Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Yeah. I hope they're doing okay.

Bloop.

As everyone goes across, Isme reminds everyone to be cautious again, mostly in the form of sung rhymes that described an unnamed man's various gruesome and stupidity-induced deaths. Some of them involve the man wearing extremely heavy armor.

Careful Teamwork for 1 hour. +2 to Initiative, Perception, etc.

Once everyone is together, Isme leads the way, checking for traps as she peers ahead in both directions.

Perception: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 16 + 2 = 27

What Wyam said for the order.

Isme simply flew across the ravine and waited for the others to cross.

They have my sympathy.

Isme flies around the room, ready to assist if needed but trusting her party can take care of things.

Reynard, don't forget you're a rogue and have Evasion, which means when you normally take half damage on a reflex save, you take no damage.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme fails to suppress a snort when she sees Wyam fall, flying past him. At least he's safe behind the party.

Isme is flying so I don't think she'll need to do the Acrobatics roll for the slippery floor. She double moves.

With Spectrum and his pseudodragons taking care of the lizards and Reynard taking guard at the front of the party, Isme flaps her wings and flies through the cave, moving towards the exit of the second cave to prevent the lizards from escaping.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

That's good with me too. Sneaking around would have been Isme's preferred method in the first place.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

"In the end, you follow the same plan. Very well."

Isme moves to the treeline close to the road.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme arrives back with Reynard to the others and goes in-depth with what she saw, using Prestidigitation to make crude maps to support her point before ending with, "There's only appearance to go on unless you'd like me to go for a deeper probe. The individuals that look different enough should be treated with caution. I didn't see any prisoners but they may be deeper in a door I didn't open."

That's good for me! :D No objections at all, pretty much what Isme would do. Invisibility was going to be used if she proceeded deeper (to provide constant invisibility since a raven probably shouldn't be inside) but Vanish is sufficient for simple peering. Lucrezia is underneath the fort but all the other forces are on ground level or above. We should decide which to focus on first. I recommend sneaking in and getting the hardest part out of the way."

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

"Certainly." Isme bows, one wing held over her chest, the gesture a playful mocking that retains a sharp edge. "Reynard, you're a rogue as well. Would you accompany me to the edge of the fort as a spotter? It would be good practice in working together. I can also turn invisible and scout the insides through the aerie if I can't get enough information outside."

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

If you need recon, Isme actually functions perfectly as a rogue as I designed her. If you need more information, she can do individual scouting missions and extract information from nearby creatures (Speak to Animals, Charm Person/Monster, Zone of Truth, Sow Thought, Detect Thoughts…). It would just take much longer to do that kind of prep work.

Easiest way would be to let Isme speak to some vermin or animals around there but since they're animals the information they have would probably be limited to a vague description of amount of forces and type.

If you can get her an individual from that and she can pretty much pump them for everything they know. More specific things like spellcasters, traps, and so on would be attainable even with an ogre grunt. Doing it on something smarter than that would be more difficult (unless we've captured and restrained them) but would probably give more information.

…Also there's Reynard, the actual rogue.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

"Another charge then? Taking care of that force we lured here was easy enough but I would still advise being careful. After all, they've felled an entire fortress so they must have more than those dumb brutes in store."

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme remains behind Kaven, silently wearing down his will and mind as the others have their interrogation. If they fail, she could always take over.

Performing Evil Eye on Kaven repeatedly, -2 to skill checks and another type for -2 to saving throws. It'll last for 8 rounds if Kaven fails a DC 18 Will save, reduced to 1 round if he makes it, but since I'm performing it repeatedly he's pretty much constantly debuffed.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme looked at the ogres with condescension, deciding they weren't worth her time as the others continue their one-sided massacre.

She flaps her wings and flies out from a tree, deciding her time was better spent hunting down the traitor, quickly catching up to Array and Glimmer as she moved full-speed in the sky.

Isme casts Mage Armor (7 hours) on herself as preparation.

Isme takes to the sky and follows Wyam and the ogre's travel. She was there just in case Wyam needed help or an immediate escape, but she also thought this would be entertaining to watch.

When the group approaches their destination, Isme settled herself on a nearby tree, acting as a rearguard and to disable the enemy from behind.

Isme settles herself on a nearby tree, watching to see how their plan would work out. She was confident enough they could survive anything ogres could send out.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Finally able to log in. Got that weird DNS error with my Internet where I couldn't connect to Paizo at all.

Sorry for the sudden disappearance. Give me some time to catch up.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

"If I can single out one of the inhabitants and get them alone, I can also get better information with my magic. Useful if we want to know more about their current movements and their traps instead of just the layout."

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme returns and allows the others to do as they will.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Perception: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 16 + 2 = 27

Isme catches the trap in the bedroom and, with her information, have it disabled safely.

After the exploration, she flaps off to where the body of the ogrekin matron fell, saying she just needs to take care of business.

Is there enough blood (1 pint) in the ogrekin matron's body that I can collect? Planning to use Blood Transcription on it when I next prepare spells.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

"Let's not encourage any pyromaniac tendencies," Isme says dryly. "We haven't explored it fully so there might be more inside we can use."

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme observes the interaction between Shalelu and Jakardos with curiosity.

