What? Ending so soon?

Unfortunately yes, but you are welcome to migrate over to the Rappan thread Ulven.

I would be happy to have you both. Characters would be upgraded to 4th level. Check the discussion thread as to what wealth increase that will give you. As the party in the Rappin thread have only just started, both Num-Rah and Ilona could be another adventuring duo who have been follwing them at a distance. Combat with a particularly nasty skeleton is currently taking place, so I could envision the two of you rushing into the mausoleum to aid them.

"...Tell me again why this was a good idea?"

I'll keep an eye on this one as well.

I am still here! It looks like this may have come to a premature end...which is a shame. Ilona, I m also running a pbp called rappin in rappan. You would be most welcome to join it if it takes your fancy.

If people let me know about the Ptolus game, i.e if anyone else is still there, then I would be more than happy to carry on with it.

This is Grashnak Warsoul, priest of Inurath, Mistress of War. Grashnak has been working as a caravan guard and a mercenary. He has come to Ptolus escorting one of the merchants form the last caravan and so far hasn't decided what to do next. Perhaps he found a room in the same inn as Ilona and the rest? Question: Am I allowed to exchange domain powers for good BAB and d10 hd, per Pathfinder Campaign setting Holly Warrior?

Thats fine by me.

Num-Rah wrote:

"If we decide to seek battle, we shall need a healer. I am new to this den of stone, Ilona. Do you know someone here who would be ready to assist us?"

I think we need a cleric. I could roll one up, if DM agrees and there are no other interested players.

A cleric would be a good idea I think. If you have no objections to playing a second character then I am fine with it.

Wimpering in pain, he scuttles out of the room, banging into the door frame in his haste to exit

Out on the street, Litorian decides to go and visit the weaponshop of that powerful male of his kind. Perhaps he would know of some bladesmith looking for apprentice.

Looking across the Square, you note that the weapon smiths shop is closed, as the hour now is very late. Perhaps a trip there in the morning may be a good idea.

Ilona looks at the man, sure that he is telling the truth.

"If you leave this city right now you get to live, but you attacked ou friend here, and that will not go unaccounted for. I'm going to brak your thumbs, you won't lift a weapon against anyone for a while, but the alternative is death."

She lookhim in the eyes and in a cold voice she speaks,"Stretch out your hands, and bite down on the rope."

He slowly stretches out his hands. Closing his eyes, he whispers "I will be gone by sunrise", before biting down on the rope.

The mans shoulders slump. "I dont have anything else to tell. I'm dead now anyway. Cran always finds out." He lowers his head, "Do with me as you please."

"Toridan Cran, Toridan Cran!!! I'll give you a map to his place even!!! "

"No ...please...I, I'll give you another name, just please let me go!"

He stammers, "What...what do you mean...what hand...?

"Ok,ok...Vagger Nulus. He's who you want. He's a small time hood. He employed me, but I got the feeling he was just a front for someone else. Dont ask me who, cos I don't know. That's the truth too. So...about this deal. You gonna let me go now...?"

He flinches away from the glowing glob of acid Sounds good to me "L...L...Look...I...I...Don't know nothin'!! Just wat i told yer friend. I was to do the job, then meet two hours after dusk at the red wairhouse on Able row. Honest!! I've already given you a name!!"

The thug spits out blood before whispering, "...Just a job..."

The tied and bound figure that is slumped in a corner stirs and moans in pain as he regains conciousness.

Kieran begins to tell you about his encounter with the assassin, giving the unconcious man a nudge with his boot. He also details the mysterious globe that seems to hold images of all of you.

You all file into the room awaiting the information that your new and slightly different looking roguish friend has to offer.

Yeah. I'm waiting for players to post so we can move things forwards. Since going upstairs to the room at the inn no one has posted!

You all make your way upstairs, into the small cramped room....

A figure appears, descending the stairs, and waves in your direction, calling to catch your attention.

