahead and take a post to introduce yourselves to each other

and bennyback, i have the recruitment thread going and you can pop in there. Tomorrow evening we will begin the adventure! Bring any character you want levels 1-3 who hasn't completed this adventure
Had normal work hours yesterday. Recruitment is closed now though. If you showed interest and didn't drop you are in. We will start on Saturday I believe. If I get behind in preping it'll be Sunday but once we start it'll be golden
You know what, I can imagine how hard it is getting into a PbP adventure, as I assume that there aren't a lot of DMs out there who want to run a PbP game. What are the odds of me be able to handle a full 6 players? I'l have to read over the rules but if it is doable I would love to.
Alright I don't have my normal work hours tomorrow so I will begin reading over the adventure then. As for recruitment I'm planning on taking the people who signed up first, which would be:
Fiddlepocket
Qstor
Galton Core
Bastian
You four still interested?
Yes this is still on. Just got back from a weekend without Wi-Fi. Glad to see people taking interest! I'll post more tomorrow eveing after work
So I want to get into PFS and I decided that DMing would be one of the best ways to do so. As it turns out there is one in Pezzack, which happens to also be a place in a Pathfinder novel I am reading so i decided, despite the bad reviews, I decided to run this adventure.
Would anyone be interested from levels 1-2 to get involved in this? I'd like to only have to DM for four players on my first PFS game.
As long as everyone can post once in the evening that will be enough, although the more posts a night the merrier, but I myself will not be posting until the evenings though.
If be a skald, healer with some armor in the front line, access to all knowledge skills
I could join on my ulfen Skald, I am new to PFS though, just as a warning, but i believe that my character is in order and ready to go (not new to pathfinder or GOlderon though, just PFS)
Lokren Wintersgrasp
Here is my character, finished as far as i can tell and ready to go, what is the status on your friend? is this going to happen?
Yeah I'm acually on vacation this week so my character is still a work in progress. And once I get home, unless something unforseen happens I'll be able to post in the evenings.
Been trying to post this all day.maybe this time!
Anyway I'm not knew to pathfinder or the inner sea but I decided I wanna give PFS a try and I'm wondering if anyone would he willing to take my skald under their wing for an adventure so I could get a full for it.
Hopfully this posts.
- Thanks