She takes a look at the map when it arrives and mentions, giving Kaven some breathing room, "We're not going to retake the fort immediately. We'll need time to plan, and besides, you all look like you need some rest from the ordeal you've just been through."

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme comments to Spectrum as he looses another bomb. "I'm convinced you've become inordinately fond of explosions. First the fireballs, and then the explosive alchemy."

She then moves in to work on the men's manacles, staying below and out of the way while Wyam took care of immediate triage.

Disable Device: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 27

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme nods at Spectrum's reply but still thinks it was foolhardy.

In the next room, Isme looks at the giant spider with disdain, ready to assault its feeble mind should it notice them.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme flies over to Spectrum but lets Wyam go ahead first. "I do hope you know what you were doing with that fireball when we had potential people nearby to save," she whispers.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Spectrum, honestly all those wands are nice but I doubt I'll be using them constantly with all the other options available to me (not to mention the move action it'll take to get a wand out). Might be better to let Array and Glimmer use them.

GM, what level (maximum?) are the additional spells in the spellbook?

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme flies into the barn, staying her tongue because Spectrum had a better view of the inside so he'd know if he'd hit any rangers that might still be alive.

Inside, she glares at the ogrekin matron and utters another ear-paining cry, the talon with the ring on it pointed at the matron. A black ray of foul energy shoots out.

Enervation (Ranged Touch): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 26
Temporary Negative Levels: 1d4 ⇒ 3

Enervation for temporary Negative Levels.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme flies closer to the door but can't get a good look inside. She opens her beak and lets out a shrill cry, focusing supernatural power on the ogre she can see.

Casting Command (Will DC 16 negates) on the ogrekin I see. Command is "Flee" so they provoke AoO if they do so.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme acquiesces to Wyam's leadership, checking the entrances for magic though somewhat preoccupied with holding back her comments on Wyam going through the front door again.

Perception: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 16 + 2 = 19 Hmm? Any magic you say?

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

We can get back to it later. Like Wyam pointed out, rangers probably aren't in there and their survival is top priority at the moment.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme notices Shalelu's reaction to the longbow and tries deciphering how exactly she feels about it.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27

So is the tiger still somewhere around so I can relay Wyam's questions about smelling his ranger, or if he knows the equipment just found belongs to his ranger.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme nods to Wyam. "I'll ask the tiger," she says before flying back to find the tiger and Shalelu to relay Wyam's questions.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme feels her woven strands of bad luck fail to stick to the creature but her expertise allows her to muster another attempt, the strands doubling over themselves to constrict.

Guess who got the Accursed Hex feat that lets me retry a failed hex? This raven did. Misfortune (Will DC 18 negates) again.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Darn, that's a save. It's roll when the hex is cast to see if the target saves against it. If they do, the next time they roll something that is affected by the hex, the hex starts its round from that moment.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme concentrates on the creature from behind Reynard and weaves strands of bad luck on it.

Misfortune (Will DC 18 negates), roll twice and take worse result. 1 round but due to Soothsayer, will take effect starting from the next time target makes a roll affected by Misfortune.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

I was trying to think of ways to participate in combat that didn't resort to Hexes but nope, hexes are pretty much my best bet and usually the only and most effective thing I can do, especially against a single target.

That's fine, Isme will look like she's doing nothing at all but she's really helping, you guys!

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

Isme flied closer, moving a bit ahead of Spectrum and just behind Reynard and Wyam. She twitters a long note filled with arcane energy as she uses a claw to hold a depleted wand, letting it channel the magic in the air.

Cast Arcane Concordance, arcane spells from allies 10 ft. from me gains +1 to DC and may apply a free Extend Spell metamagic (as chosen by me).

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme followed behind Reynard, her eyes scanning their surroundings. Spectrum and Wyam seemed to have the corridor handled and Shalelu could assist behind them if needed.

Perception: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 16 + 2 = 35

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme awkwardly waits with Shalelu at the back, confident that the party can handle the altercation and unwilling to enter the chaos in such tight quarters though ready to respond if need be.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme quickly searches the dead ogrekin for anything of use before following downwards into the basement, continuing to spot for traps.

Go right.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Pretty much! And there really isn't anything else I could do witch-wise unless I stuck to spellcasting then I'd just be better off being a wizard or something.

I've taken some other hexes but they're not seeing any use because, like you said, they can't compete with the instant shut-down of that trifecta of debilitating hexes. Also there's no reusable hex buffs for my party and instead just hex debuffs on the enemy.

Female Noble Raven Bard (Detective) 7 / Witch (Bonded Witch) 7 [ HP 45/45 | AC 18/16/14, CMD 13, Fort +2, Ref +9, Will +5 | Init +5; Low-light vision; Perception +16 ]

Isme hops up on the table for a better view of the ogres and focuses on finding one of their feeble minds, choosing the farther one before blacking it out.

Slumber (Will DC 18)

Perception: 1d20 + 16 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 16 + 2 = 28
I have Careful Teamwork active by the way.

Isme twitters a high sharp note, warning the party to still their movements. "Scythe traps," she said and then began pointing them out. "Three of them. The door also has a hidden switch."

Isme moves with the group, dutifully checking for traps.

Isme searches the ogre's body before they move on, taking time to peer at the carvings before the party assaults the house.

Dang. Following action after the surprise round:

Isme flies over the building behind the ogre and tugs at his consciousness.