"Oh, a hot bath is included in the fee madam, and we will even throw in soap"

"Well, a night’s stay is gonna set you back either 5 sp, 7 sp, 1 gp, or
2 gp, depending on what scale of luxury you require. If you've got horses, then that's extra. Now at the moment in the tap room we have our resident musician, Tarin Ursalatao, performing. That's his dulcit tones you can hear now."
Tellith winks at the ladies in the party, "Wait till you get a look at him...I'd climb to the top of the spire for a night with him!"
Blushing slightly, Tellith indicates the room to her right. "We have some good food on tonight as well. Might I suggest the goose liver and bean soup followed by the beef and vegetable pasties and finished off with a bowl of sugared dragons. If its drink your after, then see Zade, behind the bar. First drinks on the house."

"Well, we can definately provide the first three; as for your friend...well, I don't recall seeing anyone fitting that description tonight, although there was a gentleman earlier who had piercing eyes...yes, they were green! He went up to his room on the second floor about an hour ago. Haven't seen him since. But he wasn't alone. I believe another gentleman accompanied him..."

Upon entering the inn, you are confronted by a front desk. Stairs head up to the right and behind the desk. An archway to the left leads into a large dining room whilst to the left is the crowded taproom. A hauntingly beautiful voice drifts out from this room.

Stood behind the desk is a pretty young woman with
reddish-brown hair who looks up as you enter. "Good evening Sir's, Ladies; my name is Tellith. How may we help you tonight? "

As you cross Delvers Square, heading toward the Ghostly Mistrel, you are relieved to note that the rain has now stopped, giving way to an unseasonably warm night breeze.

You seem to recall having seen something similar once in the nobles quarter, used as an ornamental device to display images of loved ones. You recall that they were not cheap! It appears that this is something simmilar. Although how the images came to be in it are unknown.

xp = 200

oh, almost forgot
and a small crystal globe that when held appears to show the face of Phon, the two Pale Dog thugs, the rest of your new companions and also your true face.

Loot is as follows: Masterwork studded leather armor, dagger,
50 feet of silk rope, climber’s kit, disguise
kit, masterwork thieves’ tools, note,25 gp. The note reads - "Due to return to the red warhouse on Able row, 2 hours after dusk. Theoday"

"Oooopptthh" The man crashes to the ground, as he reaches for the door. Yeah, your correct in your assumption

Kieran grimaces. Down to 5 HP "No one you'd know." He says as he plips his knife back and stabs forward.

"If I didn't trust my senses I'd sware that you had been replaced by a doppleganger!!!"

"If she sticks to the main streets then she should be fine", replies the father.

Back in St Gustavs, Phon pops her head into the room where you are all gathered.
"I'm off now father. I need to sleep, but I will come by tomorrow after breakfast on my way to work. I'll see if I can bring you some of those muffins you like."

The priest smiles, "Hurry home now girl...", adding with a frown as she runs off, "and stay away from any sewer gratings...!"

Sorry adriana, but initiative only applies to Kieran. He is on his own at a room in the Ghostly Minstral inn. you are at St Gustavs church with the others.

~Adriana's Ghost form curses at her inability to react and her lack of mystical ability~

~GRINS~ AH!!! Ok!

Ha Ha. No problem

"He,he. Yes, you never were told why were you. Well it wont do any harm for you to know before you die!...Aarhh"

He grunts in pain as your blade slices down his forearm, drawing blood. Down to 9HP

"Damn...your quicker than I remember! But no matter. You wont leave here alive. Yes, lets just say that someone considers you a loose end that needs tidying up. That whore was just asking for it after she got herself with child. Someone high up, paid our employer, Vagger Nulus, a hefty sum to dispose of her. Thats what you were paid to do by him of course. But there are to be no witnesses left to talk. If word ever gets out about what happened, then it could make life difficult for whoever the father was."

He circles around you...

"And as I know how much your mouth likes to talk...well, lets just say i'm doing the city a favour!"

He lunges in with a viscious slash Rolls a 2 !!!!, but as you leap back he overextends and stumbles against the table, his blade scoring a line against the wall as you dodge out of the way.

