![]() I'm currently running one PbP and playing in two others, so if Moulini would like the spot I will graciously remove myself from the running. I've got plenty of PbP action going on and don't want to bog down the action. If Moulini doesn't look like they will work out, I'll keep my finger on the pulse of this thread. Thanks! I'll be lurking... ![]()
![]() I'll throw in my hat...I've got a rogue that I was playing up like a historian type, almost Indiana Jones style character in that he respects history and is into adventuring to learn about past cultures and recover artifacts. Never got him into a PbP as the one I signed up for fizzled...here is the character basics (I'm posting as the character). I'll jump in however you can work me in. :) I'm familiar with the story, but obviously won't metagame at all. ![]()

![]() Guys, if you can bear with me for a few more days, I'd love to stay in the game. With my situation last weekend, and a few other things that have come up, I'll be pretty much out of comission until Monday or so. I completely understand if you need to replace me. Otherwise if someone will post for me in my absence I'll be back very soon. Thanks! ![]()

![]() "Sheesh," mutters Jaken. "I've stepped on rattlesnakes with better temperaments than this crew. My mother use to say 'If you can't stand the heat, don't sleep near the hearth!' Good advice." He clears his throat and raises his voice slightly. "No offense meant, Master dwarf, I just don't particularly want to be the first one who gets bit. I'm hale and hearty enough, but try not to bleed before lunch if I can help it. "Oddly enough, our fierce little friend here" he gestures to Nuveril "is probably the most...ahem...qualified to do the honors. Unless you think it may be booby-trapped." If the others want, Jaken will go ahead and make sure the doors aren't trapped. If not, disregard the roll but it may save time. If gnolls come in the holes in the wall, the she-camel will be 'safe' enough to cower in her trap for a few minutes before their blades find her -- or their manacles. Even a rat in its burrow can dig another way out if the snake finds its entrance." "Always so chipper, this one," Jaken sighs. "Still it does offer better protection than sitting out in the open. It reminds me of the story of Sheikh Al'Hadaffi's seige against the..." He trails off, once he sees no one is listening. "Ahem, never mind then. So, Parvy, what do you think is the best avenue of approach?" ![]()

After thanking Zastorian for the potion, and promising to use it as a last resort, Jaken pats the late-arrival on the back. "Chin up, my friend," he says amiably, "at least the air is fresh, the sun is warm, and the wind sings us a tune." Jaken double checks his huge backpack, making sure all his gear is accounted for, and finally tightens the straps. Adjusting his wide brimmed hat, he nods to the rest of the group. "Let's be off, my friends! This time tomorrow, fate willing, we'll be finishing up a nice breakfast after a sleep indoors." ![]()

"Intersting," Jaken mumbles, pulling out a weather-beaten journal and scribbling furiously. "Thanks for the information." He smiles crookedly and heads back to the fire to share the information with Parvenah, Losk, and his talkative halfling friend. No problem, Mr. Haul. :) Just making sure this wasn't going to fizzle like the last PbP I was in! ![]()

![]() Jaken engages in small talk with the chattering halfling, smiling at his mannerisms. I thought I was more comfortable in the city! I'm a regular outdoorsman compared to him. Still, he seems like a decent fellow, and honestly this job tomorrow seems almost too simple. He notices Nuveril talking to the unkempt man. He excuses himself and wanders up towards the tail end of the conversation and stands near where she is crouching. "So," he says to the man, "do these critters often travel in packs?" ![]()

![]() "Aye, ma'am," Jaken says. "the terms seem acceptable to me, though I won't speak for my new friends here." He nods towards the two halflings and the dwarf. "Friends, we've not been properly introduced." Jaken gives a bow and a tip of his wide brimmed hat. "I am Jaken Doone. Historian, expert treasure-seeker, and occasional second-story man, though I won't admit to the last until I've got some Varisian wine in my belly and a woman to impress." Unless his new employer has more to add, or the newcomers object, he motions towards one of the many fires to speak with his new companions for a while before turning in. ![]()

A moment, please, Parvy, if I may call you that." He jogs towards the odd trio pointing at the corpse of the Pugwumpi Pugwumpus?. "Oy, friends, what in the Nine Hells is that?" |
