About Jack Kaplon
Isoroku was born to an artisan family in Sakakabe Province. His family served the Minkai Empire in the works of metal, especially silver. While he learned his family trade, Isoroku longed for a different life than the station he was born. Spending long hours training to be an armorer, Isoroku also trained in the arts of the warrior. The prominant Takano family lost their eldest son to disease during Isoroku's 14th year. As common practice for a family lacking a male heir to carry the family name, the Takano family adopted Isoroku. He took the new family name in place of his own and began formal training to serve the empire as samurai.
The call to service is a thing no son can refuse. The Empire called for warriors to battle against rebels in the north, near the Forrest of Spirits. Isoroku was part of the scouting band sent to look into one of the old camps thought abandoned by the rebels, in hopes of finding leads to track them. When the band arrived, all of the rebels were dead from strange wounds to their heads. While inspecting one of the tents, Isoroku fell through the ground into a tunnel.
Inside, Isoroku could see a strange creatur he'd never encountered before. It attacked him, touching him with slime covered skin, before he lost consiousness. When he awoke, Isoroku found himself in a land where the people did not speak his language and none looked like the people he knew. And he had no way to return home...