"Stay still, damn you!!"

Kieran (nice work by the way!)
The contact smiles at you, revealing several missing teeth.
"Oooh, thats gotta hurt. Mustave been painful. Ahh well, since your used to a bit of pain you wont mind if I just stick old nipper here into yer guts then?"
He proceeds to quickly pull out a long serated knife.

"Sorry about this, but business is business. Nothing personel; just like things nice and tidy, know wat I mean?"

And with that he slowly advaces on you.

Roll initiative.

"No, no, it is not her father. For that matter I dont think she knows her father. No, I suspect that the affair, if that is what it was, is now over, and the pregnancy is a result of it. I have no idea who her lover was, but it has not boded well for her. She is a shadow of her former self. She has been turning up late for work as well. Her boss at Saches tailors is none too pleased either, but she is worried as well. All i can ask is that if you are around, watch out for her please? I have enough to worry about as it is..."

Back in St Gustavs, Brother Fabitor takes you all into a side room, possibly a changing room, and bids you take a seat on some low benches.

"I believe that young Phon ay well be in trouble", he begins.
"I think she may be pregnant."

Kieran Del'gerr wrote:

g2g to work, be back a little after ten. don't suppose you could wait to meet the contact until then. I'd really like to do this trick with Kieran.

Kieran sat there, going over the note in his mind. The contact had been described, suggesting that neither the contact nor the thugs knew one another, he was banking on that. Of course he had an idea of how he could get around that if that wasn't the case, but it'd be easier if it was. He sat there trying to plot out the different ways the conversation would go, and what he would say in each. He was confident his ruse would work flawlessly.

Meanwhile...

"Ortry Gannon, you old snake; so you manged to do the business then? I take it thelittle slut is dead then...and wheres your dim wited mate?"

The speaker is a dark clothed man, with a wide brimmed hat pulled down low over his eyes. He has approached from out of the crowds moving about Delvers Square. He points at the Ghostly Minstrel inn behind you.

"It's a bit public here. Lets go to your room. I have the rest of your payment here"

"Come, I wil take you on a tour of my humble place of worship; we can talk as we walk".
He turns to Phon. "My dear, why dont you use my quarters and get yourself cleaned and refreshed?"

"I do not fear you, my tall friend; I fear what may follow you"
He seems to relax slightly.
"But where are my manners. Let us not get off on the wrong foot here. Phon is obviously comfortble in you company, so thats good enough for me. Please, come inside out of the rain. I have some bread and cheese, as well as fruit and wine; you all look hungry"

He ushers you into the church, whispering to Num-Rah as you go "And besides, you may just be able to do me a favour..."

Brother Thisk eventually spots Phon and cautiously walks over towards your group. He eyes you all rather suspiciosly before turning to the young woman.
"Phon? Are you allright my child? When you did not attend prayers with Marta I feared the worse. Look at your clothes...are you sure your fine..."(in a whisper) "Who are these people...?"

The priest glares at you all.

As you approach the church the doors open and a small congregation exits after hearing a service. They all look down on their look. An elderly man, with thinning grey hair and threadbare robes spends a moment with each of them as they leave. Phon seems to want to wait until the crowd has dispersed before approaching further.

"Yes, it's getting rather cold now."

With that, Phon leads you out of the alley and back across Delvers Square, heading toward St Gustavs chappel. She points out quite a well appointed inn as you move along.

"Thats the Ghostly Minstel. Tell Tellith I sent you and she might do you a deal on the bill."

You move out of Delvers Square and across Centre Steet. There, in front of you is a rather run down church devoted to Lothian. Its in need of a lick of paint and some general care and attention.

"St Gustavs. I'll be safe here"

I also used to use Star Trader in Preston. It used to be called Thunderbooks 2 years ago. I'm not sure if it still sells RPGs though but they did stock a pretty good range.

Phon nodds. "Thank you for your concern Ilona, but if you would just escort me to Brother Thisk, over at St. Gustav's, I would be safe there."
