Feats:
Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: All simple and martial weapons, light and medium armor, and any shield except tower shields. Seething Hatred (Humanoid: Human): Select a creature type from the Ranger Favored Enemies table (Humanoid: Human). When you designate a creature of this type as your studied target and hit with a melee or ranged weapon attac, your bonus on damage rolls against it is doubled. Traits:
Tactician: You know how to take advantage of enemies who are unprepared for your assault. You gain a +1 trait bonus on initiative checks, and once per day you may take a +2 bonus to one attack of opportunity attack roll. Mercenary: For everything there is a price, and you are a negotiator at heart. You gain a +2 trait bonus on Diplomacy, Intimidate and Sense Motive Checks made while negotiating payment for a quest or service you provide. High Treason (Crime Trait): The contract was simple and to the point: "Assassinate Princess Bellinda Darius. Payment of 100,000 gold pieces and items of value of your choice. Must be killed in public." If only that blasted bird had not suddenly flown in front of the arrow! If only that guard she had incapacitated at the tower's base had not had an ill cousin that sent other guardsmen to find him! Now, the F branded on her neck signified her fate: drawing and quartering at Branderscar Prison. Gains a +1 trait bonus to Will saves, assuming she survives that long. Class Feats & Features:
Studied Target (EX): A slayer can study an opponent he can see as a move action. The slayer then gains a +1 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive and Survival checks attempted against the opponent, and a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls against it. The DC of the slayer's Class abilities against that opponent increase by 1. Can only be maintained against one opponent at a time; they remain in effect until either the opponent is dead or the slayer studies a new target. If a slayer deals sneak attack damage to a target, he may study that target as an immediate action, allowing him to apply studied target bonuses against that target (including to the normal weapon damage roll). Track (EX): A slayer adds 1/2 his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks. Race Specific:
+2 Dex, +2 Cha, -2 Con: Dhampirs are fast and seductive, but racial bond to the undead impedes mortal vigor. Dhampir: Dhampirs are humanoids with the dhampir subtype. Senses: Low-light vision and darkvision 60 feet. Manipulative: +2 racial bonus on Bluff and Perception. Undead Resistance: Dhampirs get a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against disease and mind-affecting effects. Dayborn: Born at noon on concecrated ground. Removes Light Sensitivity (dazzled in areas of bright sunlight or within radius of daylight spell) at the cost of Spell-Like Ability (cast detect undead three times a day, caster level = to class level). Negative Energy Affinity: Though a living creature, a dhampir reacts to positive and negative engery as if undead - positive energy harms, negative energy heals. Resist Level Drain (Ex): Takes no penalties from energy drain effects, though still can be killed if accrues more negative levels then Hit Dice. After 24 hours, any negative levels are removed without the need of an additional saving throw. Random Crunch:

Ivy should never have been born. That was drilled into her head by her parents from a young age. Her mother was biten by a vampire, and she was the result of other things the vampire did to her after biting. The only reason she was tolerated was she was born at high noon in the temple of Mitra. The 'blessings' of the priests kept some of the darker parts of her nature from manifesting: she could stand the sunlight, (though she still prefered not to be in it as she grew up) and she did not have any sense for where undead creatures were. Despite this her parents hated her as the reminder of a time they would have rather forgotten. At her happiest in her childhood, she was merely neglected and shunned. At the worst, however, she was beaten by her "father", her half brothers, and her mother. She left her home at 14. Her parents parting gift to her was a not so subtle hint that if she ever came back they would find some reason to have her sent to Branderscar Prison. She still harbors anger toward her family to this day. Adolescence:
Over the course of her teen years, Ivy learned how to study the humans she was forced to live around. To hide her nature as best as possible, and to hide from view when she was not sucessfull in that. It was not a big leap to go from studying to stalking. Soon she found that she could track a target person through crowds, memorizing patterns, finding opportune places and times to deliver a killing blow. Others noticed this ability of hers as well... and when she turned seventeen she found herself with her first contract to kill someone. The deal was simple: succeed and get paid; if she failed or was caught she would die. She succeeded, the minor cleric's blood flowed into the street beside his church with none but her and the client the wiser of her involvement. Ivy had found her calling. Adulthood Until Now:
For the last ten years Ivy has been making a quiet, bloody living as a contract killer for those who can hire her skills. Clients find out about her typcially from word of mouth, and she has yet to meet any of them in person both for their security and for hers. Rather she accepts contracts from a series of well paid tavern owners and altar servers, who take the contracts to dead drops that change monthly (or after a successful job). Money and items are to be dropped on the victim's grave usually. When the price is right, or the target significant enough, she takes the job. If she wants more for the job, she drops a counter offer in another dead drop. No client save one minor lord (notoriously a cheapskate) has tried to welch on paying after the contract has been completed. The only thing that was ever found of this lord was his right hand and his eyes, both found on the tombstone of the mistress he has contracted Ivy to kill. The final contract that Ivy has had was perhaps her most siginificant: to assassinate the Crown Princess in public. She had everything ready: after weeks of studying her, she knew that she would always be leaving the church at exactly the same time on days of worship, and that the tower nearby had a perfect view of the church's courtyard. Disabling the guard was easy. Ivy lined up the shot, exhaling slowly as the arrow was loosed from her longbow. And then, all went wrong. Whether by fate or chance, a falcon picked that moment to dive down after some tasty morsel or other.... and found itself pierced for its troubles by Ivy's arrow. The bloody mess hit the princess in the chest, leaving blood and feathers all over her gown and a bruise on the point of impact, but none the worse for ware apart from it. Cursing Ivy tried to escape, only to find the guard's friends waiting, having come to fetch him on the behest of his sick cousin. At first Ivy hoped that she might get away with only the murder charges against the guard. The inquisitors that tortured her for two days after, however, disauded her of that. "Tell us who hired you and we will only charge you with sedition, not High Treason," they lied to her. She saw through it, however, and even if she had believed them she had no information to give them anyway. Frustrated by her silence, the brand came soon, and now she is on the way to Branderscar Prison to face her fate. |
