Got it and Thanks once more - very appreciated!

Appreciated!
I mainly play a very old defunct game called Dragon Quest by SPI. Have been a die hard fan of that for almost 40 years and have been adapting and evolving it the whole time. It's a percentile system so have a lot of conversion to do from D&D type systems. The D20 target base I generally get but for some reason just missed the DC (15) on morale checks. Am assuming its the same on the check for changing Tactics too?

When I saw the Settlement and Mass Combat system in Pathfinder this was something I was just starting to work on but this system is cleaner so am working on conversion of that to DQ. As this is all for fun takes a while but all my players tell me I've spoiled D&D for them and even am training a couple of guys to GM for themselves...

Another encountered oddity with mass combat.
When I got to Special Abilities Judgement - See they have option of OM+1 …. or to have attack treated as Magic. Looking above on resources list under improved weapons see magic is OM+2 so why would you chose option of OM+1. (Well guess there are some rare instances where magic doesn't hurt an entity)…..

Thanks Chemlak that cleared a lot up very fast.

Units have Morale -4 to +4
Morale Check = d20 + Commander's Modifer + Army Morale Score
Charisma Modifier: This lists the commander’s Charisma modifier. It is added to the army’s Morale checks.
Need Morale checks for Withdraw and changing tactics.

Ok so far....

If I have a Commander Charisma 12 +Army Morale 4. That's a base of 16 before rolling.
But what am I comparing this number to? Did not see that. Typically there is a statement something like "Searching= 17 or greater"

Back to the example above ---I roll better than a 16? That doesn't make sense as the higher the leaders charisma would push the number higher so works against himself.
Also same for Unit having higher morale make number higher harder to beat.

Very Confused.... but admittedly plat other RPG's so not as familiar with mechanics of DnD but trying to learn.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Pathfinder Kingdom Control DC
Think I'm probably in error about something but it's my understanding that the formula for the Kingdom Control DC is:
20+ Hexes Owned+ Total Districts without any other modifiers or adjustments. If so I don't get it.

The very first thing I build in a single settlement will put me at 22 (20+1 hex owned+1 district).
Can't roll less than a 22 on a d20 so my kingdom of a single district will fall into anarchy turn 2?
Certainly think I've missed something or got it all wrong.

Scratch previous comments.
This rocks! Easy to edit and have already added a number of new building types!

This is a GREAT WORK- thank you many times over.

A number of the items on the pull down do not appear in their respective spreadsheets -or at least what I thought was the last version
(Brothel and Witches Hut are couple Examples)
Would be nice if you could edit names in Pull down or add more.
Is possible to get copy of an editable version?
