Jak was born without a name, cast out at birth by an Orc tribe in Belkzan for his half man status. He luckily was found by a wandering adventurer. That adventutuer gave Jak to a farmer named Luke Dorn.

Raising the Half-Orc, Luke and his wife Rumila named the boy Jak when he was young and showed a natural talent for farming and nearly everything he set his mind too. A Jack of All Trades.

A green thumb gardener, skilled hunter, and trailblazer. Jak would go on huge expidtions into the wilderness, often gone for weeks at a time.

After one such out, Jak returned to find that raiders had pillaged his father's farm and killed his family. Grief stricken Jak fled, wandering for several years, living in isolation. When he made his way to Absolom and heard of the expidition he decided to stop running, to help people and grow things again.

He is good natured and kind, willing to help and build communities. Fiercely protective of friends, though he currently doesn't have any. He is humble and hardworking, a salt of the earth kind of man.

His appearance is that of most half-orcs, but he is lacking the tattoos and battle scars found on most of his kin. Tall and broad with long black hair he wears in a ponytail, thick arms and worn hands.

Goals: Establish a strong communtiy and own a ranch and farm. Maybe in the distant future be a food merchant to make some money.

Better Background for Melody:
Melody walked through the twilight of the forest, trailing behind Mazina, the chief magebreeder of her house. The Baron, Melody's father had wanted her to go on this trip, wanted to see the heart of the forest. Animals darted to and fro, deer, bears, fox. Animals caused her no fear, Mazina had the greater mark of handling and no animal would bother them.

They traveled for days. Through the shadow reach, into the heart on the way to see Olian, The Great Druid, an awakened tree thousands of years old and the most powerful druid in the world. After a few hours the twilight hours set upon them, the forest grew more mystical. Mazina spoke in her reverent and teaching voice, to her young ward. "We are entering the heart, near the gate to the shadow court, can you feel the energy of the Fey?"

Melody touched the ground, it seemed alive. "I feel it." she said. Minutes later, the trees began to turn, they seemed to look at the intruders, some even moved and followed them. Melody gasped in awe as a plethora of animals came into view, great stags as tall as the trees, bears five times the size of horses, fairies flittered about, and nymphs danced at the edge of her vision beyond the trees. Another mile of this and Mazina stopped and pointed. There stood the tallest tree in the forest, with a face and arms, it looked down on them. The Great Druid. It spoke with a low rumble and the wisdom of ages. "Mazina, how fare you this fine eve?" it asked in a kind tone.

"Well, ancient one." the magebreeder replied before continuing. "Olian, this is Melody, youngest scion of house Vadalis."[b] Melody curtsied as best she could in her practical leather forest wear.

[b]"Hello sir." the young girl spoke to the ancient tree. "I see you bear the mark of handling as well little one. Will you be a magebreeder as Mazina?" the tree rumbled.

"And a druid like the Wardens." the confident child stated matter of factly. "A bold one this child. Work hard youngling and you may achieve that goal. A druid must strive to keep balance within and without. Many of your kind cannot balance themselves in the short time they are on this plane." the old tree remarked. The young girl replied. "Within and without, one can't balance themselves if they don't strive to balance the world around them. At the same time."

"So wise already." the big tree chuckled sounding of low thunder. "Mazina thank you for bringing her to me, she gives me great hope for the future of the young races and Vadalis."

Mazina bowed, and spoke to Melody. "Go play with the beasts mistress." Melody complied, finding a big badger that looked really mean but really was just sleepy, while Olian and Mazina talked of other things, Melody heard "Baron", her father, and "war".

During the return trip Melody did little but think of the Druid and the power that such an old thing must have. She would strive for that.

For years she threw herself into training, both as a druid and a Magebreeder. Excelling in both. Determined to become more skilled than her mentor Mazina, and hopes one day, as a powerful druid, to bring the whole of the Reach under the rule of her house. Merging the Wardens with House Vadalis. The presence of so many druidic sects causes chaos in the region that Melody would do away with. In her mind the end goal is Baroness Melody d'Vadalis the Great Druid Warden of the Eldeen Reach. A lofty goal, but one worth achieving. That way she could help Olian protect the people and animals of the reach, and protect Olian himself.

Here is the crunch for Melody. I will make an alias if selected!

What backstory I can muster with my limit source knowledge.:
Melody is a young daughter of House Vadalis. Talented with the Druidic arts, she was assigned to the Beastkeeper pens straightaway. Learning to be a walking army and fierce warrior. She is dragonmarked and a fierce taskmaster. Preffering the company of animals to other people, she see herself as a pack leader with the animals she summons, and as a hunting mate for her favorite animal friend, her cheetah, Lady.

a quick question, I'm working on my druid submission, and I wonder if I could get the shifter prereq waved for the moonspeaker Prc. I was going to make a dragonmarked(?) Druid of house Vadalis then PrC some. Final build looking probably like Druid 5/Vadalis Beastkeeper 10/ Moonspeaker 5.

Her name is Melody Vadalis, an up and coming Beastgeneral.

1.Long term goals. For Melody she wants to become a renowned beastmaster, a legend in her house, and to help maintain balance in the world after the horrors of the last war. Jak wants to experience a life of freedom, and become the king of something.

2. Melody is currently with her family training amongst the elder beastkeepers and druids. If we were RPing something one on one, currently escaping slavery for Jak would be awesome.(does one need a reason to escape slavery?)

3.For Melody, master summoning. For Jak, kill his way to freedom, find pretty girls to carry on with.

4. For Melody it is mediocrity, a life without purpose, or renown. For Jak it is a cage, not being able to run the hills, having his horns cut and his powerful limbs bound.

Ah bummer, Minotaurs right off the Eberron site too. eh.

Maybe I'll make a druid, never played a druid before.

A shifter druid, hmm it's cool that they can take monster feats.

Ok I've created an alias for this. I've little knowledge of Eberron but would be willing to work with others to flush out my backstory. My idea is that Jak is an escaped slave from that monster filled racist nation, Droaam. And he is out to make friends and experience the world.

If it would be more apt, I could totally make him over into a battle cleric quick as well!

As of right now he is a Minotaur Barbarian, who loves axes.
