Zutha got a novel dealing with him.

Did you read Runeplague (Return of the Runelords #3) ?

In the case of Tyrant's Grasp specifically, Jacobs and the authors knew they were creating a story that could be somewhat controversial, but they also decided it was the right story to tell (I agree). It's unlikely to be a type of story we'll tell in the Adventure Path format again anytime soon, but that doesn't mean it wasn't worth telling. For a different ending, Tar-Baphon's phylactery would need to be destroyed in order to truly remove him as a threat, and frankly that was far outside the scope of the AP. Discovering Tar-Baphon's phylactery and destroying it so that he can be defeated is an entire AP unto itself, and perhaps one we'll tell someday. Who knows what the future might bring? But finding a power capable of destroying Tar-Baphon's phylactery, once the PCs have even figured out what and where it is, will be a significant...

With all due respect, i expected a similar traitment, with the same scope and epicness, for Zutha.

Instead of that, he's destroyed like a minor treat, without any consideration for the strength and weaknesses of his Phylactery.
Same thing (in a very different way) for Xanderghul.

Truth to be told : each of the runelords deserved his own AP, Karzoug's style.
I'm a huge fan of the Thassilon mythology, i bought every single book mentioning the fallen empire, and i was very, very disapointed with Return of the Runelords.

It's not the end of the world, there is stuff in it i can use, and i'm not raging but, for me, the end of the official Runelord Trilogy is only a matter of regrets.

(PS : sorry for my english, i did my best but i'm not very fluent).

@ James :

Angothane = Alderpash ?

(PS : very impatient to read the new AP ^^)

First things first : please excuse my bad english, i’m not a native speaker.

If we assume that all the 9 Runelords (the big Seven + Xin + Alderpash) wake up, one way or the other, I think they will split into two team, a very strong one and a “weak” one.
I don’t think Xin will ever agree to work with Sorshen, Xanderghul or Alderpash. Because, well, you know : they killed him ^^
Same thing : Alaznist and both Karzoug and Alderpash cannot be on the same team (K & A hate each other deeply and there’s no such thing as two runelords of Wrath in the mind of a… runelord of Wrath !)

So, I think we will have a major team (with Sorshen, Xanderghul, Karzoug, Alderpash, Krune and Zutha) and a “minor” team (with Xin, Alaznist and Belimarius). Because, of course, Belimarius would side with the team in wich she could be the most important.

The big team can also count on Fafneir (ally to Xanderghul), Ungarrato (mythic undead barbarian with a sword of sin : yes please !) and perhaps the Oliphaunt.

And the “small” team can count on Xin-Undoros, the use of the Sihedron and, I think, the help of Ayandamalha (to kick Sorshen in the teeth, obviously).

In my opinion both Kazavon (because stuck between the two and weaker than both of them) and the Storm Tyrant (because Rune Giants) will be forced to join one of the two Thassilonian team.

One side question : who will be trusted with the other Swords of Sin (beside Ungarrato) ? Because a strong fighter with one of those artifact is a huge asset for each team.

Hi guys.
First things first, excuse my french : i am not a native english speaker and i hope my post will be understandable.

I'm a french player and i'm really into the Pathfinder Beginner Box right now, trying to customise it into a complete game, E6 style.

I have a few questions for you, fellow pathfinder players : by the book it seems to me that Battle Rage and Strenght Surge (gorum's special powers) are really, really weak, especially compared with Desna's Bit of Luck or Sarenrae's sun blessing.

Same Logic : after level 4, Sarenrae's rebuke death seems completely outclassed by Erastil's Calming Touch (from the Player Pack).

Shouldn't those three powers be free actions instead of standard actions, especially from a i-wanna-play-a-gorum-cleric players perspective ? This God really seems to be the "bad choice" at every stage of the game.

Cheers :-)
